Too Darned Small

Was excited to stay on the square with the cathedral, but the inability to pull up to the hotel and no elevator plus an incredibly narrow spiraling staircase made getting in and out feel down right dangerous. The room is clean, but unbelievably small; the bath was nice- about the same size as the room! Dinner in the hotel restaurant was pretty good. Petite déjeuner was in a sister hotel down the street and was very good. The diminutive size of the hotel would keep me from staying here again.

beautiful, charming hotel in the center of Vezelay

we loved our stay. rooms were renovated, modern and clean. Hotel itself was very charming and right in the city center of Vezelay. this was one of our favorite stays in France. The restaurant in the hotel had the some of the best food we had on our trip. Would recommend to family and friends.

The hotel has a great location and staff, we felt very welcomed by the manager and all the restaurant staff as well. The rooms and bed were very comfortable. We would highly recommend the SY La Terasse with one warning: there is no elevator and the stairs are narrow and curved. This is to be expected in a building of that age but might not suit all.

Excellent location

Small personal hotel with good kitchen. The petite déjeuner is high quality and fresh. The location is prime. The staff is excellent. The rooms are well appointed.

Very Nice.

SY-La Terrase has nicely renovated rooms in an old building above a restaurant/bar. Everything was comfortable and fairly spacious. Location right next to the basilica is good. Make sure you park at the top of the hill behind the basilica, otherwise, the trip up with luggage will be tough. There is no AC, it is a standing fan and on some nights we found it very warm. There is also no elevator, just a small set of steps. The people who checked us in were very nice but don't speak a ton of English- just enough to get by. Overall, a nice 2 night stay,

Two terrific nights in Vezelay

Just a fabulous two nights in Burgundy - that really would be hard to beat. The hotel is comfortable but stylish, individual but relaxing and the rooms are well equipped. The view from the room across the square is ever changing due to it being the hub of the town but is still not busy. Church bells a little loud in the morning but it did not bother us. Breakfast reasonable value and dinner is exceptional - no need to go anywhere else. The owners and staff were attentive - we will definitely be returning.

24 H dont 1 nuit. Chambre fort agréable avec du caractère donnant sur la Basilique, confortable, très bien équipée. Petite note non péjorative mais à marquer : - prix assez onéreux du petit déjeuner 17€ (englobe bien sûr des œufs, des viennoiseries, des oranges à jus…) - repas du soir (période Rencontres Musicales Août) tjs « imposé » (venons depuis plus de 10 ans) lui aussi avec un tarif/plat assez élevé.

Un émerveillement !

Accueillies dès la terrasse par un jeune homme de l'hôtel, un accueil très agréable. Le personnel nous a monté nos valises, ce qui est rare ! Le lieu, l'emplacement (sur la place de la magnifique basilique sainte Marie Madeleine) et l'intérieur de la chambre sont vraiment très qualitatifs. On y ressent beaucoup de paix dans le respect des vieilles pierres et de leur histoire. Et le restaurant est délicieux. Je recommande ce lieu !

Chambre m éclairée par l éclairage public la nuit

Le personnel est très accueillant, la chambre très atypique par son architecture. Le seul problème qui m a empêché de dormir, il y a l éclairage public qui éclaire toute la chambre malgré les petits stores en plastiques qui laissent passer la lumière. C'est dommage car l hôtel est vraiment très bien placé !!!
