Great find downtown Ventura. Location and price can't be beat. Close to restaurants and bars as well as walking distance to beach. New restaurant attached to hotel. Friendly staff and great service. Easy parking and it free unlike some other Ventura hotels.
The Clocktower Inn is such a hidden gem! It’s just a few minutes walk from Main Street in Ventura, CA. The staff is attentive and friendly. I definitely recommend the The Clocktower Inn for a quiet, relaxing home away from home!
This is my seond time staying at the Clocktower Inn. It's the perfect place to stay in Ventura that's super close to everything(walking distance). Very clean and comfortable and they also have the best continental breakfast. Highly recommend this hotel.
After a marvelous visit last year, this year it is the pits. I called for my reservation, the price was esculated for the nearby county fair but I told the clerk the restaurant was worth the extra price. Upon checking in and taking my grandson all around the town, we came back for dinner only to find that the on site restaurant was closed for renovations and had been for some time. There were no signs posted, just a locked up facility. You would think he would have told me so I could reschedule my visit. It is a quaint old hotel with electric outlets worn out, bathrooms out of date and carpet that need replacing. I feel that they are more interested in the fee than providing a service. I will NEVER return.
Visited to find an extended stay and were shown an awesome room to accomodate 5 of us. Huge tub, living area and kitchen. Even a private patio. Very nice manager who gladly told us about their awesome town
I stayed in this hotel on July 1, 2017. The room was decent. However, it says they have a bar and a restaurant.. both of which are no longer open. The manager said it is closed indefinitely. I paid for one night, one room on my card and was charged for one night, 2 rooms. I have repeated called and have been given the run around by the front clerk named Luisa. The "manager" who supposedly can give me my money back never returns my calls. Do not stay here unless you want to be ripped off.... Plus, there is a loud bar and night club at the corner of the hotel. We had to call the cops at 3 am due to drunk guys fighting outside of our window. This is not a good pick.
The atrium-style building is pretty, if management had housekeeping and maintenance doing a good job it would be nice, but that's not the case. Painting a couple walls began after our large group arrived. I had to request the balcony be cleaned of bird poop. The room was dusty. The small elevator floor had the same dirty markings for days. Dead palm fronds on roof near elevator. Lack of communication between management, maintenance and reception. Poor continental breakfast. The meeting room had a cat wailing in the rafters. Pool out of order.
Stayed in this so called hotel for two nights at the beginning of June. On arrival met by a very sweet receptionist. First room we got was awful smelly and dirty. Second room offered key would not open room. Third room was OK so we decided to stay as we would only be using the room to sleep. The room furniture was full of dust must not have been wiped clean in years. The balcony was full of bird droppings and I mean full of. The hotel obviously had a problem with nesting birds. They removed the nests and just left the nest debris and the piles of droppings on the floor of the balcony. Balcony unusable and smelly. The breakfast area was beside reception in an atrium that could only be described as dirty. All self service and once you left if you did not wipe down table yourself no one else did including staff. Apart from the very pleasant receptionist this hotel should be avoided.
This was my first stop of my trip - they were having tile installed and had to walk all the way around the hotel to get to room. Vesta ,the front desk person, was wonderful and helped me find the room. The room had 2 queen beds but one of them was broken and the window opened up to a wood fence. The shower was decent and clean. I thought it was really weird that they didn't have dedicated parking. It is a few blocks from the beach - though they told me I could walk it in 7 to 10 minutes, bad back and knees so wouldn't try that. There is also a fairgrounds right near the ocean, they have car races there, the sound was interesting, it was kind of fun trying to figure out where it was coming from at the hotel. They didn't run too late.
Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Spa present but not available Room card key function not working well however staff was helpful to remedy Staff was friendly Breakfast options were fairly limited
