Highly discouraging anyone from booking this shabby hotel. Towels are dirty, service is terrible and discrimination to Asians is prevalent. The manager is unapologetic and even offered bribes. HORRIBLE
The hotel is beautiful and peacefully. The room is clean and renovated. The service was very gently. The pool was clean and quiet. The food was delicious. That is my first recommendation in Tveria. Regards
I would highly discourage anyone to stay here. First the rooms are literally the size of closets and to request a regular hotel size room you obviously need to pay for it. Second and most important the rooms are filthy not to mention in disrepair. We got to the room there was leftover wine from the previous guests as well as the garbage full including dirt diapers and pizza boxes strewn across the floor. We told the front desk but instead of giving us an immediate clean room they just informed us they would clean it later. The only reason it got two stars is beachside the food for breakfast and diner really was a display. Nothing major but it was plentiful and many options.
The room is very standard, it can fit three people as it has three beds. The placement of the AC in the room is not very strategic because the air directly hits one of the bed. The bathroom is also quite small and the elevator is old. The location of the hotel is not very strategic as it is far from the city and other necessities. On the bright side, the food is tasty and good.
They call it the Astoria Galilee Basic, and basic it is. Room is stark, lightly furnished, very basic. However it was clean and good service. I stayed for the marathon and it was just a 10 minute jog downhill to the start. They let me check out after the run. They said there would be breakfast for the runners but not until way after the end of the race and way after I needed to leave. Still, they found me something to eat. The food did not look appetizing but they had some good granola and the lemonade was good. Probably has none of the extra services mentioned in the tripadvisor review, like dry cleaning, in-room meals, meeting rooms. Not that kinds of place. Just a basic place to sleep. The sheets seemed a little short but I took another from the second bed. There was a problem with the shower but they fixed it immediately. The staff was friendly and helpful.
We checked in to the Astoria Hotel , in Tiberias and were quite surprise by the modern finishes in the room. Be sure to ask for an upgraded room as not all the rooms in the hotel have been upgraded. It is set back from the road which made it difficult to find at night, but the night manager Mickey was very friendly as were the hotel staff.
This is a modern hotel very far from the center. The outside is dirty and sad. Inside is also sad. No hot water in the morning. Rooms are pretty dirty. And it's outrageously expensive. Not recommended at all.
The room was large, the was a lot of light and lots of electrical outlets. Tea kettle, daily housekeeping, very comfortable bed, free WiFi. The breakfast was plentiful and fresh, the dinner delicious. Convenient for walking down to the shopping mall. The desk staff were very polite and helpful.
Visiting during off season has its advantages. We booked online for the lowest prices but upon arrival we were instantly upgraded to the new rooms. The rooms themselves are beautifully finished and clean. As are the lobby and public areas. The location is fine though not down by the lake. Our only view is at night looking uphill at the lights of the city. Breakfast was adequate. Service is professional. Definitely worth returning.
I got the prmium room. It was big enough but old furniture, not perfect cleaning. It was tea /coffee maker but without tea bags. I asked tea bags from bar and i got the kind of tea bags which i though don't exist anymore - the cheapest one you can find in stores. The most important disadvantage is the aqustic - i though that i got the same room with other family and with the people in corridor. The breakfast was terrible - small choice, not tasty and all the cups were with spots of coffee or tea.
