Check-in was scheduled for 4:00 PM, had to wait about 15 minutes for the cleaner and her son to finish.Walked in, there was a strong smell of deodorizer. I didn't think much of it, but after an hour or so it became clear it was masking the smell of pet urine. I love that the home is pet-friendly (I'm an animal lover), but the odor was noticeable enough that it should be addressed.The kitchen counters also needed attention, as there were coffee cup rings and crumbs left behind.Visit was during a hot weekend, I couldn't find an a/c. The listing photos showed one outside, so I was confused. No ceiling fans. I reached out to the host, he replied immediately by both text and phone, apologized for the cleanliness issues and the heat, and within about 30 minutes had three box fans delivered. They made a huge difference, and I really appreciated how quickly he worked to make us more comfortable.Positives—The most comfortable beds! They were excellent, I slept amazing all 3 nights! It really felt like the host invested in quality throughout the home, furnishings and overall amenities.Despite the issues we experienced, I would stay here again because the host cared about making things right. Suggestions: adding a full-length mirror and installing a motion-sensor light leading into the primary bathroom would make those middle-of-the-night trips pleasant. Overall, a comfortable home with a responsive host. A few improvements to cleanliness odor control, this could be 5-star stay.
