The staff are always efficient and lovely. Unfortunately, we were not alerted to the fact that the hotel is undergoing major renovations, which includes jackhammers early in the morning until early evening, and construction workers rolling wheelbarrows full of concrete and other materials through the lobby, pool area and yard. This made it VERY uncomfortable for guests and their children. There was no discount offered or any other compensation. We spent 10 nights there and were scheduled to spend another 10 nights later this month. We are making arrangements to stay elsewhere for the remainder of our trip! I discourage anyone from staying here until the renovations are complete. The rooms and facilities are due for an upgrade as they are quite dated as well. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!

Location is perfect, right on the beach and within walking distance to restaurants and shops

Great hotel with a nice location in the middle of everything. No need to taxi anywhere you can walk to many restaurants and souvenir shops.

Oven front on the ground floor is so convenient to pool, beach and restaurant- recommend 136-140 room numbers.

This is probably the most pristine and secure property on this stretch of Tarmarindo Beach. Although not all-inclusive, the breakfast buffet was amazing. We had a beachfront room, and just being able to sit on the balcony and watch the sunset was phenomenal. Yes, there is music at night and you can hear it, but never lasted past 10 or 11 pm. Within walking distance of everything in Tamarindo downtown. We opted to take surf lessons from the surfer boys on the beach vs a more expensive company, and it was AWESOME. Ask around for Wilmar or Joshua if you want great surf lessons. Rooms weren’t especially spacious, but very clean.

This is probably the most secure resort on this stretch of Tamarindo Beach. Although not all-inclusive, the breakfast buffet provided a great spread. We had a beachfr

The staff really take good care of the hotel. This is the nicest hotel in Tamarindo from what we could see in the surrounding area. Great breakfast buffet too. The bed was a bit too firm for us. 7 days on the mattress was a bit of stretch. They could improve their beds.

Restaurant on property for night tie dinner was very bad service waited over 45 minutes to get a drink and for arrived before dinks

When you book on orbitz it seems like they put you in the bad rooms in your category. First Room 313 loud noise all night from music next door. Then moved us to 223 with very loud road and vehicle noise and next to the stairwell. But great views from your decks. Nice pools restaurants very high prices and can get great food with a short walk to other restaurants.

Huge hotel, great breakfast with eggs and pancakes made to order, lots of bars and restaurants and shopping just steps away. Direct beach access however you have to pay to sit on the beach, which is ridiculous. They also have horseback riding on the beach so you do have to look out for droppings. Room was small but sufficient. I was disappointed they don't give bottled water in the room or have coolers of water by the pools. There are security guards and all guests wear bracelets, which is nice.

This hotel stay could have been amazing: the grounds are beautiful, the pools and swim up bar are really nice and the breakfast is very good. Unfortunately, extremely loud music was playing at the restaurant downstairs on our first night. It was so loud that the beds were vibrating from the sound and we could not sleep until it stopped at 1am. Other hotel guests were shouting from their balconies towards the restaurants to stop the music. Several other guests myself included complained to the front desk to no avail. We considered leaving the hotel, but on the next morning they agreed to move us to a quieter part of the property, although to a cheaper room without an ocean view. The stay on the quieter part was much better (I'd rate that part of our stay at 4). We got resort credit for the price difference for the remainder of the vacation but disagrees to compensate us for the first night. Beware.

Check in staff is awful. Food & beverage staff is great. Beachside rooms are very dated, noisy & dirty. Stay on other side.
