Just checked in to a superior plus room. Looks like I’m in a disabled room. There’s plenty of room mainly because there is nothing in it! It’s hog the usual TV and tea/coffee making facilities but no wardrobe just 2 clothes hangars on a hook. Plenty of space in the room for drawers or shelves but not a single one. I actually thought I may just have been a bit stupid not being able to find the closet but was told there are no closets or shelves in any of the rooms. The receptionist suggested that they had a luggage room where I could leave my clothes! I said that I would not be a pretty site coming down naked every morning to get dressed!Thankfully, the manager Javier was very helpful and has done his best to try to find something to hang my clothes on.
I had chosen this Hotel as it was close to a venue I was visiting. The room was dimly lit and there were no drinking water bottles provided. The fridge had an open packet of slice cheese! The bathroom flush would get stuck every time it was used. Except for Towels and fixed soap dispensers, Toothbrush or Moisturiser were not provided. The phone was not working despite reminding the reception and Hotel Staff. No early wake-up call facility. The Restaurant menu offered a limited variety for dinner though the breakfast spread was good. Apparently, attention to detail is lacking. The Hotel is far off from City centre and I would not recommend the Hotel unless this is a Business need as there are better Hotels near the City Centre.
Closeness to place of work is its main selling point. As a 'Business Hotel' though it leaves quite a bit to be desired. Not a drop of drinking water or a juice in the fridge! They can certainly charge, if they desire, but to leave the fridge bone dry & empty? Not even a toothbrush in the bathroom. No early wake up call facility even when you have a 6am flight to catch? The Restaurant food is sad, considering it is so smartly turned up otherwise. There are pluses and an excellent breakfast spread tops the list. The rooms are clean and bed very comfortable. Lighting though in room somewhat sparse and the thermostat very iffy. On the whole, a mixed bag. As you approach the hotel, things look so promising at the quick pleasant check in, cheerful staff etc. All the shortcomings I've highlighted are actionable and won't cost the management too much. It's just attention to detail and I hope they respond positively. I mean & wish them well.
Nice quiet hotel, perfect location for business/airport. Friendly and helpful staff. Only thing missing at breakfast was oatmeal porridge. Body lotion in bathroom was old and smelled really bad, although I complained it was not washed and replaced, but refilled with the same horrible stuff.
Good location. Correct price. Good value for money. Top standard. New hotel 201? I think. Short way to many objects. Both Stavanger and Sandnes. Breakfast very good . Hope the hotel vil keep price low.
Good location if you travel by car and Stavanger city is not the main purpose of being in this part of the country. Great rooms, breakfast and bar. They even have foosball table on the first floor. They also leave a coupon on 50 kroner in your room every day to spend in the minibar or bar downstairs. What hotel does that?
The hotel is away from the city center (20 minutes) and close to the airport. I find it more suitable to welcome groups for meetings and congresses. There is only one elevator and we had the room on the other side, so quite uncomfortable. Room and breakfast are however satisfactory
Not family friendly, messy breakfast. Otherwise nice and clean hotel, clear, free parking, no traffic area. Large and airy room with AC, good selection of tv channels, near town (10 min drive), near Fjordline boat (15 min)
Very serviceminded and attentive staff.Got upgraded.Excellent room @ 5th floor, slept like an innocent child. This kind of breakfast you only get at Scandic hotels in Norway.Great stay.Parking in the ground floor,100 NOK a night!
I had two visits to this hotel over the last two weeks and found it to be great. It is a Scandic and provides everything you’d expect from it. The hotel itself is bright and modern, the rooms are clean and very functional. The location is easy to get to from the airport just 10 minutes in a taxi, and on great bus routes for getting around. I ate in the hotel every night and the food was always consistent and tasty. The real treat here is the staff, always very friendly and welcoming at every opportunity. Be sure and stop by the bar, they have the best bartender who takes time to offer every customer a personal service and makes the experience special. As a lone traveller, it is great to find someone who can take time to provide chat and entertainment. When I am next in Stavanger I’d love to return to this hotel.
