In a need of some renovation. There is nothing wrong with the hotel, but I don't think it's worth the price. The breakfast was really average with dry-ish vegetables. The location is perfect and we had a nice view out to the market place.
I live so far away from Turku, so when I visit the Åbo Svenska Teater I must stay over for a night. This hotel is a convenient chose, when it is situated at the same square as the theatre. The hotel is nice; I think they had made a makeover at the rooms since last time I was here.
The hotel is old and not all rooms are renovated. I personally got a room in the end of the endless corridor 3-4 min walk from the elevator. The room was very basic but decent. The only problem was a mattress which is totally unhealthy for people with back problems. The breakfast is very average . So , there is no reason to book this hotel unless you are set there by your company and no other options are available.
Room was a little bit noisy and we could feel near the windows that it was windy outside ! The breakfast was good but there was a lot of people so it was difficult to get a table and it was very noisy ,coffee was good .
Good rooms with all that you can expect. Centrally located at the Salutorget/kaupppatori square - the airport bus stops at the square. Not an impressive gym - but the cooperate with a gym nearby. Good morning buffet (no espresso).
All of the staff were very friendly and accomodating. I stayed on the sixth floor and still could hear some noises from the town square. The room was okay, it just could’ve used a bit of a touch up. The floor had lots of markings and some of the wooden furniture had broken corners. Also the bed seemed very cheap and the duvet was way too thin. Pool was really good, went in the morning and was able to swim completely solo. There is no gym, just a room with a not so good bisycle and some weights. Sauna changing room was very nice and you could get slippers in there (not in your room, only in the changing room). Breakfast was very good, went there around 7, so it was very quiet.
The location is perfect. You cannot get any central than this. The service is fast and kind. The breakfast buffet had lots of options. I stayed in the 2nd floor and I was waken up by laundry (?!), buss and partying students. That being said, my colleagues had no troubles sleeping. They stayed at the fourth floor. So, ask a room from the upper floors and you will be fine. :) I chose this place cause of its old (highly appreciated) reputation. If I could have slept, I would like this place. There is a restaurant /bar downstairs. I recommend checking it out. The bar is a nice place to chill.
Big and stylish rooms that fulfilled our wishes and a great location - the centre is just downstairs and out of the door and there is a restaurant and bar in the building. Excellent breakfast and very friendly staff.
While my room was spacious, well maintained, modern and quiet, the restaurants and hallways definitely need a makeover. As rooms appear to have different quality standards, take care to book wise and maybe ask for a different room. Very good location at the central place close to bus stops and not far from railway station, university etc.
We stayed only one night here; the front desk was always busy, very crowded with in and out traffic. The elevators were quick, and the rooms were immaculate and facing the city square, so it was fun to watch the vendors and tourists across the street. All in all a nice place to rest. We didn't have time to explore the facility much, but the night was quiet and we all slept well.
