Absolutely beautiful beach and boutique hotel ! Love the natural decor , the furnishings and restaurant on site !!

My girlfriend and I stayed here for three nights. We stayed at the dune room for two nights and then the sunset suite for one night. The first night the AC shuts off in the middle of the night and the remote stops working. It was about 100 degrees in my room. I had to go to the front desk at 5am to have my remote re programmed. Night 2 it was ok but night three in the new room, the AC shuts off again and the remote needed to be reprogrammed at 6am this time. Seems like it happens a lot at Dune as even the security guard knows how to program the remote. Not sure why this hotel has not upgraded its old outdated air conditioning units but heard the same complaints from other visitors as well. However they were more fortunate as AC turned off during the day as opposed to the night. When I told the front desk about having to wake up at 5am for two nights to fix my AC, the fellow in charge Jorge took off 600 mxn from the hotel restaurant. So basically my total bill of three nights. $1700 was reduced by around $60 for having to endure the out dated air conditioners and waking up at 5am. Word of advice. If you don’t mind the heat dune is great but expect terrible and outdated AC units that needs a “work around” every time it shuts off. Pray it doesn’t happen in the middle of the night like it did with me.

We stayed one evening in the Hotel and we're told to leave the Hotel the first day we were their due to a storm. No refund from Orbitz and no response from the Hotel. This has been going on for months. We checked in on time and we were forced to leave.

Truly amazing from the front desk reception(Claudia)and their recommendations . The manager Lalo went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. All the workers in the restaurant(Carlos,Silvano) were so gracious and welcoming. I highly recommend and will be returning. The food was fantastic and our room was beautiful.

Excellent location. Friendly staff. Clean beach.

Our stay at the Dune Hotel Tulum was fantastic! The service was impeccable on all levels. From the front desk to the restaurant staff, everyone was extremely friendly, helpful, and always went the extra mile. We were even upgraded to a two-level suites with ocean view on the last night of our stay. All in all, this boutique hotel lives up to its eco-chic expectations. The rooms are comfortable, very simply decorated, and functional. Just don't expect all the space and amenities of a big hotel chain. The hotel offers free bicycle rentals, which comes in very handy if you want to roam around the strip. We went as far as the Tulum Ruins to the north and the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve to the south (both a 35-min bike ride from the hotel). The free breakfast is copious and very tasty. The restaurant is entirely underrated: We had dinner there three times and the food was absolutely delicious. Do yourself a favor and eat there instead of wondering around the area in search of other places. For the price (US $20-30 per person for a nice two-course meal without wine or cocktails), you'll eat much better than anywhere else. The only negative aspect of our stay was the sargasso, a pesty seaweed that has invaded the entire Coast in recent months. This made swimming in the ocean nearly impossible. If you like spending hours in the water, research the latest conditions before you travel. But this was of course completely independent of the hotel, which we otherwise recommend warmly!

Excellent property.. Excellent staff. Very attentive, great location, beautiful beach area. Would return in a heart beat.

It's a beatiful, quite hotel with very bright clean rooms, very cozy. Very nice beach, pretty restaurant with amazing view. Oceanfront rooms are gorgeous. Nice bathroom. Amazing stuff, front desk people, Rally and Sofia. Fernanda and Natalie helped us a lot, dealing with airlines, shuttles, etc. Originally we booked the basic room wich was very nice but got an upgrade for ocean front and that was unbelievable. Breakfast was included and it was a lot, fruits and eggs and juices. Beautiful beach, yes lot of seaweed but all over not just this hotel, I assume it depends on the season, clean, beautiful water though. Very cool pool and really tons of places to take amazing photos. It seems that staff really cares about the place that's why they make you enjoy your stay. Thank you to everyone, it was a beautiful week!

We absolutely loved our stay here. The hotel staff were beyond helpful with where to go and what to do in Tulum. The grounds and rooms were very clean. The free breakfast was a great add on and you have the option of two restaurants. They always greeted us and were always very attentive when we came in and out the hotel. They have onsite bikes that you can rent for the day. Natalia was super helpful in setting up our return transport to the airport and also had a very cute surprise left in our room in light of our recent engagement.

It was a great location right in the middle of that busy Tulum beachfront hotel strip. A drink was made as we arrived to check in. The choice of 3 complimentary fresh and delicious breakfasts were great. You could not go wrong with any choice. All the staff were so nice and helpful. The lounge chairs by the beach were so nice to relax in and enjoy the beautiful and pristine white beaches of the Riviera Maya. In-room safe gave us peace of mind as we went on day trips to see other places near us. I read reviews as I was searching for a hotel to stay, and the reviews were right on target. It was certainly worth the price paid and would stay there again in a heartbeat.
