We stayed here with a school trip and was actually prepared for something worse. It wasn't that bad. The room keys weigh about 2 pounds which was unusual. The elevators are very small, the pillows are like bricks and the breakfast food was average. On the bright side, because of its location( tucked away) its quiet, the shower pressure is great and the fridge and safe worked. If you're on a budget and you want to see Venice, I would suggest staying on Lido and ferry over, but if you want to see the downtown mainland this hotel is alright .
Great room, with lots of details in the decoration and comfortable and cosy room. Place is nice, just aprox 15 mins walking from Venice-Mestre train station and 5 mins from Venice-Mestre centre. Good service, friendly staff. Breakfast was ok.
Walking distance to restaurants, tram, bus and bars Very dark and old decor but room was clean Small room and very hard bed Small bathroom Parking onsite but not under cover Reception very helpful and you can buy your team tickets from them to travel into Venice which is about 15 minutes on the tram. Trams run frequently.
This hotel is one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed. First of all it's very very old dated, there are carpets on the walls of elevators. The rooms are extremely old dated, dark and boring. The door of the shower cabinet was broken.they put plastic glasses in the bathroom. Al though the hotel is 4 stared, there isn't any kettle in the room, actually there is nothing in the room.Air conditioning is very noisy,it's hard to sleep. We asked for hot water and they charged 50 cents for every glass. It took at least 30-40 minutes to get to Venice by tram.
I'm a New Zealander travelling on holiday with my daughter through Italy. Having completed the legs in Rome, Florence, Pisa and now visiting Venice, I managed a booking through Booking.com for 3x nights at the Michelangelo Venice Hotel. The hotel was rated 4 star and room tariff was less than NZ $100/night...very affordable. E I arrived by train from Florence...the Hotel had arranged a meet and greet and our arrival at reception at 2pm was seamless. However at reception we were told check in was not till 3pm...so was told to wait 1hr in the lounge. Not ideal for weary travellers...finally we were shown our room on the 3rd floor. It was not quite what I had expected for a 4 star hotel...some lights didn't work in the bathroom...fridge didn't work....no basic tea or coffee making facility in the room...and I had requested 2x single bed and was given a double to share with my daughter. Not the start I had hoped for. As evening approached I had rung through to reception requesting if there was somewhere we could make a cup of tea...we were asked to give them 7min....30 min passed and no response. This necessitated a visit to reception to rectify....20min later tea was made and we brought it up ourselves. My daughter also asked for hot water to fill her hot water bottle as the night was chilly. It now became farsical, as the next morning the tea was charged at Euro 2.50/ea...with a charge on hot water at Euro 2.00. A 4 star hotel charging for hot water was beyond my comprehension...plus guest services in the evenings was below standard due largely to the lack of staff. On the positive side...a substantial breakfast was served between 8-10am...it's not free and one needs to make sure when booking that you specify breakfast, for which your room tariff will be raised. The hotel is situated in Metre about 15min by taxi from the rail station and 20min to the airport. Transport into Venice was simple as trams and buses leave at regulations intervals within close walking distance to the hotel. There were a variety of eateries close by and grocery stores. All and all our stay was comfortable enough but I feel the hotel is over rated at 4 star and service not to the standard required of a 4 star establishment. It was very average. Peter Blake
We have been regular customers, but on this last visit we have noticed that the standard are very much declining, pity because over the years we always had a good stay. I hope that something will be done soon!! Upon arrival there was some austerity issues with the central heating, it could only come on at 17.00 till 2.00 so when we walked in the bedroom it was beautifully hot, but by early hours of the morning it really got very cold, the noise of the Fan-coil is seriously unbearable keeping you awake all night. After spending my first night with a woolly hat on, I reported the issue and the heating times were extended to 6.00 am but as we never got up before 9.00 the cold was still very much a problem. The breakfast, although inclusive, was not worth it. The breakfast room was seriously cold and the coffee very artificial!! A serious look at the bedroom lighting is also paramount, the lights are so dim and badly placed that makes staying in the bedroom depressing!!
This is the worst hotel in town , no internet, no heat crapy bathroom broken shower, and worst of the customer service. I don't know how this hotel shows as a 4 star hotel, from my experience, it is not worth it as 2 star !!!!! Forget the cheaper price you will regret it every minute of staying here.
We were moved here after being overbooked in the Delphino. Steps up to reception with heavy cases. We upgraded but not even a kettle in the room. Bathroom had lovely jacuzzi bath , shower holder broke, no shower curtain No quilt, one blanket, asked for another but None available. Hotels fault not the staff. Breakfast was poor, fruit was tinned, no fresh. egg(see photo) yellow type cake. Would not recommend this hotel apart from coming out and turning right will take you to a indoor shopping also a outdoor market which is interesting. You can buy your bus ticket at reception then catch the 4L bus to the main bus terminal in Venice then walk 30 mins or catch water taxi 7 1/2 euros which will take you to the Rialto bridge or st marks square.
overall not very good. the hotel looks really dated, carpet floors and walls everywhere. the bathrooms are really hendious. the breakfast was poor. there was no wi-fi connection on the rooms and the wi-fi signal in the reception was annoyingly bad. I couldn't figure out how to connect the power plugs in the room. I was cold and asked for heating in the reception, because I couldn't turn it on in the room, and they told me without any explanation that they wouldn't put it on. however, the mattress was so good that I didn't even know where I was when I woke up. the localization is ok, not in venice, but well located in mestre, a nearby city.
If you enjoy entering into places were the time has not passed by, where the floor, wall, ilumination, doors, elevator and room are like traveling into 1960, this is your place. Not recommended at all. Not sure why Europamundo the travel agency choose this place... Not good.
