I have never been so disgusted with a reservation thru Orbitz. The Golden Eagle Resort is apparently past its prime and is promoting itself far beyond what you actually receive. Our unit had a derelict car sitting beside the entrance. There was itinerary on the toilet seat. The tub was clogged with hair. There was only a half roll of toilet tissue. Carpet old and dirty. Nothing has been painted in years. There was debris, sand and leaves , all over the entrance. The same with the patio. Here was no one in the lobby, our keys were in an envelope stuck to the wall. I realize Covid 19 has created special circumstances but that was rediculous. The lodge management apparently has no pride in the facility. Had it been cheap,that would be one thing. But it wasn’t. I have photos, if anyone wants evidence.

Great setting, helpful staff. Rooms are updated but facilities need tlc/repairs (carpet stains, paint repairs and rotted wood on decks).

Tub had yellow ring around inside and dirty towels weren’t replaced but merely folded and put back on rack.

Convenient, central location. Family and pet friendly. Nice wooded area behind facility for family hike.

Nice hotel, walking distance to downtown/restaurants. Only complaint was the bed was very stiff.

My first trip to Vermont I went with 3 pre teens and we all had a blast. The staff was very knowledgeable, helpful and kind. Rooms were nice and the amenities were awesome. Everything else was within walking distance or 2 mile drive. Would recommend this place to everyone.

We were pleasantly surprised with the size of the resort, and loved our room at the back of the oroperty. There were many amenities, and the cafe had a great menu. Our only concern was with the pool table in the game room which was not level.

Gravel parking lot. Had to carry suitcases could not role up steps. Patio was slick from fungus build up over a long period. Very small amount of toilet paper ran out of during stay. Only enough liquid soap for one shower Did not leave coffee the second day. Did not vacuum. Very disappointed for cost of $350.00 a night.

Exactly what we were looking for Hotel has everything in an enchanting area and answered sll our needs. We re already planning our next Stowe weekend and the Golden Eagle is where wéll stay

Very friendly staff. Nice room, quiet and good view on a small lake. The pool/sauna is really cool.

Excellent price for a room in downtown Stowe. The location is close to downtown, so you are right by many restaurants and about 10-15 minutes from the slopes depending on traffic. This is a compact resort with exercise & game rooms, pools, an onsite restaurant (good breakfast), etc. The property is a bit dated and rooms are unexceptional but comfortable.

Comfortable, clean, and cute! A very nice getaway!

The hotel resort was very nice it had a lot of extra thing, pool, spa ect. However, the room seem some what out dated. The carpet needs to be change, the bathroom could use an update too. The bed was extreey comfortable.

We had a great time love Stowe and the fact that the hotel was so close to down town. It was low key and worked out well!

Dear Mr. Revels, Thank you for chatting with me and sharing your thoughts this morning. I do appreciate your feedback. It is always are goal to provide clean, comfortable, and relaxing environment. I am sorry your stay did not meet your expectations. When a guests comes to us with an issue, we like to resolve it immediately. I did go and inspect your room when you checked and did find the tub did drain slower than it should and my maintenance tech resolved the issue immediately, the next guest will not have the same issue. If your were to walk though our property, you would notice that we have several interior and exterior painting projects going on, such as guestrooms, decks, exterior stairs and many more projects planned for the summer months. Our check in process is designed to be contactless, this is the prefeed method by our local health authority. We find most guests appreciate it. Although our desk does run 24 hours we available to guests 24 hours. In your welcome packet as well as the signage in the vestibule where you picked up your welcome packet is number that goes directly to a cell phone carried by a manager of the resort 24 hours a day. 2 of the 3 manager who carry that phone are staying on property during the Covid 19 pandemic and resolve any issues or requests with in minutes. It is our goal to provide great service at any time. I do invite you to come back to the Golden Eagle in the future, I am sure you will enjoy your time with us. We're glad you enjoyed your visit with us here in Stowe. Even though we are right on the Mountain Road, and just a 10 minute walk from the Stowe Village center, we are lucky to have 33 acres of Certified Wildlife Habitat on our property, with trails to explore by hiking, snowshoe, or mountain bike.
