My family and I stayed at this location this past weekend on our way to Mount Rushmore. When we went to breakfast the biscuits actually had blue mold all over them. The lady who was responsible for the buffet was indifferent when we mentioned it and the other employee was to busy making her breakfast plate to notice what was going on. I would have expected some sort of response from management once we brought it to the hotel's attention, but nothing. I hope no one else ate the biscuits this weekend.
We planned to stay in Torrington and picked this from the AAA app, but did not make reservations. It was everyone you'd expect from a Holiday Inn Express. Everything was nice. The staff was helpful. Beds comfortable, room and bathroom clean. Good coffee, good breakfast. I would stay here again.
Reception is organized and very polite. Breakfast is very good: 3 types of eggs, sausage and bacon, lots of yogurt, cereals, breads and even a roll/danish with a go box. Clean area, lots of tables and 2 newpapers. Room was nice sized and clean. Shwer never got hot enough but ws okay. They have 3 WiFi channels and I got not the one I needed the first time. @nd time it was very fast. All in all nice pleasant stay and price was reasonable.
Great service , best breakfast, omlets, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, cereal and room! Nice to have hot water ! Seems I am not the only one with the same problem? Great swimming pool and exercise room also !
This hotel is a little older but well maintained. Front desk staff was friendly and accommodating, rooms were updated and clean. My only complaint is it seems like they have the hot water at a low setting as I had the shower turned up all the way and it still wasn't hot.
Everything great for us! Modern room, love the easy plugs for electronics and the K-cup coffee in room. Comfy bed. Love the accessible walk-in shower for me. Staff very helpful. As in all these free breakfast hotels, we only take another coffee and fruit for road.
Enjoyed stay and was impressed with how hotel handled crush of people for the eclipse. Service did not suffer, breakfast food did not run out, and they even provided cake and snacks during the eclipse. Nice grass and tree area to sit and watch the event. Yes they took the opportunity to exercise supply and demand pricing but gave something back that made the stay a pleasant one
I was on a three day trip to Iowa, South Dakota and Nebraska to hike the highpoint in each state. I stopped in Torrington on the second day before heading to Nebraska and home to Oklahoma. The check in was quick and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable and met my needs. The hotel is just off a major highway and there are train tracks on the other side of the highway. While I would suggest a room on the North side, mine was on the South and the noise was not an issue for me.
This was the worst Holiday Inn Express experience ever by a great margin. First, we called the hotel numerous times to book a reservation and no one answered the phone so we finally booked through IHG. Upon checking in with the less than helpful clerk, we went to our room which seemed fine until we tried to get on the internet. After numerous tries, we called the front desk and again no one answered our initial calls. Finally, we got through and the clerk blamed the issue on our iphones telling us their internet didn't work with iphones. Really???? Half the world uses them!!!!!. After rising the next morning , we were greeted to no water at all. No hot or cold in anything, sink, faucet or shower. After yet another call to the front desk, they said they were "working on it" and it did finally turn on. When we went to breakfast, we were greeted by numerous flies which were on everything and on everybody. You couldn't eat with the pests and given they were on everything including the food, we left as did everyone else. The place was poorly maintained as well as the door to the pool was out of order so you couldn't enter the pool from inside the hotel. In our room, the sink the plunger didn't work. And to wrap this all up, the price was $180 for the night without a single apology for the flies, lack of water or unfriendly staff. Its was utterly dreadful.
We stayed in a suite with family. The room was. Ice and clean and beds were very comfortable. However, I would have thought we would have had 2 bathrooms. 4 of us had to share one bathroom and the suite was fairly small. Breakfast in the morning was good but we had to go find the attendant as the hot food was depleted. The food was great!
