Generally quite pleasant. I had to change my original room as the decor was simply depressing the fan and lights in the bathroom made a horrible noise, and the view was terrible. The second room was nice with a fireplace and more privacy. The problem was a venue a few doors down that played loud music even during the week. ,

We stayed in a double queen room that overlooked the park. It was spacious with lots of windows. It is an older California property that could use a little touch up but that was more than made up by it's ambiance and great staff. If you want Holiday Inn stay there, if you want California cool this place is great (as is the attached Agave Restaurant)

I booked a Deluxe Queen Room with a balcony but was disappointed because one of the lamps on the night stand didn’t work, the other lamp the light bulb had a piece of cartoon around it to hold it in place . There was an iron but no ironing board. They had just cleaned the carpet on the hallway and they had two fans to dry the carpet that were turned off till after 10pm. Definitely not what I expected.

Overall it’s an ok hotel. It’s older and a little run down. The room layout was weird and the air conditioner was broken. Check out was at 12, my 4 month old was sleeping and I was waiting until the last minute to wake him up, hotel manager knocked on the door 20 minutes before 12 to ask me if I was staying another night, he made me feel like I needed to get out. It wasn’t the worst hotel experience but definitely not the best.

The continental breakfast was very low quality food, to the point that my youngest felt sick after thinking he was drinking orange juice when it was Sunny Delight instead. After paying $200 a night, I imagined they could afford actual organge juice. It was clean, a close drive from the beach, and the staff was nice.

For the amount of money that the hotel charges, it was less than expected. The wifi didn't work half the time, I had to pull the plug out of the wall to turn the heat/AC unit off because the knob didn't work, the first full day that I was there maid service showed up at 5pm for the first time and asked me if I would like the room taken care of and when I googled the gym that is listed as one of their amenities I discovered that it closed. This amenity should be removed from their website. When I checked in I asked if I would be charged at that moment for my room or if it was when I checked out. I was simply told, "When you check out." The answer should have been followed up with, "However there will be a charge held on your card." Not knowing this could have significantly affected my financial situation as I would have chosen a different form of payment if I had known this.

Overall a nice stay but there were some shockingly unattended maintenance needs... the main one being an AC outlet with a huge crack exposing the live circuit where one of the two prongs goes in. In the worst place, the bathroom! Definitely unsafe especially for curious children.

Very nice hotel in historic Ventura, beautiful room with jasmin trees in the entrance to the room, jacuzzi, nice breakfast. Overall fantastic.

This hotel is next to a bar that plays loud music until 2 am, even on a Monday night. This is not the hotel's fault, of course, but I asked the night clerk to move me to another room at midnight. She was rude and aggressive, interrupting me as I tried to speak to her. When I entered the new (and quiet) room facing the parking lot, a cockroach zipped by when the light went on. The rooms were clean apart from the unwanted insect. The next morning I moved to the Ventura harbor Sheraton for $20 more per night. In all I had a memorable experience at the Clocktower Inn but not in a good way.

Strong smell, AC/heater not working, dirty bathtub clogged.
