Comfy rooms, friendly staff, just close enough to the MRT to walk. Unlike many Taiwanese hotels, the rooms are spacious and they provide hair conditioner. Nice breakfast. Cab fare to the airport is approximately 1100 TWD.
These six young and energetic Ladies in the photo attached to this review, are the "Face" of the Capital Hotel in Taipei. They made our stay enjoyable and took care of all of our many questions and needs throughout our three day stay in this marvellous, bustling city. The room was clean, well equipped and had a Jacuzzi in the bathroom too. Breakfast was a mixture of Chinese and Western dishes and adequate. Our room was very quite and we certainly could not hear any noise from neighbouring rooms as suggested in an earlier review on this hotel. The Marriott hotel is just around the corner for food and drinks served through to 2am so the hotel not offering food or drinks other than breakfast, was no hardship at all. In any case, there are a myriad of places near by to eat and drink too. The MRT is just a 10-15 minute walk away and again, no hardship at all. Taxis are available right outside the door of the hotel and they are very cheap to use in Taipei. As a seasoned traveller and frequent reviewer on Tripadvisor, I would recommend this hotel as it offers good service and value for money.
Pros: 1. Spacious room and bathroom 2. Split bathtub and shower 3. Great customer service - front desk and housekeeping 4. Efficient and personalised check in and out process Cons: 1. Dated room (the carpet in my room was slightly stained 2. Very limited equipment in the gym (noisy treadmill, seat on stationary bike needs replacing)
A value for money hotel with all basic necessities. English speaking staff, helpful concierge that got us a great discounted deal on three tours in 8 hrs with an English speaking taxi driver. Location is great with boutique cafes (Aussie style) like Fika Fika at walking distance. MRT (highly recommended) at walking distance too. Airport transfers in a Mercedes was awesome. Only recommendation would be too improve the quality of breakfast buffet.
Very good choice for a long weekend stay in Taipei. Staff is very helpful, friendly and efficient. Rooms are large with big bathroom (seperate shower and bathtub) and very clean. Though facing a street, room was reasonable quiet. Air con on the other hand was a bit noisy for my taste. Breakfast nothing special, but ok. Location is good and within walking distance of two metro stations. If you are in Taipei for a prolonged weekend this is definitely an option to consider.
If you're the type of traveller who swoons at the sight of deep soaking tub and an oversized bed, you'll be happy at Capital Hotel. Our room was clean and super comfortable (modern furnishings, nothing too fancy), but most importantly... the bath tub! For an admittedly picky Westerner, breakfast was weird, not gonna lie, but you're not going to start your day hungry. Staff is helpful and friendly. Summary: For about a hundred bucks a night, the location and accommodations can't be beat. P.S. The toilets are fun. 😉
Helpful staff, complimentary fruit and drinks on the room, extremely comfortable bed, big and roomy, big bathroom with both shower and a bathtub. I have nothing I can complain about . It was really excellent
Very nice hotel! The breakfast is amazing. The rooms are great, the beds are so comfortable. The staff is so friendly and always willing to help. Highly recommend this hotel. The fitness center is very small though.
I'm not sure if I stayed in a different type of room from the other reviewers here, but it definitely wasn't outdated. The room was very nice and modern, large bed, tub in the bathroom, high-tech Japanese toilet with the heated seat. Honestly, bathroom was my favorite part of the room :)
Stayed here for 2 nights during a recent leisure trip to Taipei. The hotel is a little dated but it's located right next to the subway station and the night market. Overall, the room is clean and comfortable. Front desk staff was okay but seems to be a bit slow and confused when we checked in.
