It's been a little while since our last visit and again we had a very good lunch, main course only. I think we could say this location is reliable in it's standard of providing a satisfying lunch for a really fair price. Again the staff were pleasant to deal with and helpful. We will be back again!
Stayed here with friends for a night out in carlow. Checking was with Emma, very friendly and quick check in with a run down of where everything was. Lobby looked fab all decked out for Christmas. Room was very clean and overlooked the river, snow covered it was stunning. Shower in the room was powerful and you could stay there all night, lol. Breakfast following morning, lady who served us was so nice and friendly & the breakfast even with all our different options was served perfect. Definitely would return.
The hotel is amazing. It was everything I could have hoped for. Everyone was so accommodating and cared so much. Clare Kavanagh worked so hard with us to make our day perfect and I can’t recommend her enough. The food was amazing. So much so everyone was coming up to me to tell me how tasty it was and I agreed. The Ferrero Rocher cheesecake was so tasty. Their soup was the best I had ever tasted. We will be going to them again in the future for any occasion possible.
Have been to the Dolmen hotel for an evening meal. The hotel is clean and has plenty of parking for guests. Staff were very friendly and provided great service. Food wasn't great to be honest and was very overpriced for what we got. Portions were small in size and weren't even hot coming out despite the restaurant being quiet on the night. It is a nice spot but will not be returning as I felt the food was overpriced for what you get.
Came in for a full Irish breakfast driving by this morning. The hotel has an amazing new funky look. Breakfast was pipping hot with a lovely buffet area with fruit salad etc.We got a lovely welcome from there very dapper manager Colin who in my opinion is the face of this hotel. He is extremely proud of the hotel and u can see this passion when u talk to him.Big shout out to the two lovely girls that served us. Lorraine and Maureen. This hotel is going from strength to strength in Carlow town. Keep up the great work
Stayed here overnight on arrival the reception service was brisk and very formal. Bedroom was clean The bed very very soft. The room was cold on arrival it was freezing and raining outside thought a bit of heat wouldn't of went amiss . Arrived for breakfast not sure if he was the manager or waiter that met us to be seated but we were told to go to the tables in the right and it was self service. We went to were he pointed out but there was only 2 tables available both left with Delph from the previous people I stacked as much on a tray as possible till we could get someone over to clean them. Finally after approx 10 minutes I got the attention of a waitress I asked if she could remove try and the clean table she took the tray I had filled and left the rest came back with a spray bottle and sprayed the table and I was covered in the spray all over my right side and arm . I said god I'm covered in bleach spray as that what it smelt like she continued to spray and she rudely said it not bleach you be fine. She didn't even offer a cloth to dry my arms as I'm sitting there dripping wet down my right arm looking for a serviette to use it was embarrassing . Staff just seamed to be unavailable breakfast was tepid and glasses for our orange juice were covered in lipstick .very disappointed but hotel did look nice and decor was nice also but it will take more than that to go back I expected more
The service in this Hotel couldn't have been better the room was very clean only negative was the shower could do with updating beds were comfortable & room tidy .I would definately recommend this Hotel to family & Friends we came from Wexford it is just outside Carlow town but access to town & amenities not a problem beautiful for weddings or special events or just to drop in for a bite to eat & a beverage we will be back thank ye for a lovely stay .
A popular hotel just outside Carlow. Friendly welcome and good quality food. Room was clean, tidy and beds were comfortable, if a little soft for me. Would definitely recommend and stay if I come again.
I’ve got married in this hotel and ever since I can’t stop going in for something to eat as the staff are just wonderful and it is just a brilliant place to go and relax and enjoy the lovely views. They have a fairy garden which is very popular with my children they love to look around it to see if anything new what there and make up stories about the different fairy’s. Since the hotel got a new look it’s really modern and has a great warm feeling to it throughout the whole hotel.
I recently organised a seminar and overnight party with the Dolmen Hotel and my experience was exceptional. The staff were amazing, particularly, Colin, Ashlee, Ruth, Laura, Brid and of course Willie. I have been booking this hotel for similar events since 2011 and always a very positive experience. Thank you all for your kindness!!
