Old fashioned hotel, on a very good location. Breakfest is not included, and quite expensive. However there were some minor issues. One of the lamps in the room had no socket, just a hole in thren wall. Shower drainage did not work poperly, and bathroom looked like a swimming pool. Mentioned it the staff, nothing happened. The door of the bathroom is made of glass, this is awful.
Stayed at GT for 2 days while visiting an conference at the Hotel Oranje. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel and rooms look a little outdated. Nearest parking is at a local supermarket at a 5 min walk. Breakfast was disappointing, simple and little choices especially for 15 euro's. The hotel is located straight at the boulevard and beach which is very nice.
Lovely location and Staff! Restaurant and Relaxroom were nice. Will book here again in the future! Our room was clean and tidy, yet a bit dated, but still very nice. The offsite parking was a huge plus for us! Book with confidence.
Recently spent a night here. The rooms are outdated, cramped and not cleaned very well. The service at the reception was OK, however at breakfast things were dreadful, staff was slow to replace empty trays/baskets, the food was of poor quality. All in all it did not live up to the name and reputation of Golden Tulip
No frills stay. Spacious, clean room (103). Excellent breakfast and large restaurant/breakfast area. Complimentary drink on arrival which was a generous touch. Bar area, although not used, did look inviting. Extremely convenient for the sandy beach and beach restaurants. Really helpful front desk staff.
There is a certain stuffyness to the hotel's interior decoration, and my room (220) was of shoe box size with no view to speak off. However, breakfast and lunch were ok, and the fourth floor meeting room gives a great few over beach and sea. For holidays I would prefer a place slightly more upto date, less Dutch rustic. However, for a work retreat it is ideal.
This hotel is fantastic for a weekend getaway. The location across the road from the beach can't be beat. We had a special package that included a dinner and both breakfasts. Great food and definitely recommend this hotel.
The hotel is in a good position but requires significant modernisation. Room 125 had inadequate furniture, no suitcase stand and the curtains were hanging off their hooks and one radiator was not working. The room suffers from footfall and plumbing noises from above. The bathroom bin had not been emptied from the previous occupants and the towels were wafer thin. The corridors and stairways are shabby. There are inadequate staff for the bar and reception. The breakfast had few choices and was soon depleted. The restaurant is the only part of the hotel that meets the hotels star rating, the food was good and staff were good.
we booked a couple of nights here - Saturday night when we arrived and then left for a night and back again on the Monday night. The location of this hotel for the beach is excellent, the staff were lovely, the breakfast was ok and the bar area warm and cosy. The first night we were given a room on the first floor above the bar, room 112 I think, the bed was comfy and clean and the shower room the same. Unfortunately we could hear everyone thumping up and down the stairs and talking in the bar beneath us. There was barely room to move about, we had to dance around our cases and sit on the bed to get dressed and the view!! a wall, very disappointing when you book a beach hotel. When we returned on the Monday we were given a room on the second floor with a view of the sea :-) it was a family room with two double beds. The toilet was separate from the bathroom. My only gripe is the shower curtain that hangs into the bath and was a bit grubby around the bottom which I suppose couldn't be helped but it just felt unhygienic for me. We had ordered breakfast for 3 but our son only had a glass of milk and some yoghurt so when I mentioned this to the receptionist on check-out she removed this charge. All that said, the location for the beach and surrounding restaurants etc and with a no. 20 bus that takes you into Leiden in 25 minutes, it has a lot going for it and if we could ensure a sea view and maybe get rid of that shower curtain we would definitely stay again. Noordwijk is a really lovely beach break with some excellent beach bars.
the hotel is on the beach and it is very close to many restaurants. The rooms are very comfortable and large, in the room cost is included the access to the fitness center, with sauna and swimming pool. The breakfast is good, maybe there are very few sweet or cakes.
