This hotel was nasty! There was mold (not a small amount) on the wall and shower curtain in the bathroom. A roach crawled on my husbands arm while we were sleeping. There was a roach beside our bed on the floor. When we turned on the AC it had a very bad odor. Breakfast has less options than normal and the waffle maker was peeling off the non-stick coating very badly. It looked like someone with a bad sunburn that was peeling. Do not stay here.
Our stay in May ,2017 was very good, We were to late to eat the breakfast but it smelled great and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable giving directions on the phone. They were quick to correct an error made by house keeping one of the days. This is on a service road and near eateries. we were there 5 days and would return again if needed.
Accomidations were fair. Cost was higher than advertised. Breakfast left a lot to be desired. Maybe a little more effort and choice would help change what will be a lasting impression. Not happy at all.
If you are seeking a short drive to Texas A&M Commerce, TX this is the ideal place to stay overnight. Within that short drive from Kilgore, TX., to Commerce, to attend a Area Regional Track meet to see my granddaughter, a Sophomore to perform, I was well pleased. The Hospitality Clerk, (Omett), was very Professional. We unpacked our belonging and drove to Commerce twice on Friday and Saturday. The breakfast was delicious. Also, the Days Inn was undergoing remodeling. I love the zebra type carpet and texture. Just loved it! I also, informed another person (another grandmother) where I was staying for the track meet and she booked her a room.
Found this Days Inn to be excellent in every respect for tired travelers. The appearance of the Motel was very good. There was extra parking for those towing a trailer. The only downside of the front main parking was allowing parallel parking alongside the building while also allowing head in parking along the curb. The width of the parallel parking makes backing out of the pull in very precarious.
Overall, the room was clean, the location isn't within walking distance to anything but relatively close enough to Lake Fork. The hallway smelled like Indian food and the Common area HVAC was obviously turned off but our room was nice and cool. The pool was green and uninviting. The clerk was really nice. Great value for a decent room.
Rooms were nice Front desk staff both checking in& checking were ok Disappointed in the breakfast- never replenished the eggs the time my teens were there through the time my husband and I were there (about 8:15-9:15)(I could see a large carton of eggs on the counter in the kitchen). Also they started putting the breakfast items away at 9:10- there were still people coming down for breakfast.
There was a cigarette that was put out on our alarm clock in a non smoking room. No pillow cases. When I asked for some I was told that they don't provide them. Room was disgusting and not sanitary.
We only stayed for a few hours and picked this hotel instead of the cheaper one next door because it had breakfast included but the breakfast was so bad I wish we would've just saved the money and had breakfast out. We got up early for breakfast but the cereal was stale, the oatmeal was like glue and the waffle batter was just not tasteful. Next time I know save the money and hit up a breakfast elsewhere.
When my wife and I walked into the room, I was about ready to give it the full 5 stars. The room was pretty big and divided into a front and back section. In the front there was a couch, big TV, coffee pot, microwave and refrigerator. The back had a comfortable bed and another TV on the wall. But I noticed a few problems. The electrical plug on the coffee pot didn't reach the outlet. I had to turn it sideways and scoot it to the edge of the dresser to reach the plug. I couldn't get the TV in the bedroom to work. The next morning, my wife told me that the noise from the highway in front made it hard for her to sleep. I did have a problem with the wireless internet but that might have been my computer. There is a computer in the lobby. Still, the place was nice looking, comfortable and clean. If you decide to stay, ask for a room in back.
