SUPERB little beach gem

SUPERB! You can't beat the location! My bed was comfy. Plenty of parking. And HUGE room. I had a king suite, so I had a kitchen. Not fancy. If you want fancy, go elsewhere. This hotel is rundown, but the service is friendly and welcoming. I travel with service dog and had no problems. There was nefarious shady characters hanging around...they don't bother you. Don't engage. The owner kicked them all out. Best time to visit? October thru Dec. Best rates. I have stayed here before and this is my second stay with Alamar. SUPERB!

My heebies were jeebied

I knew the type of motel I was buying into, and it wasn't the worst I've seen. For what it was it was clean, A/C and fridge worked. We got locked out of our room bc the key wouldn't work and had to ring for help. We found out there's a privacy switch on the door lock that will lock out all keys except the master key. I would think it'd be beneficial to label it that way so lockouts at 2am don't happen. The whole vibe of the place and the people hanging around and/or living there just gave me and my daughter the heebie jeebies and we decided to leave and drive home early. I don't think we spent more than an hour total actually in the room. I'm glad I only paid $30 out of pocket for it, otherwise I'd be asking for a refund bc that's about all it's worth.
