The log cabin was very clean, and exquisitely decorated, with a mix of modern amenities and hand-tooled woodworking. The area was off the main highway and had a great view of the mountains. During our stay the weather wasn’t the best so unfortunately we didn’t get to make use of the deck but during the summer months I imagine it would be phenomenal for bbqing and grilling. There were a few cabins being built in the area across the road and next door but thankfully no loud working or construction this time, so the area was very quiet and peaceful for our digital detox trip. The cabin has a modern smart TV but we didn’t use it and opted for relaxation and a short hop over to Hope for some supplies and a walk when the sun came out a little.We didn’t see any bears though we wished we had, while in the area, giving us an excuse to come back! Fantastic space, location, and retreat that we’d be honoured to rent again in the future. Amazing stay, very pleased, and highly recommended for a couples getaway or a family trip. The hosts provide all information required with friendly reminders to help out, and are quick responses should you have any questions or concerns. Or first time using Vrbo to rent but will be sure to do so again. A! 3

The place was great. Only had one bad experience when I stubbed my toe on the riser before the stairs to go upstairs. In the dark it was hard to see it and I had forgotten there was a riser before the stairway. My big toe is purple right now. Other than that, the place is fantastic. We were lucky it didn't rain on the first night and got to enjoy the patio. The second night the fireplace and couch were cozy. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a very relaxing time at this beautiful cabin. The property is beautiful, overlooking a forested area with no neighbours on any side. A very private and peaceful spot. The cabin is very spacious with a very large deck. The propane fire is easy to operate and was greatnfor roasting marshmellows. The deck was a comfortable place to stargaze with ample seating for our family.Sunsh

What an amazing experience. We had an unbelivable time and it was perfectly located. Far enough that it felt rural but close enough that we could drive out to Mountainview Brewing Co. The views are unmatched and the place was cozy and perfect. Everything was available to us and the hosts were impeccable. Every response was prompt and they answered every question we had. Will 110% stay here again and even check out other properties they may manage. Unreal wish I could give over 5 stars.

Great house to stay!

This house is a great house to stay! It is well thought out and decorated. It’s a quick drive into Hope but also lots of hiking trails and other amazing things to see and do that are close by (e.g, Othello Tunnels). The owner was very responsive. I would highly recommend this place. The back deck has amazing views. Sadly it was too hot to use the gas logs (inside and outside) but would be cozy and fun in colder weather.

Authentic Modern Cottage Home

Our stay at the Douglas Fir Retreat was such a special experience for me and my family. The cottage was in prestine condition, with modern touches to give our stay an overall luxurious yet very comfy and cozy feel. Expansive windows allowed so much natural light into the house and absolutely amazing views of the mountains surrounding us. It was the perfect space for me, my partner and our two teen boys (12 years and 14 years old). Communication with the host was friendly and responsive, which made our stay really easy. The house was equipped with all the essentials including extras like fuzzy slippers, extra blankets, pillows and many family friendly board games that kept us entertained during out stay.Wonderful place to stay and would highly recommend to anyone else!

The property looks good, clean, and well-maintained.Good mattresses and pillows, good showers, and a well-equipped kitchen.I recommend replacing the living room sofa (not comfortable at all) and adding another one, as one is not enough for a family.

What an amazing time we had staying at the beautiful and scenic Douglas Fir Resort cabin house! We enjoyed our stay at this lovely peaceful home away from home nestled overlooking the breathtaking mountains! We can’t thank our hosts enough for making our trip so memorable and relaxing! Weekend getaway

Beautiful log cabin, very quiet, secluded area, beautiful view of the mountains, nice walking trails. Host’s were amazing and great to communicate with. Highly recommend if you are looking for a nice relaxing get away.
