A very nice Hotel, area, staff and food, although yet again not enough entertainment nor clubs for the kids. A holiday rep would have been useful for booking trips as it would have saved us a lot of money.Thompson needs to get this right with their advertised family holiday packages. I would recommend this hotel if you were looking for a very laid back hotel with kids and didn't mind not having any entertainment/clubs provided to keep the kids occupied during your stay. Considering this hotel is a sister company to an adults only hotel already.
I spent one week in this hotel recently and found that we liked the hotel as a whole with it being in a good location and central to everything. However, we did not enjoy our half board experience due to the very bland food which was mostly sea food orientated. Often we went out for dinner instead. Pool was nice but not very big. Good cleaning service and staff were lovely and very helpful!
Their kitchen served everyday local food (though I missed a bit more fish, for an island...). Great pure food, not messed up with tons of ketchup or mayonaise. Though I'm sure a lot more local products should end up in their kitchen (wine, beer, ...). The local cheese, great. For breakfast, really try their own made ice-tea. I loved it. Really friendly staff, helped us with all they could. Wifi not for free on the rooms, sorry this is not a 4* hotel... But the kitchen makes it all good. Rent a car, go on site seeing. Tenerife has a lot more to offer than plastic hotels and beaches! But if you're not interested in their culture, or to lazy or incapable to learn a few words in another language, stay home. To bad for decades Tenerife just let tourism build what they wanted.
I stayed in this hotel for a week and didn't know what to expect. I read excellent reviews and very bad ones as well. First of all the rooms were dated, this a fact that no matter how good the service is cannot be ignored however the hotel will have fully refurbished rooms starting in November 2017. However, if you ignore the dated decor that is a little rough around the edges, you will the rooms were clean and tidy. I was also disappointed to find that the hotel did not offer room service, something that should be a given in a four-star hotel. I would have also liked to have seen tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms as this could be a major factor for some although this was not a deal breaker for me.The chambermaids were very helpful and accommodating even with an obvious language barrier I was able to communicate with them. The food in the hotel was good, for hotel buffet standards and the options were also rather limited. The staff in the restaurant were probably the worst in the hotel as they were very rude although it may be a result of them struggling with the language. The pool area was especially good, it has been modernised and is very clean. Most of the lifeguards were very helpful and observant and the same goes to the staff at the pool bar. The biggest criticism for this area was its size as I felt that it should have been a little larger as many people who came later in the day may struggle to find a sun lounger. The staff in reception were extremely helpful. One member of staff there recommended us a restaurant and as we wished to go there he even booked a table on our behalf. Overall, this hotel offers a good service with friendly staff on the whole although as of now I would say it is only a 3* hotel at best mainly due to the dated decor, however, with the upcoming refurbishments I believe that with the upcoming refurbishments that it will be a solid 4* (hence my rating) and with minor additions to the service it could maybe even scrap a 5th *
Good, clean and quite room, located at 9th floor with Ocean view ... Friendly and helpfully people. Parks and beautifully environs with palm trees, flowers and birds ... A special remark for a sort of nice hazel hens, considered part of wild fauna of the Island ! Easy access to the Ocean, famous "LoroPark" [must be visited] and other local attractions. Another special note: don't miss a trip to El Teide volcano, it is a must - very impressive one, located in the middle of the Island !
First of all the Hótel is very dated. The only modern thing I see the new pool. But this is small and not large enough for this Hótel. The chairs in reception are all dirty and don't make you want to sit in the bar area. The staff are rude and don't acknowledge you! The only friendly staff were the two men on reception who always said hello and helped us navigate around the island. The food is awful. Breakfast all the fruit is tinned apart from brown bananas. The eggs and beans are always cold. There's a pancake station but no one is ever serving there. And as for evening meal be prepared to eat Sausage not used at breakfast or pork! Oh or go out and eat which we did all week. Oh and to top it all of fun we were without warm water for two days! It is like a Spanish Fawlty Towers. Definitely not 4 star! We've spent so much time out of the hotel we've nicknamed it base camp! Choose somewhere else for your hard earned money!
Don't know how it's a 4 star! Very dated !! Food boring only eat one evening meal more like a cafeteria not a hotel ! Breakfast buffet cold eggs etc! Only nice thing & hot was toast you did yourself! Pool area small definitely won't be staying there again!! Staff miserable except on front of house!!
This hotel is not a 4* hotel. The rooms were extremely dated, bed sheets were scratchy and weren't changed once in our 10 day stay! The towels were thin and hard, the carpet was marked and had iron burns on it and had we to pay 20 euros for a very dated safe. The food was very repetitive and often not even warm, we ended up eating out most nights at some really lovely restaurants a short walk away. The location was good and the pool area was nice. Although never enough sun-beds and the food at pool bar was very poor. We would definitely return to Puerto de la Cruz as it was beautiful , with some lovely shops and places to eat, we just would not stay at this hotel.
Hotel is not new, but everything was ok. Big bathroom and room, it's enough for three pearson. Cleaning room doesn't exist, empty trashes, new towels and that's all. Small pool, to smallest for so big hotel. Really great choice of food on breakfast and dinner, but food wasn't good.
