I've now stayed in this hotel twice, last year and this year. I chose it so I could visit with family living in the adjacent apartment complex. The experience was much better this year than last year. The room is clean, neat, and comfortable. The only drawback is the lack of spaces to put things away if staying for multiple nights. Even though the room faced the street, it remained quiet if the windows were closed. Staff service was great. Front desk clerks, breakfast hosts, server at the bar, all were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet had a good assortment of items. Location. The hotel is right above a U-Bahn station, but trying to get there is a nuisance. You have to go outside, walk along the street, and take a small, slow elevator down to get to the lower plaza with its restaurants, or to the U-Bahn. There is no staircase. Major design flaw in the entire complex, and it would be a good thing if the hotel kept sending these complaints on to the property owner so that a staircase could be added. There's room for it. There's also the problem of trying to find the hotel entrance in a row of identical glass panels, when the owners of the complex apparently won't let the hotel management hang out a sign. I learned this one the hard way last year.
I stayed at Aloft Stuttgart in August. The hotel is expensive (150€/night) and the rooms are small. The location is gut. But really bad: there is no air conditioning (only a ventilation system, but no cooling). I cannot recommending to stay there during the summer month. Aside, the hotel is mediocre but OK (if you are ready to spend > 100$ for a mediocre place.
Great expereince at the Aloft. Very friendly staff. The manager, Sebastian, could not have been nicer or more helpful. Great location right on the train line and located in a mall so there were plenty of options for food/shopping. Overall, great experience. The only negative is we got stuck in the elevator of the parking garage for almost 45 minutes late one night with my 12 year old daughter. Turns out it was the wrong elevator (we had no idea) and it eventually let us out in the Mall despite the fact the mall had been closed for hours. Then we couldn't find our way out of mall for fear of setting off alarms. It was very frustrating to see people outside but unable to get outside. Eventually a mall employee working very late saw us and let us out. We learned to NOT park a car there for fear of getting stuck.
Hotel is very clean, close to the center of city and located next to the popular shoping center Milaneo.. As a special guests, hotel gave us vouchers for free drink, rooms are clean aswell and also is public place where you have free breakfast everyday. Pizza at the lounge bar was great just like hotel workers that work there.. 5 stars*
Never again Aloft. I am a elite member with Marriott and I spend thousands of dollars with Marriott each year. Worst experience ever. 1) Location of hotel is in the city center, but is very hard to locate. There is no signage on the Main Street of the hotel. The parking garage is very confusing, and is the same one that is for the mall. If you don’t park in the correct area of the garage, you car will be towed after the mall closes. The parking area for the hotel has a very small sign, and hard to locate. We parked in the wrong area area of the garage, walked through the mall, back out to Main Street and just happen to notice in very small letters on a glass door -Aloft hotel- this is not visible from the street. The desk told us that we needed to make sure we parked correctly to avoid the tow. 2) Rooms are nice, but the air conditioners are crap. It was very hot in our room, making hard to sleep. We were told nothing could be done. Windows did open, but the noise from the street was just as bad as the room being too hot. 3) The shower in our room was clogged and almost flooded room. It took the 2 days to fix. 4) safe in the room did not work. Requested it be fixed, was told it had to be replaced. Aloft didn’t even attempt to fix it.
ALoft is very conveniently located at Milaneo Mall and the City Library Station. Walking distance from the city centre (the famous Königstrasse) and also from the Main Station (or only 1 station from Main Station with the metro or U-Bahn). The rooms have a decent size with a modern layout - ideal for couples, but small for families. The breakfast has a good variety of items and there's a snack bar 24/7 (which you won't need since there are many restaurants at the mall). Although there are frequent parties at the lobby (with DJ), you can't hear anything from the rooms. The only downside is the parking, very expensive due to the location and you have to use the mall garage (parking in the streets around is almost impossible and also paid with meter every 1 hour).
The hotel was clean and in a great location. Only one stop from the main train station and you can take an elevator right up to the hotel door. It was very convenient for getting around Stuttgart. Being attached to Milaneo is very handy if you need to pick up anything you forgot to pack. The bar area at night is nice to have for drink at the end of the day. Breakfast was not so great and even if it's included with your room, you have to pay tax on the "free" breakfast so just think twice about whether you even want to have it included in your room rate.
We stayed here for the weekend. Hotel is within an easy walking distance from the central station. The hotel is built into the Milaneo shopping centre with around 200 stores and a big choice of eating places. We had breakfast included in the rate which was of a good choice and plenty available for everyone. The breakfast ladies were always bringing out new items. The room is super modern with all conveniences you will need for a weekend break. One bottle of free water in the fridge per day, however, is a little mean I guess for 2 guests? Overall, an enjoyable stay!
We were only here for one night to visit my husband's aunt. We were surprised with the welcome letter and snacks and cocktail voucher (I was sick from stomach flu and was unable to eat/drink much so we were not able to use it). The mall is conveniently located right behind the hotel. In the middle of the night, I had severe stomach pains. My husband and I rushed to the lobby and the very nice receptionist called us a taxi. The hospital is very near. Location to the subway is very near. We only stayed for a night so we didn't get to use the facilities much. But thank you nonetheless for a lovely stay!
There was a mixup by their staff regarding my booking and the front desk did not want me to leave until I paid the bill in full even though I had a receipt showing I had paid a certain amount. I offered to pay the balance but the front staff became very rude, aggressive and racist. I complained later through Marriott but they brushed it under the carpet. Do not recommend you stay there if you are not German. It does not matter your Marriott status (I am a Marriott Platinum Elite member).
