Staff very nice and friendly. Quick check in and out. Fantastic breakfast. From waffles and croissants to fried eggs and cheese cream potatoes. Big room with flat screen TV and shower with all amenities. Very comfortable bed. Definitely I would choose Scandic every time I could find one in the city or afford it.
This is a great hotel close to the city center, well within walking distance. The rooms were large and the breakfast was good. Staff were very helpful. Parking is close by if you are there on a Sunday you can have free parking on the street right behind the hotel. If driving, the entrance to the hotel seems to be at the back of it. Dont be surprised if your GPS takes you to a dead end street that is the entrance. I would highly recommend this hotel if staying in Stavanger
This is the fourth Scandic property I've stayed at in the past 10 days. Even though I booked a suite here, it is the first one to disappoint. Room was not cleaned properly on arrival, nor was it serviced properly - at all - during a 3 day stay. We had to call reception for new towels. For the first time also, half of the staff seemed disinterested, unlike my experience at other Scandics. The breakfast though, was - as usual - magnificent. On arrival - with a car - it's very confusing, as there is no proper driveway, or place to park while unloading the suitcases. GPS sends you to a stairway above the door, but very hard to figure out. Not a problem if you know where you're going though.
Very nice and helpful staff at the front desk. Great room. The rooms were large and always cleaned. Good breakfast. There was never anything missing. Nice location. Short way to the center of town with many restaurants and bars. Fridge in the rooms. Grocery store and farmacia right next to the hotel.
The hotel is convenient for Stavanger railway and bus stations as well as the city. It has a clean and airy atmosphere. The staff are very willing to help; they are friendly and clearly enjoy their work. Our room was enormous in size and was clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was a self-service buffet with local produce and much smoked salmon! The bar was nicely laid out and provided a nice environment for winding down after a long day's sightseeing. Access to the hotel was a bit of an exercise as it is located on a hill, so there is an uphill walk on returning from the city, etc.
My bus arrived in Stavanger at midnight so I checked in quite late but they upgraded me and the room was amazing. It was large and on the top level. The shower was enormous and everything was very clean. The bed was big and very comfortable. The top floor has a terrace with a nice view for sunrises. The breakfast buffet was large and I loved that they had an entire gluten free section. The staff were so friendly and I loved my stay there.
We stayed one night in room 516 (junior suite) The room was fantastic, very spacious nice view from the fifth floor overlooking the theater and the big windows lit up the room with natural light. Very nice. That being said the cleaning was not that great. We noticed very fast that the underside of the table had not been washed as it was sticky. The carpet also looked like someone had bleed on it. (maybe about time to replace the carpet?) The furniture was also a bit stained. Aside from the cleaning issues the room was very nice. Huge bathroom was a treat with a human sized bathtub. Now for the far most disappointing thing with our stay. The breakfast. It was a complete disaster, the breakfast room was out of about everything. You name it. Bread, eggs & Bacon, pastries, waffle mix, ham. More than two times I had to go back to my table without my eggs & Bacon. After waiting 15 minutes the staff brings out one tray of eggs & bacon. Of course by then the whole room had been waiting 15 minutes for it. So this batch was gone after 5 minutes. And it tokk another 15-20 minutes to get another batch out. It looked as if the staff simply could not keep up with demand. Deeply disappointing as I was very much looking forward to breakfast. Oh, and the pastries was filled with the most bitter chocolate you could ever imagine. If you are wondering, we had breakfast at about 09:30 and it was not that busy. About 75% full I would say. To end on a high note, the staff was helpful and friendly.
I have stayed here a number of times now and it proves the point that orbit is the helpfulness of staff that makes you want to stay there again. Beds are extremely comfortable and the breakfasts are a real banquet that set you up for the day. It will be good once they reintroduce their evening dining solution, suspended at no notice during my stay.
I have several business trips during the year, when going to Stavanger I always stay at Scandic Park. The staff are all very friendly and go out of their way to make one feel like home. Spacious rooms with a large practical desk and free coffee and tea. The breakfast has everything one could wish for. Recommendable!
Good hotel staying experience! I was given the upgrade which gave me access to varieties of food and chocolates! Rooms were spacious and had beautiful view! All in all, great place to stay in Stavanger!
