Absolutely loved this unique lodge and hope to return one day. The quality of design and decor is so stunning, clearly a lot of thought and work put into the outlay of all areas. The room we had was on the top floor overlooking the pool - so spacious and cosy with a fireplace. The breakfast was a surprise of quality baked pastries, fruit and something different each day such as overnight oats. Something for everyone. Only comment would be better cleaning of the outdoor balcony as couch was full of leaves. Otherwise amazing stay!

We had high expectations of the stay based on the reviews online but were under impressed with our stay. In terms of price - you get low value for the quality of the room (this is also considering during “low season”. We stayed in a lodge king - the room had low ceilings, was hot and musky (they had AC but it was weak no ventilation), and needed an update. The bathroom had lots of mildew in the shower, was tiny (not like pictures as advertised online) and smelled (again poor ventilation). We asked for our room to be cleaned during our stay and it was not. The highlight of the room was the bed - it was really comfortable. Staff were nice and helpful when they were around but they seemed a short staffed the whole weekend / nowhere to be found. Breakfast though was simple but good. Looking back, we probably should’ve stayed at the Fairfield Inn down the road instead of this “boutique hotel” and would have had a more comfortable stay.

Wonderful stay

We are very happy and grateful that we were able to check in much earlier than the scheduled time of 3:00pm. We also appreciated that breakfast was included in the stay. We stayed in a suite on the top floor of the Trail. Hotels.com asked us a few days before our stay if we would prefer to upgrade, and it was a good decision to do so. The Trail suite is a very private unit with two separate rooms, making it easy to use. Please note that there is no elevator and the only access is by stairs. There were two things that could be improved: there was no water supply to the bathtub, which was a wonderful addition, and one of the windows was left open when we entered the room because the handle for the rotating rod that opens the window had broken and been lost. Overall it was a great stay. The location, the cleanliness of the room, and the interior with attention to detail. We will definitely stay at the Larks Hotel again.

Rustic theme is nice, but the room was a bit dated with run down/dirty A/C, extremely small shower stall and dirty/cracked tiles and stains in the bathroom. Bed was comfortable. The room was ok size. Overall, overpriced for what you get.

Property itself is a great location and hotel is nicely updated. However the walls and ceiling are so thin you can hear everything coming from the floor above and outside the room. Made it very disruptive to sleep or relax in the room. The bed itself had a very weird slant so your head ended up being lower than your feet. Staff was pleasant and hotel itself was nicely kept just the issues with the all the noise and the bed were significant enough to lower the rating

The property location was good. Was able to walk to downtown. The property was cute but the room was small for family of 5 and outdated. Bathroom was small and the lock to yard was broken. The included breakfast was ok for adults but not for kids and also start time was too late (8am). Hot tub required reservation ahead of time so we didn’t even bother. Staff was super friendly and the common area was warm and welcoming so I gave 4 stars overall.

This lodge was just adorable! It was modern, cozy, friendly, really relaxed and simply beautifully furnished. Great style outdoors too. There was fire pit, seating, coffe,tea,apples, games area, hiking, a bar, free breakfast…There was everything you could possibly want (minus a restaurant) but there was one across the street, one next-door, there’s restaurants everywhere in Stowe. It was so convenient to town and my single, king room was just perfect for me, solo traveler looking for a nice quiet, clean, relaxing experience. It was truly stylish and unique. Lovely staff. I loved it!

Exceeded our expectations. We had the King Suite, with super cute decor and stand alone bathtub. The lodge was clean, comfy, and felt very safe. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub, and fire pit. There was also complimentary grab and go breakfast and coffee, as well as an espresso machine. The front desk staff was super friendly and accommodating.

Field Guide Lodge was amazing. Our room was generously spacious, featuring comfortable beds and a cozy sitting area. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. Breakfast was delicious!
