Lesson learned. Put your Do Not Disturb sign out before going to bed because at 8:00 housekeeping knocks once, says "housekeeping", knocks again and then walks in. Not enough time to get out of bed to answer the door. I have never been to a place that does this. Check out is at noon and at 9 we had a walk in. The staff is all predominantly very young women. Unable to check in more than one guest so we had to stand in line for 20 mins to check in. Clean. Fairly quiet. It's a small town so I guess.......
Another good Holiday Inn Express stay. This is an older property (perhaps 20 years) and well maintained. The public areas are large and they have a nice swimming pool area. They had yummy soft sugar cookies available at check-in. I had booked a king bedded room but received a double queen. This room didn’t have a desk - instead there was a small round table with two chairs on either side. I called and asked about the possibility of a room with a desk. The clerk said she wasn’t sure if any had desks but would show me a suite. This room was an impressive single king, two room suite and it had the needed desk. The clerk said, as a platinum, she could upgrade me to that room. I was appreciative but thought “well…if my king room I reserved wasn’t available then wouldn’t I have received an upgrade to this room at check in?? I did not ask why I was initially placed in a double queen. The room was clean and comfortable and had a wall mounted HVAC unit in each room - I liked that the air from the unit did not hit me in the face when I tried to sleep. There was only one negative about the room - the sheets were awful. They were heavily pilled (both top and bottom) and felt as rough as badly laundered flannels. It took me a long time to fall to sleep due to those sheets! The bed was fine though. I did not do a speed test so I can’t provide specifics but the internet seemed lightening fast here. Downloads happened in mere seconds. This hotel offered the best internet of our four week trip and I was very impressed. They had a manager’s reception with beer, wine, soft drinks, tortilla chips and salsa, cheese and crackers and a veggie tray the night we were there. It was a very simple reception that was available from 1730 - 1830 but it was welcome, I understand the reception is held two nights a week. We stayed on a Wednesday so YMMV. The typical HIX breakfast was on offer (I love the 1% fat chocolate milk and the egg white omelets). The coffee and juice were both tasty. All items were well supplied and replaced during breakfast. The breakfast room was very large and could accommodate everyone. This hotel is too far from a major hotel to have the USA Today available but they do have a local paper. Finally they had three recycling containers in the lobby - paper, plastic and cans. I appreciate hotels that encourage recycling. I wish guests other quests would not pile in their bags full of old carry out trays full of discarded food into the recycling containers. I found this when I went to put a bottle in the plastic container!! Come on everybody - recycling only works well when the recyclable items are not tainted by garbage and other non-recyclables. This stuff has to be sorted and it makes recycling much more expensive. Let’s be conscientious.
Upside: The hotel is beautiful and clean, check in was fast and accurate, good options at breakfast, nice manager's cocktail hour. Downside: Water damage in the ceiling in breakfast room, water damage on the ceiling in our bathroom on 1st floor, no hot water when hubby took his shower. In closing, probably best hotel in Torrington.
Stayed here for 1 night for business. Hotel and room was clean, breakfast had lots of options and was very good. I was surprised I didn't hear the train since the tracks are across the street. The workout room had 2 treadmills and 1 bike. I only used the treadmill and it was adequate. Overall a nice stay!
Called into the front desk while we were in Cheyanne heading to Torrington, but the front desk's person could not give me the same price that was on the Holiday Inn Express website. She stated she did not have access to that price, so I just booked it online, other than that hiccup the check-in process went smoothly. Rooms were clean and well furnished, everything worked as expected. We ate at the breakfast bar before we left, they had a selection of beacon, eggs, toast, bagels, cold cereal, and fresh fruit. A great place to stop for the night.
The Holiday Inn Express in Torrington is a good place to stay. The rooms are clean and the people behind the front desk are helpful. One of the main things that I liked about this hotel is they have a little happy hour from 5:30 to 6:30.
This hotel is well worth the price and the quality cannot come better. The hotel has a fine hot breakfast, Evening hors deavors and the staff is one of the best I have ever met. The pool and hot tub are always clean and well maintained. Like the title states it is the best hotel in town. There is no comparison to the others in town.
Hey the staff was good, room not the cleanest but comfy otherwise, Breakfast was fine. Wish they had a rating between really good and average because they were above average but not really good but good.
We reserve 3 or 4 rooms for the weekend. Our annual pheasant hunt. We have been staying here for years. We can always count on clean rooms. The breakfast is a typical Express breakfast. It is the only place in Torrington we will stay.
stay here on our way to cody, wy on motorcycles. Seemed like it was recently opened with really nice large rooms. Had a very large selection for breakfast. It was filled the night we were there but it was very quite in our room.
