it was close to what we needed and very clean and friendly staff

Staff was excellent, very friendly. Going to a good restaurant requires driving or taking the hotel shuttle. Walked to a deli at noon and the area was pretty empty, not a good feeling.

Upon arrival was told I could not use either of the two handicapped parking spaces, had to use valet parking and had to load and unload in an alley on the other side of the building from their one and only wheelchair accessible entrance and that entrance is not ADA compliant. Tried to discuss this with the General Manager. She would not speak with me directly but had her staff inform me that they had a deal with the City so they did not have to comply with ADA rules. This hotel is not handicap friendly - Don't stay here.

room not so goodhotel under construtioni just was not pleased with this hotel and i have stayed in a lot of hotels not worth the money i paid for it no sitting room in the room and it was not comfortable at all the valet parking attendent tried to give us the wrong car

Hotel is nice. Only parking is valet. $12 a day and it may take 20-30 min or more just to get your car. If you need something from your car, they must get it, or bring the car so you can get your stuff, then they repark it. Public lotsare blocks away.

Hotel has received a lovely remodel, def up to american standards, quite cozy and clean. Great Bed, slept well, large bathroom and great layout of room. Would stay again!

The hotel is very historic and interestingly renovated. Location is good and convenient. Free shuttle is nice. Valet parking is not free - $12/night (little high). Buffet breakfast is pretty good. Pool area was more like a sauna so we could not use.

Attended NCAA 2nd & 3rd round basketball tourney. Also enjoyed night life and beaches around the area including Treasure Island and Tampa. The hotel was well located and room nice. Exercise room options limited and kept far too warm. Keyless entry pad failed often. Breakfast buffet was very disappointing. With all the unemployed in the nation you think they could find someone to keep the coffee urn filled and bring water and juice to your table. This is the most disappointing aspect of the stay.

The breakfasts (Continental free on Mondays, and a full breakfast with eggs and waffles $9.95 other days) are very bland. The bagels, for instance, taste like ordinary rolls -- not a real New York bagel! However, the rooms are large, modern, and comfortable. The WiFi works great, and there's lots of hot water and excellent customer adjustable central air and heating. Plus the the historic details that were retained -- such as the great tile floor in the lobby -- when Marriott renovated and added on to the original 1928 Hotel Pennsylvania are lovely. They updated the elevator's mechanicals, but kept the original elevator car -- which is nice -- but it's scuffed up and needs a new paint job The staff is pleasant and helpful. This is not a luxury hotel, or a hip boutique inn. It's not super-sophisticated, but it's a pretty nice, comfortable, friendly, unpretentious, and reasonably priced hotel in sleepy downtown St. Pete.

Hotel advertises a restaurant. It is only a breakfast which they say is free and then charges you. They don't even put an extra roll of toilet paper in the bathroom!! Some of the staff is really friendly and helpful. BUT MOST are NOT. Never will stay there again

all the staff was very helpful, the shuttle to and from the game was a added plus

This was the only downtown hotel I could find at a reasonable price that had queen beds (nice ones, too); all others had doubles or one king. It's a great remodel of the old Pennsylvania Hotel. The pool and hot tub are really nice. They have a complimentary shuttle to take you around the downtown area and the hotel is just a few blocks from the pier. I would definitely stay here again. The only downside is that restaurants are a few blocks away. The breakfast at the hotel is very nice, but there are no other restaurants right around the hotel.

The Breakfast deal was so good. Fresh Eggs made to order including great omelets with fresh spinach and made to order Belgium waffles with Hot syrup. I usually don't eat breakfast but this one is too good to pass up. We enjoyed being local to the St. Pete Pier for New Years Eve.

We chose this hotel because it was close to Tropicana Field. The hotel provided a shuttle to the field which was convenient, so we wouldn't have to pay for parking at the stadium but the hotel charged for parking which we weren't told in advance. We were also told breakfast was included but it was not and we had to pay an additional $20.00 for a medioca buffet. I won't stay here again. Mike Duffy

We were in town for a Rays game, and to hit the beach. The shuttle to and from the stadium was perfect. I would imagine it would have been fantastic if we had taken it anywhere else, as their driver (along with MOST of the staff) was great. Great location, great hotel, rooms were clean enough, didn't have time to check out the pool or fitness center. Only problem was with the valet service - upon arrival, the valet told us it was a free service, included with our room. Unfortunately we received a bill for $24 (2 days), and the front desk told us that it was not a free service. There was no hotel parking, so valet was the only option. Oh well, I guess it could have been worse. It ended up being about $115 per night, and for that price, I'd almost rather just stay ON the beach, as that was where we spent the bulk of our time...we just wanted to try staying downtown for a game...and like I mentioned above, it was PERFECT for that. Also worth noting, the bed was rock hard and made my back very sore.
