Stayed on 11th floor, quiet, with firm bed. Pros: Convenient if you have business in area, English speaking staff, dining options Cons: Carpets covered in stains throughout hotel, nothing else nearby, unreasonably loud "entertainment" in lobby/bar in evening
All staff are good english speakers (including the cooks, it was amazing), and extremely friendly and helpfull. The 2 Dutch interns were very nice and professional, wishing them the best in their future career. Room was spotless, spacious and well appointed. Dinner buffet was actually offering decent choices and the breakfast buffet was efficient and well catered. Noiseless and dark rooms, all a good start for a restful sleep. Check in and check out were swift and staff was friendly. I would highly recommand any person planning to do business there to avoid Zhangjiagang hotels and instead do the 45 minutes drives to Changshu.
Nice place would probably give it 3.5 stars if I could. Food was very good. Room was worn and showing a lot of wear. Bed is very firm for a US chain hotel but typical for China. Stayed on the executive level. No longer serve breakfast and not even open until the evening for a couple short hours for hors d'oeuvres. Pool was closed for repairs. Unfortunately the only option in Changshu as far as I know for an upper scale US brand.
I stayed here for 3 nights to attend one seminar of industrail function. Nice hotel for such events. Rooms, food and staff are good. Could be better if there is Indian some Thai and Indian dishes Little away from city centre
The hotel is getting old and a bit outdated. There was mold on the walls some places and the wallpaper was coming off both in the room and in common areas. In addition it was freezing and all the employees was wearing their coats inside. The room however was nice and warm. My colleague and I went to the spa and were asked if we wanted to take the massage together in the same room, which we agreed on. The atmosphere was nice, but the two girls giving the massage did not stop talking to each other, making it a bit difficult to relax. There was live music in the lobby right next to the restaurant. The music was so loud that it was impossible to talk and we ended up taking the dinner in the ballroom instead which was freezing, not very cosy and with TV's on in the background. The food was good, we had a selection of Chinese dishes. All in all the hotel is not the best, but still the selection is not great in Changshu and it will cover most of your needs.
I was in Changshu just for one night. A reservation was supposed to have been made for me by the company I was there to visit. They couldn't find the reservation, but they seemed to give me the rate that I was supposed to have and this was done fairly easily. This struck me as better than typical service in China that they dealt with it quickly. The room was very comfortable and clean. It was very quiet in the room with no noise coming from outside and I didn't hear loud noise from the hall or other rooms. The wifi connection was strong in my room. There were some stains on the carpet, which at this type of hotel you don't expect. The overhead shower head wasn't working, so the hand-held one which was a minor inconvenience. I ate in the restaurant and the food options were good with Asian and Western items. Service was prompt and they managed our orders in English well. Finally, I was trying to get two taxis, one for myself and one for a colleague. It took over 15 minutes for the concierge to manage this even while we saw some out on the road in front of the hotel. They could have come up with a better system. So, not a bad stay and it wouldn't surprise me that this was the best of the foreign quality hotels. However, it's not great when you consider what this chain of hotels usually offers. The quality for cost was decent and I'd definitely be willing to stay here again. And it was above average service for a Chinese hotel.
It's my second time to stayed in this hotel. This hotel is value for the money. Offers free welcome drinks and they have very reasonable 122 CNY buffet dinner. I enjoyed the lamb and mini lobster. The hotel also offers membership that could earn points during stays.
Great place to stay in Changshu. Although it is away from the commercial center but Hotel is equipped enough to take care of your food and leisure needs. Rooms are spacious and sleep quality is very good. Staff is helpful and knows a bit of English as well.
while the staff and the rooms are very good i find this hotel very worn . I have stayed in this hotel now 12 times and nothing has changed the pool is dirty the gym is out of date. And as for the food in the club lounge if that's what you can call it is not edible in any way . they do not cater for the western taste in respect to cooked food with no blood . I feel this hotel needs to more versatile in the food it serves as this is a base for a lot of western people working in Changchun for very long stays . i will be moving hotels to the Pullman on my next visit as i have complained many times and nothing has been done to improve the standard of this hotel in 2 years very disappointing as the staff are amazing and will do anything to make your stay the best it can be. COME ON CROWN PLAZA SORT THIS
I stayed here whilst visiting my fiancé who is currently working in China and resides at this hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful and room size is very good. We only ate breakfast while staying here which consists of both hot food, cereal and continental so a good variety of choice. The bar service was fabulous and the staff there are so friendly and accommodating. There is wifi available which is easy to connect to. I would recommend this hotel to others as I had a fabulous stay here.
