My Partner and I stayed here for a weekend we got off Luxury Breaks. The Initial introduction was fabulous with an inviting Reception and friendly receptionist who checked us in. Our room was a bit smaller then expected for the price same with the bathroom which had the toilet in a separate room to the "Main Bathroom" which consisted of a Shower and Bath. The room was Clean for the most part and all was well except for a Beeping safe and buzzing mini fridge that kept us awake most of the night which was not ideal. The main saving grace of the hotel was the Food! The Breakfast and dinner has been lovely and a real treat to look forward too with a great selection. Unfortunately where the hotel lets itself down is the Bar. Atmosphere in the bar is sadly lacking as it is way too bright and overly lit which does not make it a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy a quite drink or have a laugh. The bar is in serious need of an upgrade and to change its Drab Decor. Showers within the hotel are very Cramped with no power and just seem very old. All in all Mount Wolsley is a Nice hotel very basic for a 4.5 star hotel, saving grace is the Food and Staff were nice but needs an upgrade.

We spent a very pleasant weekend in Mount Wolseley Hotel and enjoyed it immensely. The hotel is very nice indeed, looks elegant both inside and out with comfortable seating areas, public bar with entertainment at night and a restaurant which serves food to a very high standard. The staff were friendly and nice and were very obliging and helpful. We ate in the restaurant and were very pleased with the standard and quality of food as well as the very attentive service. Breakfast was varied and is served until 11am which means that the mornings don't need to be rushed. The bedrooms are very comfortable with separate bathroom/toilet with a bed and pillows which allow a very sound night sleep. The room had tea/coffee making facilities, a safe for personal items with an iron and ironing board. My only complaint was that our bedroom had an interconnecting door to the next room and we could hear the TV and voices into the early morning. Neither my wife and I used the spa, sports centre or golf facilities but they looked to be fabulous and the golf course itself looked to be a very high standard. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

We stayed for a Saturday night in July. The building is quite nice, and the grounds seem geared towards golfers - we didn't sense any trails/paths/ options for walking around the grounds. There also appeared to be insufficient parking for all hotel guests and golfers - not something we'd expected to be problematic for a hotel away from urban area. We had dinner in the restaurant. The food was far better than what we had expected, but the staff seemed harried and did not pay a lot of attention to details (forgotten cutlery/ bread/ water). Our bedroom was okay but the temperature control didn't seem to provide any kind of A/C and was quite noisy. The leisure centre was somewhat dated, and staff seemed oblivious to families with at least 1 parent and 1 child not wearing swim hats in the main swimming pool. Not the kiddie pool, but the main swimming pool. The jacuzzi was quite small, and a group of women insisted on all coming in, even though their group meant the numbers inside the jacuzzi surpassed the stated capacity. Staff were nowhere to be seen during any of this. There are lockers in the womens changing rooms but lots were broken. There was a singer in the lounge bar on Saturday evening, and there was a decent atmosphere, even though the lounge was insanely bright. (Dimmer switches anyone??) While there was a wedding in the function room, it was mostly separate. (Wedding guests used the same toilets as the bar guests). Breakfast was okay - again the staff seemed really harried, and struggled to keep buffet going and tables clean. We considered the spa but the prices are really expensive - actually more expensive than a 5 star we stayed in earlier this year. My overall conclusion: the hotel might have aspirations of working towards 5 star, but honestly, part of the service failed to meet 4 star standards. At least we had a good deal for our stay.

Booked here for two days of unwinding and relaxation, and its exactly what we hopes for and more. Thank You to all the staff for making our stay as perfect as it was. Highly recommend this hotel, staff were verg accomdating and friendly.

Was really pleasantly surprised with the size, comfort and cleanliness of bedrooms. Food was excellent. If using Spa, ensure that, not alone are you shown facilities but also how to use them. Med experience was just wonderful but I had to wait until one of the therapists came into the Spa to ask her to put it on for me.

Lucky to have stayed here on four separate occasions over the past 2 years through work (12 days in total) . Every stay has been fantastic. From the warm greeting at reception, you feel right at home from the get go. Staff wear a smile on their face which just highlights their enjoyment of the work and all the managers were on the ball too. If your looking for a break away you won't be disappointed. Plenty of great offers available too.

Stayed here for two nights with my husband. Room was fabulous, couldn’t fault it and the food was lovely. Found the bar/lounge very big and lacking coziness but that I suppose is just a personal opinion. Left two bottles of make up in the room and a jar of clarins moisturiser - all almost full. Discovered this when I got home 2 hours after check out. Contacted the hotel straight away and the person I spoke to said she would check and get back to me. Had to ring a second time as I got no return call and this time whomever I spoke to asked me to e-mail. Did so and got a reply to say ‘housekeeping staff found nothing in the room’ Considering we came straight home after check out, it’s safe to say that I definitely left them there. I explained this and got the same reply a second time. Surely they can trace who services the rooms and if anything they should be glad that I brought it to their attention. This sort of behaviour would surely impact on potential repeat business. Considering we spent two nights there, spent money in the restaurant/bar etc I would have expected less of a flippant response. I appreciate that the onus was on me to pack everything and check the room before I left but it has put me off going back if I am to be honest.

This hotel was such a let down. The service was terrible. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. We received soup spoons to eat our dessert I do know its not the end of the world but when you are paying for service YOU'D LIKE TO GET GOOD SERVICE

From the moment we arrived it was just a fabulous stay, we really loved everything about the hotel. Staff are fantastic so attentive, efficient and so friendly! The food was just superb, breakfast and dinner!! We look forward to our return visit!!

Overall great service by staff. Staff were very friendly, accommodating and professional . Restsurant : great service , food not so great. Starter : Seatrout tartar exquisite and creative. Pate inedible , full of fat. Main: chicken moist , side salad no effort made , tomatoes were disgraceful for a hotel. Salmon over cooked , potatoes and carrots cold and full of butter. Desert : cheese platter lacked variety in cheeses all white and portion size too large for one person. Sinful waste. Breakfast: good breakfast . House cleaning: abominable. Literally saw an attempt made to make the bed only but for a hotel you would think they would experts at cleaning rooms, not so much. Hairdryer fail and requested a replacement, replacement never came. Spa: a little small. Bookings not so available so be sure to book in advance. Thermal suite average . Room: stayed in executive suite, not so executive . Shower tiny, can’t swing a cat in it. Bar food: no chicken wings when ordered when it is listed 3 times on the menu . Recommendation : There are better places but worth it if you get a good deal. Area: everything closed Sunday. If you like golf you will love the views. Recommend sensory garden and Rath wood. Decoration : old school needs an upgrade .
