This hotel is about 25 minutes (a $15 taxi ride) from the airport, but it is a 5 minute walk from the park with the Olmec artifacts. It is lovely and modern, with a great free breakfast buffet, comfortable beds, hot water, and cold AC. Very decent price too, and good service overall. They even let us check in 2 hours early!
I stayed here because I wished to revisit the La Venta Park which is right across from the hotel. The park has a zoo and aviary but the real reason to spend a few hours here are the artifacts of the ancient Olmec civilization in a jungle-like setting. The hotel is away from the center, not close to restaurants or shopping malls. It caters essentially to a business clientele (Villahermosa is a thriving oil town). My single room was spacious and very pleasant. It was also very quiet (as requested). I asked the hotel to send a car to the airport since there are no pre-paid, authorized taxis there. And when it was time for me to go to the ADO bus station to catch my Palenque bus, I was given a free ride in the hotel car which I deeply appreciate. In short, I was well taken care of, felt at home and would highly recommend La Venta Inn.
The Hotel very comfortable, The Internet too slow, The Business Center all the Time Closed (Tha'ts not possible in a Hotel, please), It took them 30 minutes to complete my check-in even though I was the only person in the lobby. The other bad thing is that we could hear noises from other rooms since the walls seem to be very thin...!
La Venta Inn is very comfortable and offers a great complimentary breakfast. The linens were great and the room/bath was very clean. It also has secure parking. The price was very reasonable--about $50 US. There was a great restaurant just down the street. The hotel is easily accessible from Highway 186.
The hotel is very neat and new. Breakfast is good, beds are comfortable and the rooms spacious. The only bad thing is that we could hear noises from other rooms since the walls seem to be very thin...! There's a restaurant area nearby and a gas station right next door.
On the plus side: The hotel was clean and appeared really new. The safe box in the room seemed brand new. The included breakfast in their small cafe was good and the hotel was nicely decorated for the holidays. The location is a bit off from the city center, but right across the street from La Venta park. On the down side: Although the gym equipment was all new, there was no AC in the gym which made it impossible to workout in this hot and steamy city. The walls are thin. You'll get a wake-up knock every morning to check if you have any laundry. It took them 30 minutes to complete my check-in even though I was the only person in the lobby. Maybe because I booked through a third-party company?
This hotel was one of the best i have been. It is not an expensive hotel (Villahermosa is expensive so finding a good deal is not always easy). I found this hotel in TripAdvisor and booked hoping to get a good room. We booked a king size room. It was very spacious and clean. The AC is really silent and everything is new. The bed was amazingly comfortable. The staff was very courteous. Even at the breakfast buffet the staff is always trying to help you. That doesn't happen at most of the hotels that gives you the free breakfast. Here everything i tasted was delicious and they have a good variety. Also very clean restaurant. I also find it good to be close to La Venta Park. We didn't visit but went to a restaurant 10 minutes walk from there. They have options for some restaurants that gives you room service, which i find very useful, but if you want to find a restaurant you can walk behind the hotel and you will find some options or take a taxi you will be there in 2 minutes.
The staff is very friendly with English speakers. The room was very clean. The housekeeping staff was very helpful. The breakfast buffet was excellent: Coffee, tea, juices, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal, eggs, refried beans, nachos, potatoes. Although the dining was filled, (Saturday) tables were shared and there was never a lack of food. The only complaint is when you request a taxi, the hotel contacts a taxi service that charges 70 pesos a trip. This is high by MX standards. Normal fare in Villahermosa is 35 pesos. Just ask the desk to call a "normal" taxi. Otherwise an excellent hotel. 63 USD per night with a king size bed. I will stay again and recommend
It depends what you´re in Villahermosa to do. I was here one night on business and would only sleep in the hotel. This does its job for that perfectly. It is close by where I needed to be. The hotel was clean and the staff friendly. The room and bed were comfortable and I was up and out in the morning. If you´re looking for something nicer to spend time IN the hotel. There´s a Marriott and the Quinta Real nearby. A bit pricier but much nicer. If you find my review helpful, thumbs up!
This hotel turned out to be better than our first impression of it. It is definitely for businesspeople and for travelers looking for a night's stay--it lacks any sort of personality and is located on a busy road. That said, we were happy to discover that the beds were very comfortable, the a/c was very quiet, there was no noise from the street. Very clean, parking, wifi and breakfast included, and the breakfast buffet was very complete. If you are just in Villahermosa to see the La Venta Park with the Olmec heads, this hotel is in a great location: turn left out the door, cross over the first pedestrian bridge and you are there. We thought it was good value for the price and have no complaints at all. One detail: they only give you one little bottle of water per room and charge you for any additional, which was annoying.
