"I don't often have reason to give a poor review for hotels I've booked through Expedia. However, I have to say a few things this time. My wife and I just finished enjoying several hotels over the course of ten days, all booked with the app. On cost comparison alone a Radisson Blu in Vancouver which we stayed in a couple of days prior was well appointed and included a night desk clerk as well as free shuttle to and from the airport and costing only a small percentage more. This rundown motel in small town Ontario reminded us of the shoddy ones that used to offer cheap overnights along the U.S. interstates in the 70s. There were a half dozen dead houseflies strewn about below the window and on the sill. The gap between the bed and window was a foot or so wide, where they lay. A few more clung to life on the ceiling, worrying me that they might fall into an open mouth during the night. They were scattered in other parts of the room next morning. Paint was chipped from the walls and some ceiling plaster seemed ready to fall as well. The electric baseboard heater tops were stained with rust and baked dust. I used to believe that the folks at Expedia might do some vetting of the hotels they offer but now I'm not so sure there is that diligence. Guess I'll have to spend some time reading the review section more thoroughly. Burned on this one."
