Songbird Cabin is a charming two-bedroom, one-bath, situated 18 miles northwest of Boone, NC. Nestled on a 26-acre Christmas tree farm, it offers stunning views of Grandfather Mountain and Beech Mountain. This cabin is a delightful getaway in every season. It features an outdoor Blackstone griddle, and firewood is supplied for the wood-burning fireplace. Don't forget to check out our new Cardinal's Nest Craft Shop during your visit. For more information, feel free to call or text.
The cabin is air-conditioned and features a kitchen and a balcony, and there's space to spread out with 2 bedrooms. Guests can enjoy a Smart TV and stay connected with free WiFi. Second stay just as amazing as the first!

My wife and daughter and I stayed at this cabin back in February 2021, and decided to come back in January 2025. Our stay was just as amazing as the first stay! The host was quick to respond to any questions we had before and during our stay. The property was clean and the view from the deck is incredible! Since we had been before, we knew to stop for food well before arriving since it is in a remote location. We preferred this for privacy and a peaceful setting. The driveway was a little slippery with the ice, so 4wd came in handy. We got to see snow falling the first night we stayed and enjoyed our trip. The property is beautiful covered in a blanket of white. We can’t wait to come back again!

Amazing!

I can’t say enough positive things about our stay at Songbird! It was everything we dreamed of for our “Christmas Mountain Trip”. Bianca is the best host we have ever had. The songbird cabin is so cozy. We hoped for snow during our stay & we got it! The views were amazing! This is definitely our new favorite cabin and we are already planning our next trip!

This is a must see bucket list kinda thing!!!!!

On fairly short notice I wanted to escape to a beautiful place in the mountains with my dogs. I found Bianca‘s rental and fell in love with the views! The photos were just stunning (which DO NOT do it justice!). This cabin did not disappoint! It’s absolutely breathtaking! I got to enjoy the seclusion of being on the farm while also having a lot of things in nature to do. We hiked around, took the kayak out on the pond and the dogs enjoyed swimming! The evenings out on the deck are amazing. The WiFi and my ability to connect was perfect (given the seclusion you just never know). The cabin is fully equipped with everything we needed, and Bianca was an amazing host. I’m looking forward to my next visit. I have a feeling this is my new getaway spot for sure!

Perfect getaway

My wife and I stayed at the songbird cabin for the week to get away from the city and could not have picked a better place. The location is beautiful, quiet and only 30 mins from Boone. The cabin itself was cozy, comfortable, and clean. It has everything you need to grill outside on the deck and enjoy the views. It was a wonderful experience and we can't wait to come back.

A beautiful way to end and start the new year!

The Songbird will be on ny return list and had everything we needed and some. The pictures don’t do it justice. Beautiful cabin and property! We were close enough to town for what we needed but also secluded enough to enjoy quiet quality family time. Bianca and Diane were amazing and so accessible. So grateful for your hospitality and looking forward to the next one :)

Always a great visit

This was our fourth stay at Songbird Cabin and it was as lovely as ever. Could not ask for a more well equipped and clean cabin, it feels like a cabin without lacking any modern amenities or conveniences. Looking through the guestbook it is clear that we are not the only family that comes back year after year! Bianca was a great host, highly recommend a stay.

Perfect Cabin Getaway

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a weekend and will certainly plan a return visit soon! The host was very responsive and the cabin exceeded all of our expectations. Songbird Cabin was extremely clean, well stocked with all kitchen items, an abundance of firewood and even fire starters for the wood burning fireplace which we thoroughly enjoyed. The property owner/host really thought of everything to make their guests comfortable and it felt like our own private getaway for the weekend we were there. The view was incredible from the living/dining room and the huge deck. We loved how secluded the cabin was and how quiet the property was. As we pulled onto the dirt road to head up to the cabin we passed a beautiful Christmas tree farm and saw three deer near the pond. We plan to stay here again soon and look forward to our next Songbird Cabin experience!

Peaceful and welcoming

Upon arrival, we felt so welcomed. The basket of goodies, the hand written note and the dog treats were an extra special touch. The view was exceptional, and we loved walking around the property to the fish pond. We drove to Boone and back a couple of times, and the drive was easy and the scenery beautiful. Our only regret was that we couldnt stay longer!

Simply the Best

My wife and I have stayed at many different VRBO's and the Song Bird Cabin was by far the best. The cabin's description was exactly as described and the view from the back porch was absolutely breath taking, we never got tired of looking at it. The cabin was the cleanest place we have ever stayed at and was stocked with everything you need. And unlike other places that stocked cheap aluminum cookware, the pots and pans here were made of quality steel. Diane and Bianca were great hosts and provided help for us whenever needed in a timely manner. Many great tips about the area were given to us, which really came in handy. The only drawback that I can see regarding the place, is the drive into downtown Boone, it takes a good thirty minutes to get there, if you are flatlanders like us. I guess if you want the serenity of a place like this, you have to put up with a minor inconvenience.

YES! A must-stay if you want cozy, comfort and stunning views

Property owner was so thoughtful and communicative throughout pricess and our stay. Property waa stunning and cozy! Poured rain most of the time we were there but still a wonderful walk through the laurels and tree farm. Couldn't get enough of the view (even through the fog). Kitchen and cabin well appointed and very cozy. Plenty of firewood on hand. Furniture, bedding and bathroom all very comfortable and we clean. Howmeowner obvious takes great care of everything - nothing dingy or worn. Thank you Diane!

Great stay in the mountains! Being on a Christmas tree farm was fun since you don’t get to see that everyday. Cabin was cozy with everything we needed. Very clean and easy to get to. Ample parking and located central to lots of different options within a reasonable driving distance. Best part was the view of Beech and Grandfather Mountains!
