Beautiful lodge

Stayed in the mid century motel. It was very clean and had nice 1950s decor. Room was very spacious and comfortable.

Snack and drinks in room were great!

The room was absolutely beautiful and the private beach was amazing at sunset

Beautiful serene landscape and immaculately decorated boutique hotel. Every detail in the room was unique and special. Can’t wait for them to open the restaurant!

We loved the antique feel of the place. A tv in the room woukdnt been nice to have though.

What a wonderful find, Birch Lodge and Motel! Several friends told us about this property and it worked out that we could stay! The location is private and sits on a nice lake. We booked the motel as it was drive up to the door which was easy to unload the car. The owners were very friendly and helpful and jake the dog was a bonus! We enjoyed the firepit and everything we needed was available! Be sure to plan your dining in advance as the options in the tiny town are limited! We did take out and it was just fine! I would highly recommend the Birch Lodge and Motel and hope to get back for a longer stay in the future!

I can’t say enough nice things. In some ways I want to keep this place to myself but that wouldn’t be fair to Jim and Carol who are the BEST. Going to Birch Lodge is like being a kid home from college for a weekend with the most doting parents ever. Every detail is taken care if, there are snacks and drinks in your room, the building has been restored beautifully and decorated with such class and elegance every room makes you smile. We visited during the pandemic and every precaution was in place. Oars for the kayaks were sanitized after use, masks were always worn in the building, coffee served in disposable cups. Wonderful. The second we stepped in the lobby someone was there asking what we needed. One morning I was headed out to sit and read while the sun came up, Carol offered me a wool blanket and pointed out they were washed after each use. Just awesome, I haven’t felt this relaxed in five months especially not away from home! The bed linens are divine, they haven’t missed a detail. The lake is quiet and serene. You really can’t go wrong here. If you want adventure simply travel 30-40 minutes to see the sites and then come back to heaven. One note to travelers...eating in trout lake is a CHALLENGE!! Especially during a pandemic. The Birch Lodge will call you in advance and warn you about this and heed this advice. They are not kidding. There are three restaurants, and they are “up north” places. Bring a cooler!

This place is awesome! The owners are friendly, they have kayaks/rowboats for use (free), a bonfire at night, bag toss, complimentary snacks/water in your room upon arrival, and a cute dog that lives on property named Jack. Also, it’s not too far from Pictures Rocks (about 2 hours) and Tahquamenon Falls (about 45 mins). Lastly, I felt very safe there from COVID-19. My husband and I can’t wait to stay here again.

The owners have done an excellent job of renovating this property. The rooms are excellent. The beds and pillows are excellent. it is a quiet place with a beautiful porch and rocking chairs. Wonderful sitting rooms everywhere. The owners are very helpful about guiding you to fun places to eat and have fun. Take a rowboat in the lake.

Great owners. Fifties style hotel. Quiet and peacful.
