Quiet location with extra large living room, dining room and kitchen. Ideal for multiple families or large groups. Trout Lake is centrally located to all the UP has to offer: Tahquamenon Falls, Garlyn Zoo, Mackinac Island, Soo Locks, Pictured Rocks, Oswald Bear Ranch, Kitch-iti-kipi and many more! Large front yard and plenty of room for parking. Watch the eagles, swans, cranes, deer, minks- all from the front window of the living room! Close to town for dining, nightlife or groceries. My 4 sisters and I really enjoyed the location and the layout of the house. The beautiful view and privacy were very nice and the bedrooms are divided up and gave us privacy, with the kitchen and living areas in the middle, very nice layout. We messaged the host about some things and she was quick to respond. There were plenty of supplies for our needs and the beds were comfortable. There were a couple things not working properly and a couple areas could use some deep cleaning but we still enjoyed our stay and had a very good time. We brought some firewood and had a fire in the firepit, put together puzzles, played games, celebrated the 70th birthday of one of our sisters on the sunporch, took walks in the area, watched the ducks and wildlife and really enjoyed the tranquility of the area. We also went to Mackinac Island one day, was only about 35 minutes to get to the ferry in St. Ignace so very convenient. We would definitely stay here again if in the area and would recommend to large groups because of the roomy house and grounds.

This property was very clean and spacious. The only thing that would make it absolutely perfect would be if it had a covered porch facing the lake. We enjoyed our stay and spent a couple of days trail riding which are numerous in the area. We would definitely stay here again.

Check in was easy, we had the code before we arrived. The property is beautiful! The photos don't get across just how beautiful the view is and how wonderdul the lake is! We brought our kayaks and enjoyed paddling around the beautiful lake, seeing the loon family, heron, ducks & geese everyday. The stars are amazi ng at night! The house has a big kitchen with plenty of space for everyone to move around comfortably. It's stocked with everything you'd need. Nice big family room. Our bedroom was huge, but did not have a closet or a dresser and we had to live out of our suitcases. Some rooms have a bit of storage space, some do not. Master sweet is great with a perfect view of the lake. If you like it dark when you sleep, bring a sleep mask. Hosts are very quick to respond and were very understanding when we had an incident with a window. This was a great find! Frenchman Lake is fabulous!

If I could give it a 6 star I would. All 10 of us were delighted with the accommodations. Our Host and Hostess supply almost everything you will need. Food and drink are about all you need to bring. Tastefully decorated home,huge bedrooms,spacious bathrooms, 2 dining areas, not including the fire pit. Ample parking for 10 guest, their trailers etc...Did not to leave but works calls. Ran into our Hosts downtown. Great people,with great communication. Will definitely book this home again. 6 Stars....

Great location!! Wonderful views, located close to the sxs trails. Rooms were large and cozy, kitchen was very roomy and had everything we needed!! Very hot water and great showers!! Plenty of room to spread out and still enjoy each others company!! The sunrise was absolutely breathtaking as well. I would definitely stay here again, it was exactly what I was hoping for.

Relaxing with wildlife

Great place. Beautiful view of the lake. It was nice watching the ducks, geese, goslings and deer. The house is clean and comfortable. A few things that would've made our stay better are extra blankets for the beds, throw blankets in the living room to use while watching TV, and luggage racks in the bedrooms. As info to others considering staying here, there's not much around this area. The one restaurant/bar in town that was open during our stay does have good food (great burgers). And there's one small market that has the basics. The house is about 30 mins from St. Ignace where you catch the ferry for Mackinac Island, it's about 50 mins from Sault Ste Marie, and 50 mins from Whitefish Point/ship wreck museum.

Perfect rental for side-by-side weekend

This home was perfect for our 4-generation group! It was roomy and had a large driveway/parking area for our trucks and trailers. It was fully stocked with everything we needed and the kitchen was nice and large so we weren't tripping over ourselves. We even spent a little time lounging around the "campfire" (even though we didn't light a fire) and the kids did a little fishing. We would absolutely stay here again! Thanks for a wonderful home away from home!

Perfect Place to Getaway

Our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This is the second year we’ve stayed here as it’s close to the trails for riding our side by sides. The house is well stocked, exceptionally clean, and in a beautiful location on Frenchman’s Lake. (Trout Lake is a great little burg to stay in - The Buckhorn Inn is a great place for food and drink.). Jeanne W has done a wonderful job making this home so comfortable that it’s like a home away from home. We will be back!

Great family rental

This was our 2nd time at the property and it was every bit as good as we remembered. Great space for families (or friends) to get together and enjoy a beautiful, quiet setting. The house is well equipped. The owners are very responsive to questions. Loved it and looking forward to visiting again in the future.
