My husband and I had just finished a 7 day Baltic cruise and had an extra day in Stockholm. We were completely exhausted after traveling for 2 weeks (a week touring the U.K. prior to the cruise) and arrived at the Mornington at 9:30 in the morning. Check-in wasn't until 3 but the lady at the front desk was absolutely amazing and let us check into our room early. She even put our name in to access the complimentary breakfast buffet so we could eat something. It was exactly what we needed after our travels and I was blown away by their outstanding customer service. The room was a decent size with a comfy bed. The location is very close to some of the high end shops in Stockholm and we were able to walk from our hotel to the train station in about 20 minutes. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel for a place to stay in Stockholm.
I stayed in this hotel for five days, vacations, traveling alone. The hotel is a nice place and I think there is a very good relation between the price you pay and what you get. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is located just a pair of blocks from Ostermalmstorg metro station, which is just one station far from T-Centralen station, where you can connect to all the metro lines in Stockholm and trains; from T-Centralen you can also take the Arlanda Express train, that connects you with that airport in just 20 minutes; and from Ostermalmstorg you can get to Gamla Stan station; so, the location of this hotel is really good because you can easily move to many places from the metro station located just two blocks apart. At the same time, the neighborhood is nice and it’s worth a walk.
Start your day right with their big breakfast buffet. Room was on the small side but served its purpose.
The hotel is situated in a fairly central place in Stockholm and is about 300 meters from a subway station. It is within walking distance from restaurants and leisure areas. Unfortunately when we checked into our room which lacked any form of closet, we were struck by an unpleasant smell from the bathroom. It turned out that the cleaning personnel had left the trash bin full from previous occupants. The reception responded immediately by moving us to another room (they called it upgrade) which was slightly larger than the previous one, had a clothes hanger and had a pleasant smell. Other than the lack of storage space, the room was good, comfortable, quiet and functional. Breakfast was rich, dining room somewhat small and crowded. Overall OK. We had a fairly good price, though for the same price we had a room twice the size and with far better amenities in the Netherlands. For visiting and touring Stockholm, since one doesn't spend much time in the room, this hotel is definitely a good choice. Stayed July 2014, traveled as a couple
Can't beat the location. Terrific breakfast buffet. BUT: room is excruciatingly tiny, and they need to put a grownup in charge of room cleaning staff. Same coffee and food stains on desk for days, until I cleaned it up, didn't replenish soap, shampoo etc for days until I called to complain. Even then, would leave all decaf one day, no sugar the next, some things we never got until we complained... Got general impression that there wasn't anyone in charge who knew what they were doing.
The Mornington has reasonably appointed rooms, responsive service from the staff, and a diverse breakfast buffet. The location was perfect, and very close to the T-bana. We got a great "executive special" that included the "dinner special" which, given the price of restaurants in Stockholm, could be very useful for the budget traveler. There is a building under construction next door, so there was some unwanted noise, but not too bad. All in all, we're glad we chose the Mornington, and the executive deal was unbeatable.
The rooms are small and clean. But the location is one of the best in Stockholm. The breakfast is amazing. And the value can not be beat!!!
The Mornington was well appointed and smartly decorated. The hotel was very safe and in a great neighborhood in between two stops on the red tunnelbana lines (Östermalmtorg and Stadion). The standard rooms were very small, but typical of a hotel in European city centers.
Great hotel in a perfect location to see most of the sights of Stockholm. Shopping, museums, restaurants, and access to transportation. First time to use this service. I will not do that again....booked 3 nights through this service for $736. After we were there, we booked a room for our son for $150! We could have saved about $280 by booking directly with the hotel. Highly recommend hotel, don't recommend this service.
Conveniently located in Stockholm City. Clean, comfortable rooms (albeit small). On last visit, I arrived in the morning and had to wait for my room. Extra charge for the fitness center -- which is quite nice. Breakfast spread is very good. Lackluster service in hotel bar/restaurant during the evenings.
Very good experience, end-to-end. Nice, homey ambience. Proximity to business district, shopping.
I highly recommend this hotel - the staff are very competent and friendly, the location is great, the room I stayed was large and comfortable and breakfast was plentiful!!! Dinner was also very good and tasty. I went to Sweden for a wedding and my trip could have been a total disaster since the airline couldn't locate my suitcase for 3 days. On several occassions the hotel staff followed up with the airline on my behalf and they also made sure I had all the toiletries I needed. Next time I visit Stockhold, Mornington Hotel is where I will stay.
I really enjoyed my stay in Mornington. The hotel is located less than 10 mins from Stureplan, which provides access to the best shopping and dining. Also, I purchased the Executive option and the dinner provided by the hotel is five star. The dinner menu changes every day and food is absolutely delicious. Free breakfast is also very good. The rooms are a bit small comparable to US hotel standards. Our room had two beds, but each bed was a single bed and not very comfortable. The bathroom also felt a bit small and not well designed. Overall, I would stay in this hotel again.
The Mornington is just steps from the Ostermalmstorg Metro (1 stop from the Central Station), making it very convenient. Though we arrived late in the evening, we were warmly & promptly greeted and given suggestions on where to grab a bite. This hotel is walking distance to everything and surrounded by cute little shops and cafes. The room itself is delightful, very modern yet charming. Everything was polished to perfection, with extras such as toiletries, bathrobe & slippers, books, fridge, coffee, tea and chocolate. Super comfortable bed and pillows, with two twin duvets for a double room (meaning that my husband won't steal all the covers - what a novel idea)! Noise - from the outside or other rooms - was never an issue. There is also a desk, loveseat and flat screen TV. One of our favorites was the bathroom - very efficient layout, dual flush toilet, gorgeous trough sink, and towel warmer! We opted not to get our room serviced the 3 days we were there and the great housekeeping staff always left bags with fresh towels, toiletries and chocolate hanging on the doorknob for us. The extra touches really impressed us. Be sure to purchase the breakfast with your room - the variety and freshness of food is the outstanding. And we can't say enough about the service. From the front desk to the restaurant staff, everyone was friendly and helpful. There's also a computer at the front desk from which you have free internet access.
we were traveling with friends. The room is a big small, but is ok for the Europe size. the room is cozy and clean, the breakfast is great and location is good too.if your don't mind of walking, old town is also within the walking distance.
Hotel is good for the price we paid. Clean, good breakfast and staff were friedly. The only bad thing... walking to the center is abit too far. (>15min)
