Enjoyed my stay recently! The room has been refurbished n it was very clean. The staffs were friendly especially the restaurants employees! I've tried the Spa too. The service was great! I'll definitely come back for my next trip!
Stayed here this past weekend with my wife for our first wedding anniversary. I contacted the hotel ahead of time to mention that we were coming for this special occasion and after that they took care of everything. When we arrived in our room they had set it up with flowers everywhere and a towel shaped as swans and a nice note congratulating us on our anniversary. About five minutes after going in the room someone knocked on the door bringing a free cake and also congratulating us. We went to the french restaurant Vis-a-Vis (where we had already made reservations) and we were greeted by name and put at a table decorated specially for us with flowers and candles. Superb food there by the way. They even gave us a free dessert at the end. The service in Vis-a-Vis is perfect. They are attentive without being annoying. I also liked how you could hear the live music playing from the first floor below through the windows. The next morning when we went to breakfast somebody came up to us at one point greeting us by name and congratulating us again on our wedding anniversary. My wife said "wow, it feels like we're famous here". It didn't matter where we went in the hotel, the staff were always so friendly and happy to help. It was both of our first time staying at a Marriott but we'll be back again.
I stayed here with a friend for a weekend to attend another friend's wedding that took place at the hotel. I had no complaints. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere. Our room, 15th floor, was clean with a nice view of Surabaya and included all the typical amenities. All my requests were met with no difficulty (two beds, non-smoking, high floor, late check-out). The shower was excellent- great water pressure. All the staff we interacted with were friendly, professional, and helpful. A special acknowledgement to Antoni at the concierge desk for helping to arrange a last minute trip to Truwolen for me. He was prompt and responsive in all the arrangements. My friend also arranged a trip to Mt. Bromo through the concierge services, and was very pleased with the planning. The pool was also refreshing (even with the construction being done). We ate breakfast at the hotel both mornings which offered plenty of diverse options, and we tried the French restaurant too, which was satisfactory. The wedding in the Royal Ballroom was breathtaking and an absolutely memorable evening. I would definitely stay here again if the opportunity arose.
hv stayed in many hotels in my travels. From the big leagues to the unimaginable. The JW Marriott brand is renowed and considered to be amongst the big leagues setting standards for others to follow. The attention to details and guest comfort, the immaculate levels of the environment and room must be top notch. JW commands a certain standard and guest expects those standards. However, there are vast voids for improvement. Connectivity The connectivity in this hotel is horrendous, wifi connection is intermittent and if you do get a connection, the gods must be smiling on you. Accommodation The pillows in my room had a smell. The sort of smell that one hasn't wash in weeks. The spring bed is uneven, makes sleeping uncomfortable. The towels, bed linen and the room reeks of old tobacco smell. Environment Torn leather hand rail in the lift, poorly and haphazardly mended and displayed poor maintenance. The hotel could have removed the hand rail and mend the leather properly instead. Breakfast Tea section, you've got all that there is, but lacking in crucial teaspoon. Laksa, you put 2 types of veg that shouldn't be found in laksa and it doesn't go well at all. Where is the laksa leaves? Coffee, it's sour. What happen to good old Indonesian coffee? I stayed only a night and I noticed all these.
It's only one night business trip but it has a special room in my heart. Why? Because even this quite not a new hotel but the luxury, clean, comfy and spacious were felt in the room. Not to mention the Elephant doll made by towel welcome you warmly on the bed. It is a nice touch indeed. At breakfast you will find varieties of food that make your belly wants more to eat. All delicious. The swimming pool is very nice with city view to look at. And we just walk across the street to have the legend Rawon Setan restaurant. Overall, this is a complete service hotel to mix your business with pleasure with. I will come to visit again, definitely 😉👌🏼
Excellent value for money, very nice rooms (our room had an angle view on the city, which was great). Well designed. Good breakfast. Good gym. Efficient staff at check-in/out and for breakfast. Well located - we walked to the nearby mall.
I love this hotel. This was my second trip to Surabaya and I enjoyed it as much as the first. The staff here is wonderful, friendly and helpful. I loved my room, I was updated to a suite that was unbelievable. The executive lounge was very nice, the beverage selection was top notch, although the food selections could be improved a little. I really like the pool area at this property, it was a nice place to relax. The gym was adequately stocked with equipment, although some of it is aging. I will stay here again when I return to Surabaya.
I've stayed in Marriot Surabaya in my last business trip. It was superb. I'm a breastfeeding mother. I was a little bit worried because I need to store my breast milk in hotel freezer because they only have a minibar in the room. But there is no problem, the staff is very friendly and really helpful. And the milk is safe. Breakfast was delightful. My favorite was traditional jamu, because it taste really good. Better than majority. It's pity they didn't have more choice of the sushi. But overall, really enjoyed my stay here.
D building architecture is actually old, n d lobby is quite small 4 me, but they keep it clean, nice n warm... Room is a lit noisy 4 me, but maybe causing by there a lot of group fully all d floors. Breakfast good, but d choice of food still need 2 be upgrade n d dinning room is 2 small... But d small shortcomings I mentioned above will be immediately forgotten as all the staff are very friendly and helpful even 4 d smallest thing that is not 2 important they will immediately giving u d feedback of all things... It directly makes even the best 5 stars hotel in jakarta was decreased in their services (staff services) So if u or ur family n colleague looking 4 a warmth n best services hotels in Surabaya....i recommend JW Marriot as ur 1st choice...😘😘
I'm a Marriott Platinum member. I've stayed in Marriott hotels in many cities around the world. I have to say JW Marriott Surabaya is one of my favorite. I love their updated Executive Lounge that oversee the city of Surabaya, I can just relax there all day. The foods at the executive lounge is excellent. They have asian cuisines, Indonesian and western. The staffs are very friendly and professional. They always take care of me and my family well during my stay. There's live music at night at the lobby lounge, don't miss it. They always have very talented band playing both Indonesian and English songs. Don't be shy to walk up to the band and request to play a song for you. They are very good. All in all JW Marriott hotel Surabaya is always in the top list of my favorite hotels.
