The property was completely misrepresented in the listing. I arrived late with my son and the access alone was alarming. The driveway was a very long, narrow dirt road with concrete borders on both sides, barely wide enough to drive through safely. At the end of the driveway, the property turned out to be a compound of shacks, duplexes, and carports filled with junk, nothing like what was advertised.When we arrived, the owner came outside and behaved aggressively, yelling at us and frightening my son and me. The door code provided did not work, yet the owner continued to yell about it and ultimately called me crazy. I did not rent a duplex in a compound of shacks, nor did I agree to be confronted and intimidated by the owner.I felt completely unsafe due to the condition of the property and the behavior of the owner. I immediately asked for a refund. The owner kept my money and ignored all calls from VRBO. As a result, I had to leave and stay at a hotel for the week with my son. Also, there was no turnaround at the end of the driveway, which forced me to back up in the dark to exit the property.Losing 1,200 because a property was nothing like its listing and because the owner made us feel unsafe is unacceptable.
