Radisson Blu Marina Palace Hotel, Turku4.0 out of 5.0

This place is, I believe, the best in Turku. Hotel is very welcoming and the staff is really helpful and kind. The reception area is fine but the bar area needs some work. Spa is ok, but I would have liked to see more equipments in the fitness. Rooms facing the river are big enough and clean , nothing fancy. This hotelmis ok but does not leave any WOW effect. But special thanks to the staff.
We stayed at the Radisson Blu because of its high ratings and reputation. The hotel is fine, but not worth the premium over the other hotels in town. The location on the river is nice, but the hotel is not particularly close to the city's two main attractions -- the cathedral and the castle. Our room was very small and a little worn out. It overlooked an uninspiring street. The beds were okay, but nothing special. The bathroom was cramped and institutional-looking. Breakfast was good, with some tasty salmon. We paid $180 for our room, which was at least a 20% premium over comparable hotels. The hotel is perfectly fine, but definitely not worth the extra cost.
We stayed one weekend night at Radisson BLU, our first visit at this hotel. All the staff at the reception was friendly and easygoing. Our room was facing the river, very nice view! The beds were comfortable and there was a pillow menu available. At 09.30 on Sunday morning there was so many guests at the breakfast, that the staff had difficulties to fill all the food as soon as needed. But there was so good pancakes! All this is worth of four stars rating. But the noise outside the hotel (there are several boat restaurants) was disturbing until late and that is why I give only three stars. If you pay more for the river view and need a quiet room (as we asked when we made our reservation), you must have at least earplugs with you (on weekends, the reception told that on weekdays this is not a problem). The windows are not sound proof. The location is nice, easy and nice walk by the river (10 to 15 minutes) to the city center.
I stay at this hotel four or five times a year for business reasons. This was yet another excellent stay from start to finish. Staff are warm and friendly, restaurant serves great grills and is a pleasure to eat in. Location on the river is lovely and it is only a short walk to the city centre in one direction and to the harbour with its marine museum in the other. Will be staying here again when next in Turku. As a Club Carlson loyalty scheme Member, the upgrade to a business room was much appreciated.
Location is great, walking distance from every major place in city center. Staff was smily and friendly. Our dog was treated like royal. If wanted, you don't have to go anywhere from the hotel, there is nice bar, really good restaurant, nice gym and breakfast was more than nice.
This hotel faces the marina at Turku and is centrally located. On either side of the marina, you have nice walkways alongside the road and a stroll there in the evenings is very relaxing. The town itself is quite charming. The hotel has all the Radisson qualities, comfortable and spacious rooms, very comfortable beds with different kinds of pillows to suit individual needs. There are coffee/tea making facilities and a mini bar. We had very light dinner ordered through room service that was very prompt. The breakfast was excellent. Eggs made to order and a lavish spread. The service at the breakfast hall and at the reception was very good. Quite happy that we chose this place.
The location of the Radisson Blu Marina Palace Hotel is great - just enough outside of the hustle & bustle of the main center of Turku and right on the river Aura which is beautiful. Unfortunately, the hotel is incredibly dated and the common areas reminded me of my college dormitory. With just a little love (new carpet, paint, artwork and some furnishings) this hotel would be so much more enjoyable! We stayed in one of the business class rooms (larger than a standard room) and it had some problems. Every time you use a light switch there is a LOUD clicking in a circuit breaker located in the closet. Beds are also incredibly firm and pillows were quite uncomfortable (even when we ordered a "luxurious pillow" from the Blu menu, it was exactly the same as the one that was supposed to be a soft down already on the bed...?) The shower was a huge problem as well - even the shortest shower would cause the entire bathroom floor to flood (awful design and pretty gross - they even include a squeegee for the floor to mop up water after your shower). This caused my husband to use the gym shower instead every day. On the plus side, the hotel does have a sauna (separate men's/women's) that was hardly used and the morning breakfast included a lot of variety and was enjoyable. Our check-in staff was not very friendly but everyone else we encountered during our stay was quite nice.
The accessible room was very accessible with lots of space and a great bathroom. We were very lucky to have the river view which was lovely all day. Breakfast was okay but a bit basic (Don't go for the scrambled eggs!) All the staff were very nice and it was very clean.
Check-in and Check-out took a lot of time and overall quality of service in reception was not in the expected level. Hotel room was good, clean and quiet, good bed and air condition works well. Hotel's restaurant was good and service very good. Radisson Blu Turku location is quite far from the city center. Overall, such a slow and poor service by the personnel connected with "not so good" location, this is overpriced hotel.
This hotel is like many of the Radisson around the world. You kinda know what to expect The standard is good, the rooms clean, and the service is great. Nothing fancy, everything functional. The breakfast here is rich in choices. The city center is within walking distance.
