Almost shut down for the winter. Did not know that when i booked a room in the spring. Restaurant closed. Have to make a 10 miles drive for dinner. Swimming pool closed. Nearly abandoned. Very quiet right now. Nice and clean room though and friendly staff. Internet connection is good.
During our latest trip to Lake Powell, we chose to do day trips out on the lake and stay at the Ticaboo Lodge. The rooms were clean, the Wi-Fi was fast and the staff was great. Being able to come in every night and shower was awesome. We also loved having a fridge in our room so that we could eat breakfast before we went out for the day. If you’re staying in this area for adventure or boating I would highly recommend the Ticaboo Lodge. Highlight of the trip was Leslie at the front desk and all the help she gave us.
Reservations and check in was very easy. Front desk ladies were very nice. Here's where we go bad. Got to the room and it was at least 90 degrees. Kicked on the a.c.and it barely trickled cold air. Thought we would go to the restaraunt and let the room cool, Maloki is the name I believe, which was heavily advertised and even pulled up a menu online. Looked good, got there and it was a disaster. One person working and we were informed that all they had was cheeseburgers and tacos. Nothing from the extensive menu that was so heavily advertised to get us there with again no ac so we left and drove to the grill that was in the gas station. Got back to the room and it was still hot and now the tv didn't work. Called front desk about ac and tv. Response; "We don't know how to operate the tv and your room isn't usually one of the hot ones" huh? So you can't operate your own tv's and you actually rent knowingly hot rooms? People you are in the freaking desert for Christ sake. You need ac. So we opened the window and due to the birds nest outside of room 222 the screen on the window had been eaten and birds were pooping and trying to get in. So either attack of the birds or be hot. We chose to be hot. I fixed the tv even with the exposed wires hanging out the back. Also none of the doors going outside the hotel lock. At first light Sunday am we packed up and drove home. Thank god we had a good day on the lake Saturday.
For the sake of needing a room near Bullfrog Marina for the night this was the best we could find. Seriously not many choices for a room so we gave $180 to stay in a dumpy, low amenities travel lodge. Low security, exterior doors don't lock or require a key/card for entry. Bathtub was growing mold in the tile and caulking. Hot water was warm to hot but shaky at times. You'd think the hot water heater was on E. Nearby restaurant/ice cream/gas, not great. Pick up what you'll need for the night in the nearest town. Pack a picnic and fuel up elsewhere. However, the staff were delightful hence my 3 star rating. Thank goodness the service was friendly.
My son and I stayed at Ticaboo Resort while fishing at Lake Powell. The room was comfortable. The air conditioning in 100 plus weather was flawless. Pleasant front desk. We didn't eat at the restaurant but we did have ice cream (excellent) and the food we saw looked really appetizing. Only negative was that the outlets to charge trolling motors did not work.
There are so many great things I can say about this place, I don’t even know where to begin. The rooms are always so clean; the staff is fantastic, helpful and friendly. I love sitting out by the pool, barbequing with friends and family while enjoying the desert.. that's paradise to me. I recommend this place to everyone and I can’t wait to go back! Thanks for the memories Ticaboo!!
Overall my family and I had a good experience at the ticaboo resort. The resort staff was friendly and the hotel offers a good morning coffee. We also enjoyed the Saturday night family movie. The service at the restaurant was very slow and the food took a long time due to limited staff. However the waitresses were very nice. The hotel's property needs to be better maintained, pool had issues and lots of ant on property.
Went to ticaboo to meet family. Stayed in the resort...there's a ton of stuff to doin vacinity..lake powell. .hiking trails....atv trails.. Resort was clean...pretty...with a friendly staff. Beds were a little hard...but was wortht the stay.
Great location about 10 minutes from lake. You pay a lot more a night if you want to be on the lake. Room had Direct TV which was great since there are no stations in the area. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. They have to charge a little for ice otherwise it would be empty all the time during the summer. Mini refrig and microwave in room. Have stayed before, and will be staying again.
I have always wanted to explore the amazing canyons around Lake Powell but had no idea where to start. I just came back from a scouting trip near the Bullfrog area where we had the best canyoneering tour I have ever been on. Ticaboo Resort provided a guided tour for our group of scouts that was amazing (shout out to T.J. and Jordy). These guys were very impressive and made sure we all had a safe and fun tour while we took in some unbelievable scenery and fun repels down the canyon. I can’t wait to get back and see the crew at Ticaboo Resorts with my wife and kids so we can take on a few more of these endless canyons.
