We loved staying at Mantra on Bond Street thus picked another Mantra hotel. This hotel is two blocks from QVB, Myer and other shopping and one block from Darling Harbor. When we got in the lady at the reception was fantastic and checked us in quickly. We arrived around 1pm and our room was ready. However I had booked a room with a balcony but since I had not specified this in my special request I was given one with a obstructed view to Darling Harbor no balcony on the 10th floor. We then changed rooms to floor 3 facing the road. The noise of the traffic is bad so if you don’t need a balcony get a higher floor room. On our first day there one of the light bulbs in the bedroom exploded a couple of inches off my partners face. The light wasn’t on all he was doing was passing the phone to me to call reception. There were pieces of glass everywhere. I had to use my mobile to call reception as the phone wasn’t working (wasn’t fixed until 3rd of a 4 day visit). Got an apology from the person at reception and they came up cleaned the mess but there were still bits of glass in the carpet which we found only too late. No apology note or anything from management. The property is basic and the bathroom in the first room we had was run down. The restaurant is only open for brekkie and dinner.

Great spot to explore the city and close to gorgeous Darling Harbour, so excellent eateries etc. very easy to access ferries and buses. Walking distance to gorgeous Victorian buildings of the CBD. Managed easily to explore all the historic spots and beautiful gardens.

Booked last minute so our options were limited for a great location. Very happy with the Mantra on Kent. We had a twin room, view was not great as some construction work behind but we spent were little time in the room so not an issue. The room was very clean and had everything that you could need to enjoy time there and offered the choice of self catering.

I enjoyed my stay – the hotel and the service was excellent. Very handy location to the Sydney CBD.The front office receptionist went out of her way to ensure I was able to connect my laptop to the Internet. The buffet breakfast was adequate and good value

The Mantra on Kent was extremely handy to attend a convention at the Sydney Convention Centre at Darling Harbour. the Executive Studio was a generous size for three people and the rooms was clean and comfortably appointed. Will be happy to stay there again and can recommend to other travellers.

Courteous, friendly staff, clean, neat and tidy apartments. I was on 22 floor so had a great view of Sydney Harbour. Proximity to Sydney Harbour and all the best eateries in Sydney CBD. I would recommend.

I was sharing with a colleague for a conference so the size of the suite and amenities was perfect for 6 days. The location was very good - close to Darling Harbour and about 15 minute walk to meetings. Only issue was that Sydney hotels in March are very expensive in the central area. Look for deals and ask for free wifi

Second stay here at the Mantra. I last stayed here in 2010 and the place didn't disappoint. Reception staff are super friendly. We arrived early but were able to be accomdated as the room was ready. We booked a one bedroom apartment. The bed was huge and comfortable. It was separated from the kitchen/living space by a partition. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed. Pros: Location is amazing... super close to Darling Harbour and also excellent parking next door. Cons: Bathroom was a little bit dated. We had a shower/tub combo and it just looked worn out. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed here last minute and the price did not reflect the room unfortunately. I wish I had booked another five star hotel nearby that was the same price. It was the same price as what I've paid for NYE in Sydney in two four star hotels in the past. Location is the big plus for this hotel. Right in the middle of everything, close to the harbour, shops and everything else. Its quite old and worn in some areas (mainly the bathroom). I booked it because I thought it had refurbishment done since my last stay many years ago. Checking in and out was fast and friendly. The shower is not good for anyone taller than a child, you have to crouch/lean over to wash your hair or face. I am not a tall person and it still hit my chest. My 6ft partner had to sit down to shower. The shower curtain touches your legs as you move and its very cramped due to being in/over a bathtub. The rooms are showing their age with some of the finishings (the old yellow phones), paintwork (cracking and some mould in the cupboards) and bathroom (mould smell in cupboard and cracks and chips in tiles). Relatives have the same laundry sink in their home from the 80's! The bed was very comfortable and allowed a great nights sleep apart from hearing the people at the end of the hall come in 1am & 2am slamming the door and stomping down the hallway. Breakfast was nice, the staff attending were really nice and friendly. The selection was good and plenty of space to sit. Would stay again if it was half the price and the shower was renovated.

You can’t go past the location of this hotel. Set within walking distance to everything you’d want. The staff were very friendly & more than helpful when any questions presented themselves. Thanks again!
