Clean, well appointed room. Very comfy bed, large bathroom with lots of towels. The fireplace made the living room very cozy for relaxing on the couch. Breakfast was rather offbeat (chia seed pudding one day, prosciutto and cheese another day), but nice quality items and fresh croissants. Great location close to many shops and restaurants. We would definitely go back again.

The king suite is the perfect accommodations to make for a super spacious and comfortable stay. The location of The Field Guide is also hard to beat, not to mention their hospitality. We will definitely be back!

The noise from the bar was unbearable. Our room is located right over the bar very dated room when we complained about the loud music and asked for a different room. The solution was to give us earplugs. After several complaints after several complaints, they gave us a 20% discount on our room. Very poor experience.

One of the worst check-in experiences - we arrived to find the hotel closed for the night. We called the help number listed on the door, and the woman who answered (erroneously) told us to go to another building. That was also locked, so we called back and had to walk back to the original building. The bartender kindly let us in (thank goodness she was there!) where we found our key. But no map - we had NO idea where to go. We wandered around for a while and tried a door that matched our room number, but couldn't get in. We had to call a third time and found out we were in a different building. All this info was emailed to us around 9:40 (after our arrival!), then texted around 11:30pm (again, after our arrival!). We couldn't get into our actual room because the key was crooked, it took nearly 10 minutes to get in. In speaking with housekeeping the next day, we discovered "that door never works." UGH, why not fix it?! The room was fine, though my advice to the hotel is to work on the standard items (maps and info for guests, working doors, a full-length mirror in your suites, and a light in the bathroom that's bright enough to apply makeup) before focusing on the extras (welcome bag).

Our room was just okay. We were on the lower level of the Trailhouse building overlooking the pool which was half closed for the season and the grounds were very messy. Our room was nice, and the bed was comfortable, but it felt like we were staying in someone’s basement. We would also not recommend staying here midweek when the bar is closed as the property didn’t have the vibe that we expected based on other reviews. If we return to Stowe again in the Fall we will likely stay somewhere else.

Good option for the price

It was a great location, the staff were very helpful and kind. The lodge is old but had been updated with cute decor. Our room was really hot. We even turned the AC on and the sitting room and bathroom were cold but the bedroom remained hot making it hard to sleep. We had to ask that our coffee cups be replaced daily with housekeeping even though there was no dish soap to was them.

The suite was nice and spacious. We enjoyed the fireplace and how quickly the room heated up. The door to the room bumped up against the bed. It was a strange layout and TV behind the door was useless. Swap the TV and the mirror. Breakfast was healthy and pretty good. Sparsely staffed, but staff was responsive to text messages. Excellent location, walking distance to the village and convenient location. No lunch or dinner. Would stay here agai .

Cozy Corner in the Green Mountains

The lodge was very cute and fit the area well with it's decor and mountain charm. However, the rooms were a little noisy. It didn't seem to be well insulated and there was quite a large gap underneath the door to the room. Otherwise, everything else was great. There appeared to be a short staff issue as someone was never really at the front desk, but had a sign saying they were out helping other staff members. Upon ringing the bell or calling the number given on the sign, they promptly arrived to help. The lobby/lounge/bar area was super comfy and cozy with plush furniture and a nice warm fire going. We needed to extend our stay another night, and they were quick at getting us taken care of. We also appreciated the distance from stores/restaurants. We were able to walk just about anywhere. We would for sure stay here again.
