Ac not adjustable in room, so it was either freezing cold or just warm. sink in bathroom was broken. Breakfast room freezing cold, not really enjoyable. Elevator was across from room door, so it was very noisy and we couldn't sleep really well.
We were driving from Honduras to Mexico City and book a room at the Hyatt last minute just for one night. It was about $50 but it was a beautiful hotel with a nice pool and comfortable beds. The rooms were a little smaller than I expected but still well worth the money. They have a nice dinning area and 24 room service. It was an enjoyable stay.
Overall staff is excellent and attentive, guest rooms do the job, nothing out of this world. Great location if you are doing business with the local oil company. Had dinner and breakfast at La Ceiba, food was more than acceptable, maybe a tad expensive, had a drink at the bar, found it to be ridiculously expensive.
Stayed 2 nights on the club floor with lounge access. The hotel offers great deals and all facilities very impeccably clean, the public premises - however - were child and too cold.. so cover up when inside the hotel. Continental breakfast in the club lounge was basic. Rooms nicely appointed and we enjoyed the many public parks nearby. Pool area clean with sufficient pool towels and sun loungers during our stay off season. As a city hotel recommendable but no special flair as it is mainly used by business travelers.
Beyond any doubt in our minds, this is the best Hotel Value in Villahermosa. 1) The room was clean and spacious. 2) Bathrooms clean and spacious. 3) Beds were great. 4) Staff professional and very helpful. 5) Restaurant open till midnight. We arrived at 11:15 after a 5.5 hour drive from Mérida. What a relief to find they were still serving. 6) Food was great
I made a reservation for a Club room, and then I was told that my breakfast had to be in the Club room, I asked why the restriction, and finally I was allowed downstairs, in my opinion, they have to review many procedures and processes that they have it wrong,....or think that clients can be played with, I was told that they will be renovating soon, as the place is a bit outdated, TV programs are unbearable, very few english channels, and just an old fashioned thinking management. The La Venta Museum is nearby and worth the visit. The lady at the Club room is very nice and deserves compliments, as for the japanese dinner, it was a bit overpriced for what is offered, but they think they can make money this way, they have to improve, as otherwise, people will use other hotels. I came here as it was suggested by a client of mine that I was visiting.
Don't expect Asia style service at this Hyatt Regency. It is dull business Hotel not set up for tourists at all. There was zero information on the town available in the hotel at all. We only stayed here to visit Palenque which is two hour drive away. The main restaurant is very cold indeed with arctic type air conditioning.
It's a nice hotel but it's tucked away on a side street. Food in the restaurant is very expensive. Stayed on club level so it came with breakfast and dinner. Some nights aren't that bad. I enjoy the free sodas. I needed a hotel within walking distance from where I was going everyday so it was good. But if in town for other reasons try the marriot bc tbey are connected to a mall and has more to offer.
We had a comfortable stay for one week with family. We had rooms that gave us access to the club lounge for breakfast and dinner. The food in the club lounge, specifically for dinner, was at times disappointing and caused us to use the restaurant instead. Whether it's worth paying for club lounge access depends on how one values the convenience of a quick buffet-style meal versus the quality of the food. There was no concierge on duty during our stay, but the front-desk personnel generally was quite helpful.
This seems like one of the least reviewed/noted Hyatt Regencys in the Hyatt system, which led me to be slightly worried when I made my booking. However, I found the Hyatt Regency Villahermosa to be worth the stay, if a bit quirky/unglamorous in ways. From a value perspective, the price is quite low, so one should factor that into your expectations. The hotel is clean and somewhat small for a Hyatt Regency. The rooms are decent-sized and have shiny white tile floors, a nice shower, and surprisingly nice sheets. The pool is also surprisingly pretty, with palms and some palapas for shade (it's much quieter during the week). There is fresh juice in the lobby. There was a strange knocking in the walls at night to add to the atmosphere (a reviewer farther back mentioned ghosts, but who knows). I had Regency Club access due to Hyatt status and that made the stay much better than it would have been otherwise, since I was able to grab water during the day and have free wine and snacks at night. Without Regency Club access, the hotel's food options would be frustrating because the restaurant and pool bar are more expensive than you'd expect in this town. The snacks at the Regency Club are not fine dining by any stretch, but they are decent and make the room a good value. If you don't have Club access (or even if you do) and are looking for a meal that's slightly better priced, walk to the hotel bar across the street, which has a more local atmosphere than the Hyatt. A great asset to this hotel is the park across the street, which has an amazing collection of pre-Hispanic ancient sculptures. Definitely go there! The park itself is also very beautiful.
