All parts of this hotel looked dirty and not well maintained. Checked in but checked out shortly after when the bathroom sink and vanity were FULL of little bugs. Bathroom floor was sticky and I didn't want to set anything down in the room. Drove 30 mins away to find a new hotel.
Stayed 1 night in a room with 2 double beds that needed a good cleaning and some minor upkeep. Upon check in I see a sign that says pool closed for repairs!!! Why when making reservation at Choice Hotels.com was I not informed of this? Wouldn't have stayed!! Felt that this hotel could be nicer but seemed to be kind of dumpy!!
My grandson and I stayed here for a week while attending the Suzuki Institute at the university. We were hugely disappointed that the pool was out of service. Even though we were able to use the pool across the street at a different Hotel, it was very inconvenient very inconvenient to do so. Breakfast was so-so. One day they ran out of bread and milk, another day the cream cheese was frozen, etc. Maid service was iffy. Example - We found that if a single stuffed animal was left on the bed, they wouldn't make the bed. We chose this property because of proximity to the university, but I would not stay here again.
The room was clean and the accommodations were standard Comfort Suites. Two main issues: the AC in the room was blocked by the second bed which meant that the room took forever to cool down enough to be able to be comfortable. In addition, both back door entrances were set up as designated smoking areas which meant that you either had to only go in the front doors, or deal with the potential of walking through smoke. The breakfast was good-- they offered both plain and blueberry flavored waffles, a good assortment of yogurt, cereals, etc. I didn't see any non-dairy creamer for coffee, but the rooms have the powder in the coffee kit. The staff was nice and our experience was positive.
We just spent one night in this establishment and found the place just to be adequate. The room was clean, the staff was very very friendly and helpful and the area was quite. This facility actually needs to be updated as it does not meet the standards of the Comfort Suite standards. But all in all well with the pricing.
Nice desk clerk, easy check-in. Spacious room with two double beds and a pull out couch. Comfortable and quiet enough for a one night stay. Liked having a fridge and microwave. Disappointed that the bathroom garbage was full when we checked in, which made us wonder about overall cleanliness...
We stay here every year. We love this hotel. We were super bummed that the pool was closed. There really is not much to do in Steven's Point at night in April with three kids so a pool is a must have. The pool is great when it is opened. The outside seating area is nice too. I really like the breakfast. The waffle maker is nice. I like having fresh coffee in the morning. I love having a fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room. I'd like a bigger tv but the big bathroom and big room is so nice. The rooms are clean and the beds are so comfy.
It has an elevator. Breakfast is really good! It was packed yet it was very quite. Rooms are good sized and no problems with comfort of the room. There is plenty of parking and has handicap parking. The exercise room is a converted room but has all that you need.
If you ever need to find a hotel in central Wisconsin, you know that the options are pretty limited and that the quality level is typically on the low side. That perspective is important in reviewing this hotel. I would say it is fairly average for a comfort suites. It has been brought at least up to par with recent renovations - it is clean, it has enough outlets, etc. The rooms are on the smaller side and the breakfast was probably a little below average for the choice standard. The pool and fitness center were both closed for maintenance reasons so I can't say much about them. The internet is pretty in and out but given that it's central Wisconsin, I was happy to have internet at all. If this hotel were somewhere more populated, I would probably give it three stars as it is pretty average. But for its location, it is above average and for that, I give it a fourth star and will likely give it my business when I'm in the area.
Quite reasonably priced. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Fitness center was okay would like more work out options. The room was very quiet. Didn't use the pool or business center. The breakfast was the usual fare.
