Nice room, friendly and serviceminded staff, Coffee and snacks always available in the receiption area. Short distance to shops, bars and restaurents. Nice price for a good room during a weekend-stay. I know that some renovations of rooms at the hotel is in progress, but didn't notice.
I really enjoyed my two night stay at the Thon hotel. My room was a good size, clean, with a very comfortable bed! The selection available at breakfast both mornings was very impressive! The lounge has a nice relaxed feel about it and offers comfy seats and complimentary Nespresso coffee..the candles are a nice added touch. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and I will recommend it to others. Thank you for a lovely stay :)
I recently stayed at Thon Hotel Maritim for work purposes. Every minute spent at this hotel, I received outstanding service from the staff - who really walked the extra mile to make sure I enjoyed the stay. Everyone I met at the reception were always smiling, and did all in their power to accommodate requests. The atmosphere in the reception area is nice and cosy. The breakfast was amazing, with fresh waffles, pastry, bread, fruit, fresh smoothies and a great selection of food. I also overheard several fellow guests expressing enthusiasm for the breakfast. The hotel is centrally located, and close to the bus and train station. I warmly recommend this hotel, especially due to the highly service minded staff. I am looking forward to staying here again in the future!
The hotel is perfect situated, in the old town and near the harbour. Everything is in walking distance. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is very good. A lot of fresh fruits and Bread, salmon etc.... The hotelroom is clean and the shower and the bed are good. Also it's very quiet during the night. The only thing is that the room is not very cosy and the hallway is looking old. The building from the outside is not very beautiful. Nevertheless are the prices not high. I would recommend this hotel when you're going to Stavanger.
Great breakfast, but that was pretty much it. Got a room on the third floor, but turned out that there was a street right outside our window with both cars and drunk people singing and screaming passing by. The room was overheated, and although we told the guy in the reception nothing happened - And as an extra we did'nt get the AC to work ourself either. No need for duvet, at least;-) Not the best experience, unfortunately.
Overall experience is very good maybe except of cabinet size - it was like mail box, very small (it's dept was around 30 cm, very narrow). Breakfast and dinner - fine and tasty, service - top level. Room was cosy, internet connection - not bad, couple of English speaking channels in the TV. "Welcome wine bottle" was nice too :-)
+WiFi was average, not the fastest but definetly not the slowest.. +Breakfast was very good. I have never seen so many cereal and fish (salmon) options, very nice! +Helpful staff +Location was great, within minutes to harbour, within city center. -The room I was in was on 3rd floor, it was noisy because it was just at street level of a rock street. Lots of tire running noise.
Came from Bergen on the ferry and found this hotel just a short walk from the bus station (bus from the ferry) and another short walk from the harbor/restaurant area. The room had all of the standard amenities - decent bed, TV, shower. The breakfast had a lot of choices and the food was good. Would like to have had a bar on-site. Staff were very friendly - high marks for them! Overall - a decent place to stay in Stavanger at a good price.
We started and ended a 15 night family reunion trip here. Their breakfasts are amazing. Rooms interesting, bathrooms great, excellent location near the action. Night goes from really quiet to sporadic noisy (we had a corner room). Would be glad to stay here again. Other Thon Hotels might be more modern (we also stayed at Thon in Lillestrom, Kristiansund, and Bergen), but this one wins due to quality of breakfast and locale.
Hotel is in a good location across from the park and a short walk to the harbour. Our room was on the 5th floor and we were not told there were a number of stairs between the (very slow) lift and the rooms - despite not being allowed to check in until 4pm with excess luggage and an infant child no one offered us help to get to the rooms. The parking has to be seen to be believed, it is dug into a cave and looks like the evil lair of a James Bond villain (photos attached). We were assured our car would fit (a small SUV) and there were millimetres to spare on either side. Breakfast was nice enough but often ran out early and while some of the senior staff were helpful others were less so. Cleaning staff were very reluctant to tidy or change sheets despite obvious stains in the baby's crib.
