We always stay at the Expo when we go to Moto GP and for 10 years it has been fine, but no more! It has become a loud, brash BRIT'S ABROAD hotel - avoid the bar it was just full of loud, foul mouthed Brits We fully appreciate that the hotel can do nothing about the type of customers but sadly for us this was the last time we will stay because of the class of customer now using the hotel. Perfect location for metro station and bus station, about 1km from old town and near the airport and circuit. Bedrooms reasonable size, clean and comfortable.
Having inadvertently travelled from Alicante to Valencia, by bus, we realised it would be midnight befor we got a return bus and it would end up at the "bus station" in Benidorm. Easy option seemed to be to stopover (we did have passports with us for checking in), Expo hotel just around from bus station and we were fortunate to get booked in: May I hasten to add by a lovely, helpful receptionist from Budapest. Room good size but basic,(needs a freshen up) but comfy bed, lovely bath and toiletries.(This hotel backs onto a shopping centre with play areas and delicious food in food court. Especially in el rey Istambul). Given map and directions to old town. Yes we had found the real Spain! Worth a visit. Saturday and visits to churches with families and babies being christened. Lovely.
Great location, this hotel is within a short walking distance from the bus terminal(we arrived by Alsa bus) and there is a big shopping mall right beside the hotel with a lot of shops and restaurant. The lobby looks decent and most of the staff were very friendly and efficient, except 1 of the young lady with very unprofessional face all the times. The room is sufficient for 3 adults, which I believe is a normal twin/double room with an additional bed, it will be more spacious for twin sharing. The bedding and decoration are quite old but at least clean enough. The bathroom though really need some upgrade and maintenance. The door is unable to be closed properly and the ceiling was shaking all the time when we try to open the door. This is a good option for budget traveler.
we stayed at the expo hotel for a week in october, the location was good, close to Turia metro station and bus stop, although the hotel needs a bit of TLC rooms are clean with efficient daily housekeeping but no tea and coffee making facilities flat screen tv but mostly spanish chanels, 20 minutes walk to old town turia park is 5 minutes from hotel and 30 minutes walk to Biopark. Overall a comfortable stay well located and not expenssive i will use again if in valencia.
We reserved this hotel as it looked nice both in their web and Booking - FAIL! When we arrived to the hotel, the hall decor was already showing decay but when we opened the room door was even worse. The hotel pics versus reality was just overwhelming smashing. The decor was from 1980's and the cleanliness was an issue... We went to the pool to check it out and the first thing we noticed was the strong sewer smell... just disgusting...! Even thought, the next day we've gave it a try again, the same!... Also, I think it is the first hotel where the pool has no towels available for the guests... Check the pics correctly before you reserve this hotel.
First impressions were that room and bathroom looked very tired but they were clean and comfortable enough. The staff were very helpful, supplying a hairdryer and sewing kit immediately on request. Breakfast ran from 7-11am so, although there was a large student group staying, there was plenty of time to find a peaceful corner to enjoy the best hotel buffet scrambled eggs I have eaten this side of Thailand. Tip: the 'coffee' from the automatic machine is undrinkable. You only have to ask a member of staff for a cup from the barista machine to set you up for the day. The Piano Bar is a pleasant enough space to relax with a nightcap after an evening on the town. It closes at 1am. The only disappointment was that on our October trip the roof terrace was closed for the winter. This seems crazy as the weather beats any English summer with people sitting outside in short sleeves until late at night.
Me and my partner checked in around 11pm monday 23rd oct. (Taxi from the airport extortion price.) We were greeted by a lady to check us in, she did just that with no extras. We got no other information and even had to ask where breakfast was served. Anyway the room was basic and smelt of smoke with a window that only opened maybe 2 inches? But it was clean. The breakfast in the morning was great, good selection of hot and cold and nice fresh orange juice! The location of the hotel is fab right near a metro stop and bus routes! There is a shopping centre on the back of the hotel that has some nice food outlets and good shopping! The beach is about a 30 mins bus journey and all buses cost €1.50 pp per journey. The main town is only a 20 min walk away, we used Google maps alot due to the fact we kept getting lost everywhere looks the same in the old streets! All in all this hotel is good for somewhere to sleep, but if you need any information be prepared to wait in a que for around 10 minutes to ask reception anything.
The Expo hotel is a big basic three star situated close to the ring road. It’s a bit worn in places but it’s clean and the staff are friendly, perfect if you're looking for a hotel on a budget. The location is convenient enough and the old town is a leisurely 25-minute stroll through the park and its many sports facilities.
I really had a pleasant stay in the Hotel. There's a good 20-minute walk to the Center as google maps say but i'm a slow walker so that took me around 30-35. Room is alright, it's a little dated but not a problem with the money i paid for it. Hotel pool is great. It has some good crowd, good music on the side and great views of Valencia for sure. Bar is excellent. Tourist prices but worth the money you pay. Everyone smiles. I was happy with my stay! :)
Older but clean and comfortable hotel. Very good breakfast but had to contend with 3 bus loads tour groups. Extensive views from roof top swiming pool. Taxi to airport for plane to Ibiza next day about 15mins 20 euro.
