It was our first time to Tenerife and the Sheraton hotel and it did not disappoint. We had Deluxe Rooms and they were very spacious, with a large bathroom with separate toilet and bidet, large bath, shower cubicle and double sink. Plenty of toiletries which were replenished daily and bath robes. The room had a fridge, coffee machine and small bottles of water were provided free of charge. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and you were spoilt for choice. Eggs and omelettes were cooked on demand and plenty of fizz to go with it if it took your fancy. We spent a good hour plus over a leisurely breakfast and there was no rush to move you on. 2 swimming pools and whilst the large saltwater pool at the bottom was colder we still swam in it. Never a problem to get a sun bed around the pool as they were plentiful. Pool towels are also provided, using a towel card. Spa was good too and we all had lovely massages. We also used the gym in the mornings and this was well-equipped and not overly busy. Plenty of bars around the pool and reception to have a drink. Drinks are relatively expensive, but this is usual for this grade of hotel. I must mention the staff though as this is what made the hotel special. Nothing was too much problem for any of the staff whether it was in the restaurant, one of the bars or on the reception. All were extremely friendly and helpful. It was a lovely break, the weather was unbelievable for early December, and we will definitely return again.
Two years since we last came. Same highest standards as before. Staff are excellent . Breakfast very good. Nice pool areas. Salt water pools, kept very clean if a little cold. Can’t fault the place. Recommended.
The Sheraton hotel is very easy and comfortable this is our 4th visit and already booked for next year. Super staff always welcoming. The hotel is starting to get tired but to us that is part of its charm. Very comfortable rooms. Perfect location. One of the downsides is the price of drinks not cheap especially when there are local bars serving drinks at a third of the price. But for some winter sunshine it’s perfect
Well finally made it here. Absolutely wonderful. all staff, and I mean all staff very very pleasant and so courteous. Everyone appears genuinely happy. Food exceptionally fresh and a very large choice. Very clean hotel. Rooms spotless and very spacious. We are on the 4th floor (447), great balcony and great sea view.we will certainly book again in the coming year. Plenty of sunbeds and towels. I would certainly recommend the Sheraton.
I booked this for the week of my wife’s birthday and we were both impressed by the service and our room. The facilities are second to none. They laid on a richly decorated table at poolside and a lovely gateau for her special day. The overall stay was brilliant.
Many many thanks to Spa champs they are excellent in their work. We enjoyed a lot spa services .Best spa services I ever had. Thumbs up to you guys . Everything was grt.Clean and good property.Staff were courteous. Thanks a lot again
We stayed at this hotel in 2008 and were so delighted with the experience that I signed up to write my first review on Tripadvisor. The return was a very sad disappointment. One of the reasons we had enjoyed it so much was the access to the Club lounge and intimate breakfast area which on our last visit had been complementary if staying in a Club room. I understood that the room classifications had been revised and we would now have to pay extra to have access to the Club lounge. I booked a Club room (directly with the hotel's reservations department), with a request for a 5th floor room as on our last visit, and asked if I could sign up for the Club lounge on arrival. The reservations agent told me that there would 'no problem' in doing this. On arrival at the hotel we were told that the Club lounge was 'completely full'. We were told on our penultimate night that there was now availability but this was too late to make a difference and in view of what we felt about the room (discussed below) we were not inclined to make any further payments. The website states that the Club rooms 'are located on the hotel's higher floors, offering privileged sea views from ... [their] large terraces and more hours of sunlight on their private terraces'. This is simply not the case. Our fourth floor room had a smaller terrace than some on lower floors and the covering over it meant that we had very little sun in which we could comfortably sit. We asked for a room change and were offered a 'club terrace' room of the kind which we had been expecting all along but it was not available until the 7th night of our 9 night stay and in the event it did not seem worth the disruption involved. There was a considerable premium for staying in a Club room and we felt that we got nothing for it. The design of the hotel means that balconies vary considerably in their size, shape and exposure to the sun - there were a number of balconies visible on lower floors where we would have done much better (as well as on the 5th floor which we had requested when booking). I felt strongly that there should have been a financial adjustment and wanted to discuss this with the Director of Rooms but he/she refused to see me. I have never known a hotel where a responsible manager refuses to see a guest and this spoke volumes about the corporate culture. It would not encourage me to stay in another hotel within the group in a hurry. Tenerife is a very popular destination and the hotel had a very high occupancy rate while we were there. This no doubt enables it to treat guests with this kind of attitude. There are some good aspects of the hotel - the large pool was generally empty in the early mornings and some of the staff were charming. However unfortunately for us these were far outweighed by the failure in any way to concede that we might have had a bad deal. Usually when things go wrong hotels offer at least a gesture, even if only a bottle of fizz. This is a hotel where senior management clearly take the view that they can afford to do nothing.
Visited again as a couple. Had a nice room on the second floor which caught the sun in the mornings. Room was what we needed as we tend not to spend too long in them but a well appointed room and bathroom. Used the coffee machine but did also ask for a kettle which was quickly delivered to the room. Did have an issue with dirty bedding the first night but again resolved very quickly only issue was no form of amends made by anyone. Can not fault any of the pleasant staff on all the the bars they were a pleasure especially at the pool bar where I spent most of my days very friendly and would always ask how you were. Girlfriend do had a full body massage in the spa which she said was relaxing. didn’t eat other than breakfast in the hotel but was plenty of fresh choice each morning. I do feel the coffee could be better as it’s out of the machines. The coffee is better in the room. The whole breakfast area could do with modernising as starting to feel a little dated but again the service from all encountered was very good. Evening entertainment usually consisted of a couple of cocktails and then out of the hotel for food but it seems quite quiet at night which is a bad thing in my eyes. To summarise a nice relaxing week in a clean and well serviced hotel with great bar staff.
we stayed at Sheraton many times ten years ago and this November we visited it once again and found out that it is still in good shape and provides excellent service! so nice to feel that all goes well with Sheraton la Caleta. the area around the hotel has more parking space now and you do not have to worry about your car now animore. Best wishe to you. Sheraton! we will be back no with our kids!
All rooms festure an "inspiring terrace". Ours had a view of the neighbouring hotel wall and a couple of tired plants. We asked politely to be moved, after 2 abortive attempts when the staff members promised but simply never replied when they said they would. On third attempt a really helpful guy Paulo got us a change of room which was satisfactory but after 2 days. Be very aware the hotel is setup to cater for senior citizens and not families or couples. Lots of petty rules, queuing system for meals, specified selfie points, no drinks or food by pools, limited predictable menus, tired winelists, no shorts in dining room, that sort of thing. Staff not allowed to charge customers phones (as oaps steal them?). People sat silently around the pools and glowered if you talked or heaven forbid took a discrete phone call. We tried to book an island tour but the concierge could only do a coach excursion, no links to individual guides - trip advisor saved us, It could all do with a real management shakeup to 21st century and to chill out. Put guests first not corporate rules and empower staff. Its a shame as could be a fun place. Go right from the hotel along the beach path and you'll find a chilled beach bar where the parasailing guys land on the beach, does better food than the hotel lunch and go a bay further and find several really nice local fish restaurants.
