La Battigia is a beautifully located hotel, and so open and spacious. It has beautiful views and amazing sunsets. The amenities are OK, you go there for the pool and beach, nothing else. I would give this a 3 star for quality, but the service is incredible (at the hotel, the restaurant outside is actually terrible). Also the view is to a privilege.
We spent a week at the Hotel Battigia last week. The setting is amazing with its own private beach and pool complete with umbrellas and sun loungers. The staff all spoke English and couldn't do enough to help, including helping my dad when he thought he'd lost his wallet. Thanks to everyone! The rooms are very comfortable with either a sea view or garden view and air conditioning. The breakfast was very varied and the croissants were very tasty. We didn't have dinner in the hotel but the menu was quite similar to lunch, which was lovely and served on a terrace overlooking the beach. The Hotel is well situated for day trips to Palermo, Erice, Marsala and Selinunte. Definitely worth a return visit!
The hotel itself is great! Lovely location, helpful staff! Our stay was definitely a pleasant experience! The restaurant of the hotel is an other case. The service is super slow, the food is only mediocre at its best! We had to wait 2,5 hours for a simple pasta dish. It 's a complete rip-off!!! They sell Alcamo wines that you can buy at any store for 6 EUR for 15!! This is one way of making profits I guess!! Avoid at any cost!!!
The title says it all. Me and my grandmother were visiting Sicilia and chose Hotel La Battigia. And it was a Win Win situation, because of the quiet suppers with a sea view and wonderfull food and for me the beach bar, young locals over there and friendly staff. I was even lucky enough to participate in a beach party with decent Dj's :) was amazing. Special thanks to one of the Battigia staff members Mahammed Wezzy. Without him my vacation would have been extremely boring. Not mentioning that he was one out of 3 people who spoke fluent english in Sicilia :D He introduced me with locals, showed the area and nearby Alcamo village. Helped me with my cliff diving searches(there's no safe place to cliff jump in north Sicilia), drove me around with his scooter and I event attenden locals footbal math. He became my guide, my translator and a friend. Peace and love.
This review is only for the beach restaurant at La Battigia. We had strolled a few km down the beach and called in for lunch midweek. The restaurant is close to the hotel's main building. Service was good and efficient but a little stiff. We took Secondi & dessert. Mine was two small but delicious fillets of Sea bream with chick pea creme & (not very delicious) mussels, the chick pea cream was like thin mashed potato - uninspiring but allowed the subtle flavour of the fish to shine. My partner had Filet Vitelli in balsamic vinegar- rich, tasty, a good portion but served on 2 pieces of bread which did not add anything to the meal.. Half bottle of Sicilian Chardonnay with it was very passable. Nice desserts. Had to go into the main hotel to pay by card, but this was no trouble to me or them. On the beach at side of hotel building, good service, coped with our poor Italian. Recommended
We stayed there with a boyfriend in late October. Our first plan was to stay in Palermo for one night, but it is just a horrible city. We found this hotel on booking and just decided to go. It is a really nice hotel. The beach is perfect. Long and sandy. We were there when there was almost no people and the season was ending, but we like quiet and easy going. Rooms are nice and clean, breakfast is good. People who are working there are really nice. We asked for late departure because our plane was leaving after the official check out. Definitely recommendable.
It was not our type of destination... hotel it's in a nice location... restaurant at a good level... room very basic... swimming pool small, service basic, overpriced for what we paid and it seemed to me that they were some package tourists with much cheaper bookings
Have a room with sea view and if possible with big terrace Staff lovely including beach guards Main drawback only a couple of local restaurants within walking distance The area as a whole has lots of sites to visit
Because of our holiday house which we did book in advance turned out to be quite different than described, we were forced to move into the only opened hotel in April in Alcamo, after one day of travelling by plane and car. We means, our two little kids and our friends with their baby. Our short stay at the Hotel La Battigia did compensate a lot! Before we checked-in we were shown several room options by a very friendly receptionist called Lucia. We choose a room with a terrace on the ground level facing the sea & beach and the swimming pool area. The room was spacious, clean and bright, the Internet worked unexpectedly fast. During our stay Lucia did her utmost to help us in finding a new holiday house, she advised how to deal rental prices the “Italian way” and was always incredible sweet and service orientated. We must say that all of the employees we met were really nice! The dinner we had at the restaurant, which by the way offers a wonderful view of the bay, was an astonishing experience. Every dish was freshly prepared und very tasty, the recommended wine and digestive fit perfect. We can absolutely recommend this hotel, even for a longer stay in order to explore its surroundings and enjoy the wonderful beach. Thanks again to Lucia & the whole team for their great help, finally we had a wonderful time in Sicily!
This is only hotel on this beach at Alcamo Marina . It is difficult to locate as it is on a closed off road and is on other side of a railway . When we got there we were received well and were given a choice of rooms . It is right on the beach ,has a restaurant, and a beach cafe . Rooms were good ,clean and were cleaned every day. The food was good in both locations and was reasonably priced . We would return .
