The Hotel is very good located at the square in Turku. Stayed there for a couple of times and the room toward the square can bee quite noisy. An annoying detail is that the two last times there has been no reading lights at the bed and not possible to operate the lights from the bed. When i asked about it at the reception they just said that they are waiting for new. So they must have waited for more than a month... Plus for the Sauna on the top floor.
I stayed one night during week for business. I had heard the Hotel should have a nostalgic feel to it and I was looking forward to experience it. The staff was friendly and room clean, however there was no old glamour in the room, just old and worn out. The breakfast room has the magical old style nicely preserved. As it was during the week it was fairly quiet so no chaos or queuing, basic continental breakkie, no complaints there. My whole stay was ruined because of noise. My room was in the 2nd floor meaning close to the Nightclub. I was literally up several hours during the night. And you can image how fresh I felt the next morning in my business meeting! The staff brought earplugs in the middle of the night but it did not help, and it continued till 4am. I would never ever stay here again unless I get a room as high up as possible. The french restaurant is worth to try, tasty and value for money.
Old hotel middle of Turku. It has been there always, but now it needs renovation. Room and bathroom are clean, but needs facelift. Continental breakfast, lots of choices. Several possibilities for lunch or dinner, very busy bar in the evening.
We made a city trip to Turku to attend our son's football little league tournament. We stayed 1 night at this hotel. Reception staff is very friendly and extremely helpful, an absolute plus to this hotel's operations! well done, fast, efficient and good knowledge about the cities do's and don'ts. We were assisted by a lady called Hanna, who was just the epitome of a perfect hotel receptionist! well done. The rooms are clean and spacious but a bit dated. The hotel is housed in different buildings all connected through a maize of corridors, hallways and elevators. very interesting setup but as I said, clean and comfortable. No extra luxury or amenities just simple and sufficient . Everything works. We had dinner in the hotel at the local "Pub" and service was again very nice, albeit a bit slow. food was correct not very tasteful. The only letdown was the breakfast in the morning. No real egg station for an English style breakfast. so no eggs, beans and bacon...just some scrambled egg mouse and meatballs, must be the Finish interpretation of an English breakfast. we found the selection a bit lacking for a proper power breakfast.
Best known hotel in Turku. There was great pub restaurant downstairs. The traffic can disturb in the lower floors. Mine was ok (3rd). Probably quite expensive but it’s nice to have everything nearby. Good service!
I am absolutely satisfied- good location, good rooms and friendly personnel. Only disadvantage is the early closing of the bar, but there are many other possibilities around the corner. Nice and scandinavian style furnished- rather nordic.
Good basic service, very average and standard rooms with nothing fancy. Good sleep quality. Renovation would do good. Big and complicated building with rooms in different buildings. Ideal location. Friendly staff.
Well, what can I say? Location is perfect and breakfast good enough but that's about it. All the furnitures, carpets and bedwears are straight from the 70's. Quite awfull to be honest. Highly overpriced.
Short walking distance to the main attractions of City of Turku. Riverside is just around the corner. Restaurant downstair is nice but often crowded. Breakfast was quite ok, though crowded, too. Rooms are quite ok.
The outside of the hotel looks a bit tired and in need of a coat of paint but it's location is right next to the main square so ideal for sightseeing. The rooms are large and reasonably furnished. We were surprised not to have a room safe. On the seventh floor there are multiple saunas and a swimming pool to give the full Finnish experience. There is an adjoining car park. The breakfast is traffic lighted to warn you when it is busiest. We found it wasn't too crowded and there was a good choice of hot and cold. The staff were friendly and helpful and spoke perfect English and explained how local buses worked etc. I'd stay again.
