I very much enjoyed my stay at Scandic Julia at Turku. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was very comfortable, well equipped and clean. And breakfasts, well, the breafasts were just amazing.
Stayed two nights on a business trip. The hotel is located very centrally but at the same time it is easy to reach by car and has an indoor garage within the same building. Both check-in and check-out were smooth and the front staff were friendly and professional. The standard room was quite spacious and well maintained, with a large bathroom with standard amenities. Despite being on the 2nd floor and facing an intersection, the room was very well soundproofed as I could not hear any noise from outside, which was a big plus. The bed was a standard hotel issue, comfortable enough for a good night's sleep. The breakfast selection was rather large, fresh and tasty. Overall, I would recommend this hotel especially for a business traveller looking for a well maintained, centrally located hotel.
Very late arrival but everything went smoothly. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good but the replenishment of empty trays was slow during rush hour and the buffet wasn't easy to navigate. My room was quiet and tidy but the bedding was more or less on the cheap side. The bathroom was tiny and only with the bare minimum of bathroom products in dispensers.
The room was clean and comfortable. The service was fluent and friendly. The hotel's location is excellent, right in the centre of Turku. Restaurants, shopping possibilities, Aurajoki river and public transport connections are all nearby.
We had a superior room but decided to downgrade it to a standard room as all the superior rooms are at the second floor. There is a pretty busy street downstairs and it was also weekend so we didn’t want to take risk of noice from the street. Breakfast is great. Location is central and plenty of great restaurants nearby. The standard room was good but not luxury. There are on the other hand not much better hotels in Turku as there are no new or newly renovated hotels in town.
Scandic Julia is situated quite a walk from the Turku railway station. Don't believe the Google map which tells you that the distance is one kilometre, it's more like two. The hotel entrance is a bit funnily located on the second floor of a business building, it's a little confusing to get there. The first surprise was the service - usually the staff in Scandic is really friendly but not here in Turku. No hellos at breakfast or from cleaning staff in the corridors. The second was the fact that the room was really small - when you got out of bed you had to be careful not to bump into the wall! And the third was that there was no gravad lax in the breakfast buffet. Alltogether would not recommend this Scandic straight away. Too far from the railway station, service not like it should be and the standard rooms are really small.
Clean and comfortable quiet room and exellent breakfast, actually brunch. Practical grocery store downstairs in the same building. The reception is situated on the second floor with escalators from the street level. Easy to book, reservation was confirmed immediately by e-mail. I slept well :-)
Located in the heart of the city. Definitely not a best looking hotel from the outside but does it job. Reception is in the second floor and rooms at the same level or above. In the the 1st floor there is convenient mini market. Breakfast was good.
Nice hotel, nice rooms. Our room was on the 2nd floor and some bus noise could be heard to the room until 10 pm. After that the road got silent. On previous visits we've had room at upper levels, and those rooms have been silent. Nice basic breakfast, and extra credit to the hotel kitchen staff, who rescheduled their morning so that all the young gymnastics had a good breakfast before their competition. Jes! Out room was ok tidy, some extra hair on the bed shield and a bit dented floor, but I think it was still ok for us. The staff was allso nice on our short visit. Car parking at the hotel costed 13,50 €/night. Quite a lot, but we found no other place to park when we arrived at the evening. And have to say that it was handy to go straight from the lobby to our car by elevator. Evening snacks were easy to purchase, because there were a grocery store (Lidl) at the basement floor.
Nice hotel with good standard. Hotel was fully booked so I got upgraded to a superior room. Nice room with plenty of space. Unfortunately I didn´t have time to use all facilities. For breakfast a lot a choices are available. Smooth check in and out. Why are the Friends vouchers not valid for snacks?
