Very very reasonable price. Excellent excellent staff. Nice and quiet. Very clean. Good offerings. The hotel has a very nice small dining area for breakfast and for an evening cocktail. Couple of restaurants within walking distance. Highly recommend.
We had a very nice room on the third floor. Good view, clean and the service was excellent. Good coffee and pastries. Got there at sunset - even though it was raining we had a beautiful sky scene to welcome us.
I was so disappointed with this stay. We didn't realize the hotel didn't offer complimentary breakfast and NO complimentary coffee in the lobby. Though the room was spacious it was not cleaned as it should have been. There was dust (thick) and trash behind the night stand. Hair in the bath tub - not ours. There were no condiments in our room for coffee. I went to the front desk to ask for cream and sugar. The man (wearing a t-shirt) at the front desk was laid back like he was watching tv. I asked for the cream and sugar. He pointed over to The Bistro and said they had plenty.... He acted like I was bothering him and he didn't want to move from his seat. Not helpful at all. If we are ever back in this area we will stay at the Hampton Inn which is adjacent to the Courtyard. We won't stay here again. The lack of appreciation for your guests, goes without saying. I don't understand why this Marriott Courtyard charges for everything. No perks to staying here... I am disappointed in Marriott..
Since this stay was just me while my daughter was at freshman orientation at the university I didn't bring a swimsuit and was glad I didn't. I walked out to sit by the pool, it was dirty and cloudy so I wouldn't have gotten in anyway. While the room was clean the a/c didn't seem to regulate the temp very well. The staff was courteous enough, no one was outstanding or extremely helpful or friendly. The room had dust on the lamps and a carpet stain by the nightstand. Overall ok, just not what I usually get at a Courtyard.
This place was extremely dissatisfactory and a disgrace to the Marriott brand. There was a light out above the kitchenette, the coffee pot was both defunct and unclean, there was a sandal left under the sofa pull out, which was also broken without sheets. We requested that someone bring sheets to us but were told we'd have to go get them--we'd already gotten ready for bed. If this is the best this city has toffee, keep driving.
First the positives: Spacious Room, Very Comfortable Bed, Truly Friendly Staff. The Bistro food was very good. The pool was clean & the common area was a nice touch. The negatives: Although the room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable, it wasn't any nicer than the Super 8 down the road. The TV had black lines running down the screen, the lamp shades were stained and one was even broken. Although the Bistro was supposed to stay open until 10 pm, I went down for a coffee at 9:30 and they turned out the lights and were closing up. Please hotels-keep your promises to your guests. A similar situation happened to me previously at another hotel where hot coffee was promised 24 hours, but the receptionist refused to make a fresh pot(not this hotel). Also, no free or continental breakfast, in fact it was $30 for two people to eat breakfast. All in all, our stay was good, but not better than an average experience.
We recently had an overnight stay in Troy, Alabama and have started using the Marriott rewards program. We choose the Courtyard with out first checking the reviews - "shame on us" because I always check the reviews. We are Gold elite members and upon checking in, (which we did get early check in on one of our rooms we had booked) we had to wait for the other room to be cleaned. The hotel is fairly clean and appears to have a nice new feeling to it if you don't observe too much. We are use to being offered water and a snack upon check in's at our many Hilton property stays, but no such thing at the Courtyard. When our other reserved room was ready, the girl who had come on duty was really confused on how to proceed, so the morning employee had to tell her what to do. ( that set off a red flag). This property had a Bistro and brags about having Starbucks coffee. Okay, great... but folks if you think a fresh cup of coffee in the morning is awaiting you downstairs (free of course)... it isn't. Your going to pay some high prices to have that cup of coffee and even a bottle of water. Nothing is complimentary at this place. We opted for a local gas station large coffee and spent 2 bucks. Our rooms were on the 2nd floor, upon attempting to exit our rooms to go to the store, the entire hallway between us and the elevator was covered with maid carts, bags of trash, trash cans and dirty linens. It was like going through an obstacle course, with the employees just ignoring our struggle to get to the elevator completely. Upon our arrival back, a young man with a rolling trash cart entered the elevator at the same time as us. I asked was 2 okay as far as pushing what floor on the elevator, he only shook his head one inconsiderate time. No words, no "thank you" ...nothing ! There is an outside area outback, where the pool is and an area to sit as well as an electric fire pit. this area has not been cleaned, and there were numerous bugs everywhere. The business center is two computers, one printer and we observed children just sitting there for hours using the computers to play games. The insulation or construction was cheap, because you can hear every single thing above you and around you. The room was clean for the most part, but it's like the maids swept the dirt from the rooms into the hallway and then just left it. Upon checking out, there was no one attending the front desk and three families waiting to check out, finally one of the individuals went to the back office and got the attention of the attendant. We are frequent traveler's and the service we were given at this hotel was one of the poorest we've ever received. The lack of appreciation for your guests, goes without saying because Marriott Courtyard is going to charge for anything and everything. No perks to staying here. Sadly disappointed in our stay and wish we hadn't wasted our points on this hotel, needless to say we won't be staying at anymore Courtyards by Marriott.
I would have to say this was the worse Marriott we have ever stayed. The hallways were disgusting. Food, ceiling light fixture on the ground and very very very noisy !!! Not to mention that the every time the person in the room above us moved the ceiling sounded like it was going to come down ! We were in room 227. Midnight guests still at firepit drinking and being obnoxious and loud. I called front desk to ask how late do they allow guests to stay out there. His reply "all night"! I said that is completely unfair to the rest of your guests trying to sleep. Our first and last stay there !!!
Why are there no garbage cans??? There were no garbage cans at entrance, or by the elevator. There were cups and cans lined up on a table by the elevator. The same cups stayed on that table for my entire stay. The rooms were loud, I could hear people walking around on The top floor. I would pass on staying here again.
I stopped overnight and hoped to conduct some business before hitting the road the next day. The 'business center' consisted of two dumb terminals and a laser printer. I could not open a word or excel document on one of the computers (message was not enough memory). The other had no printers installed. I tried converting the files to .pdf in my room and printing the pdf files from a usb drive but while I could open the file on the office computer, it would not print. While I was writing this review, the wireless went out and then came back. The visit wasn't all bad. The reception clerk was extremely efficient, helpful and friendly. And the place is cheap for a Courtyard. But I wish I had checked out the property next door. MAybe next visit.
