The Mantra at Chatswood is in a fantastic location. The staff are fantastic, very customer oriented and friendly. Cleanliness is very good. Beds and bedding are very comfortable. Some issues were very slow internet speed - unusable at certain times in the evening, and that the kitchens and bathrooms need a makeover (still very serviceable, just look 20 years old). There was too much noise from the street below with garbage trucks most nights, and on the weekend the bar across the road attracted rowdy people - not great if you're a light sleeper.
The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. Despite the fact that there was no linen for a bed or a towel for our daughter to use, the reception staff were more than happy to provde us with the items required
Great location near train station and cafes, restaurants and two big malls with everything you need. Get a coffee from the local bakery where the buses are (NOT the hotel restaurant) with an almond custard croissant they were delicious and we got so addicted to them we had one everyday! More great coffee at the bottom of the stairs by the train station and a great breakfast bowl place called Stone & Peel in the station area. Hotel was ok and suited our needs, try get higher up for a better view and less noise but the trains are pretty quiet it is the busses that are noisy.
I have never had a worse experience checking in in my life. Sava the night "manager" was horrible and rude. He gave us no information about the $100 bond he was charging, simply just asked for a PIN number. When questioned he became defensive and aggressive. I had spoken with a man named Gabriel earlier that day who had confirmed as we were RETURN corporate guests the bond was $50. Sava's alternative was to make us wait at 11.30pm to check in after a long day at work for someone to remove the mini bar. Not only this but he slapped the counter and became very aggressive. Upon entering reception he did not say hello or greet us, simply said "licence and credit card". He told us that he worked in the business for 20 years and he certainly doesn't show it. The lifts are slow with keys not working in them most of the time and the walls are paper thin and all we could hear was people talking in the neighbouring rooms around ours. The walls have filthy marks all over them and the place is in poor condition. With other accommodation choices like the Meriton or Quest in Chatswood, only a fool would stay at the Mantra. Poor management and awful customer service leaves a bad taste and VERY unhappy guests who will advise their company to no longer book at Mantra Chatswood.
The hotel was clean and comfortable with a very suitable restaurant for breakfast and dinner. The meals were excellent and the hotel conveniently placed near the train line as I was attending a conference at North Shore. My stay was very pleasant and I enjoyed using the gym as I needed to cycle each day as part of a mini Tour de France competition. One suggestion is to have a water fountain in the gym as well as equipment after use cleaning agents. There is plenty to do at Chatswood in the surrounding area of the hotel; shopping, walks around the lovely streets and parks and plenty of coffee shops. The hotel was well positioned and I enjoyed my comfortable stay.
Location is ideal to access the city. Room are complete and sizeable with all the facilities. Clean and tidy and very helpful reception. Good parking and easy to find off the M2. Room was ready for us as we arrived. There was 5 adults so we didn't have to do anything to accommodate the additional adult. The Mantra Team had it all done for us.
The facilities, staff and location were all excellent. We booked online, had one free car space, late checkout and spacious rooms. We were in a 2 bedroom apartment on the ninth floor and it was great for our family get together.
Very clean, friendly service. Good sized room with all the amenities. Street noise was a bit of an issue late at night. Usually have an issue with the electronic card for the room and lift - one of them didn't work. No problem staying again. Recommended.
The facilities are clean and tidy. Great location just frustrated that in 2017 travelers are charged for wifi?! They have free wifi in the lobby only - not even available in the restaurant. Even Mcdonalds have free wifi!
Although slightly dated the Mantra Chatswood provides apartments with plenty of space and comfort. In room 807 the view is mainly over the station but the noise level from there is pretty low. The plumbing is in need of an upgrade so handle the hot water taps with care. The TV offers a pretty basic range of programs. The adjoining café has reasonable breakfasts but some of the staff are pretty inexperienced. The front office staff are obliging and helpful.
