Amazing place however, the drive to the place is ridiculous I had travel sickness by the time I got there it will take about 2 hours from Caastries by car I would recommend going by boat or air, but a once in a lifetime experience that I will never forget we went for food here I think it cost us about 350 for two people :)
Wow!! Different level of experience. I can not recommend jade mountain enough. Take the helicopter for a true experience. The pool in the room was so spectacular. I can’t wait to go back. We are divers. Scuba was world class
My husband and I stayed at Jade Mountain Resort November 17th to November 22nd. We booked through American Express Centurion Fine Hotels program. To start the choices for rooms and meal plans were not explained well online and the american express agents were useless. I called Jade Mountain directly and after not getting a call back (which was promised) I called back and got my questions answered. I upgraded our meal plan and told them we were celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary. Got to airport and was greeted and escorted to the hotel. I get motion sickness so the ride was a bit much for me but not my husband. The trip up the mountain was an unpaved, potholed, precarious one. Wow. Once we got there we were escorted to our room. We had a nice bottle of prosecco and some treats. View was beautiful. WE had a major duomo who was to be our go-to person the whole time we were there. He went over stuff with us. They did not have my upgraded meal plan information so he had to leave and come back and paperwork had to be redone. Ugh not how I wanted to start. Then I remembered that one of the perks of fine hotels is an upgrade (if available). Called front desk and they eventually called us back-no luck. We were on the first floor with pools. Was disappointed but what can I say. Now here is my thoughts on the experience overall. The views are beautiful. Without a doubt. The room gets hot! They need more ceiling fans without a doubt. The furniture is in terrible shape. The choices and the condition are not acceptable for over $3000 a night... We have traveled to many places and I would say that the furniture reminds me of the cheap hotels we stayed in when we had no money in the Poconos. The floor is stained with bird poop and anything else that falls on it as the layer of polyurethane on it doesn't allow it to be cleaned up easily. They need better lighting. The lamps are terrible. They need to add more lighting in the bathroom. I fell the first night because there is no light highlighting the step down to the shower. Had bruised ribs for over 3 weeks after. Told them about it and they offered a doc. The doc called me on the phone-never suggested to visit me and offered pain killers-no thanks- and a topical creme-didn't work. I had a $100 spa credit and went for a blowout. Yikes, not good at all. They don't know how to do one. Thank god I really didn't pay for it $95!! The beach is a long walk down and the restaurant/bar a long walk up. Bruised ribs didn't make it much fun! The beach-eh! Not my favorite. The water was nice-not great. Sand was black/grey-again not my favorite. Very rocky waking in. So overall I did not like the beach but they cant change that so just so you know it's not caribbean green/blue water. The service at both the beach and all the restaurants was wonderful. The employees were very friendly and efficient. No issues at all here. Food was wonderful. We didn't have a bad thing. My husband usually is not a all-inclusive guy. Thinks the food is usually not up to par. Not the case here! The food was excellent. So overall, I don't know if I would return. I just think that for the money we spent the rooms should be nicer and they need to upgrade all furnishings and take care of many of the things that are looking old. The tanks with fish are not cleaned as well as they should.. I think that they should have told us right away that an upgrade was not available-I shouldn't have to ask. I also had to go over the bill because several items were charged that shouldn't have because of the mix up with my meal plan upgrade... I also was supposed to get a free night and in my confusion of items charged that shouldn't and my husband looking over the bill at the end and not me I didn't notice it. They corrected it right away after I called them once I was home. So they need to work on somethings. But the view!!! and the serenity!!!.... I wish I was higher as I'm sure that view was even better.
The beauty and uniqueness of the rooms ("sanctuaries") is even more spectacular in person - photos can not capture this properly. The architecture is exceptional - almost all the rooms have their own infinity pool, with the fourth wall open to expose you to the stunning views of the ocean and the pitons. We had one of the galaxy sanctuaries which have one of the best views of the pitons and were huge in size. We didn't have to leave the sanctuary - you could swim, sun tan, and eat anytime we wanted. We even went swimming at night time after dinner in our massive infinity pool. Restaurant staff were all fantastic. We had lovely dinners at the restaurant and had drinks and cigars on the rooftop bar and watched the stars! So beautiful Our major domo Davidson was excellent - he was happy to help us with anything we required and more. We were disappointed when he left us after a few days (his days off, oh well) and the second major domo who took care of us was not as attentive but we enjoyed it nonetheless. Would recommend coming here 100%! I would return again and again...
Opinion is a must include St Lucia site. Everything about this place is amazing. Strongly suggest water taxi if staying on northern tip. The wine pairings are extensive, the sommelier very knowledgeable and entertaining.
Summary: Overall Jade is an amazing resort and we'd love to come back. The service is over the top and the rooms/views are unlike anything you've ever seen. The biggest issues we had were with the food being too salty and the rooms being much noisier than expected. General: Do the all inclusive or FAP. You could get away with MAP if you order extra breakfast and snack on it for lunch. Bottom line, you don't want to be a la carte. We easily spent $750 a day by their crazy prices. Other than a trip to the Anse Mamin burger bar, just do food in your room or at jade club. Food at the anse chastanet resort was really bad. The no-kids policy seems more like a guideline. There were kids around the grounds/jade club/terrace and none of the workers seemed to say anything. Dress code is casual except for dinner was smart casual. Collared shirt and long pants for men, sundress for women was most common. The drive from the airport was nauseating and we don't usually get car sick. The Jade mountain driveway at the end is basically offroading. As others have said, don't come if you aren't able to climb stairs. Yes, you can shuttle to the beach but you can't get to the restaurant, can't get to the terrace, etc. Even the rooms have steps to get to the bathroom. Tipping as you go is not a thing here. If you want to tip, do so at the end. The open forth wall is awesome but it means that your experience is highly dependant on your neighbors. If they're loud, playing music, smoking, etc its practically happening in your room. If you're near the top (E\D floors) you'll get the music and noise from the restaurant every night. Food: Picture of menus uploaded and attached to this review. Breakfast - The most consistent, high quality meal we had. We did breakfast in the room everyday. Pastries were amazing, try them all! We'd order young coconuts every morning and store them in the fridge for when we got back from the beach in the afternoon. Indian fusion on beach - This place was horrible. We ended up going twice because we love indian food but both times the food was so salty as to be inedible and the service was even worse. Don't waste your time on it. Burger Bar on Mamin - We ended up having lunch here both days. The burger was solid but we actually preferred the jade mnt room service burger. Can't beat the atmosphere. Jade Club - We did dinner here most nights. The food was generally above average but rarely exceptional. There was a lot of repetition on the menu from day to day and the "specialty" butter was rarely good. Drinks - everything we tried was great and just about everything is included in the meal plans. The cocktails in particular were exceptional. Piton beer is good but only comes in 9oz bottles. Grounds: Jade Mountain Resort - meticulously groomed, everything was beautiful. Anse Chastanet Resort - couldn't really see much other than the main drive as we walked down to the beach. Looks nice but clearly a step below jade. Anse Chastanet Beach - Surprised how crowded it was. What we eventually figured out was that resorts/cruise ships bringing groups down for snorkel/scuba/beach time because all beaches in st lucia are public. As a result you have an extra ~50-100 people down there at any given time. Anse Mamin Beach - We spent most of our beach time here. Its way less crowded than chastanet, has as good snorkeling, and has better food. Don't bother waiting for the water taxi - it's a 5-7 minute walk. Activities: Scuba/Snorkel - some of the best we've ever seen just 25 feet off the beach, both chastanet and mamin. We even saw a sea turtle! Mountain Biking - Tyson was a great guide, we had a ton of fun tooling around the trails and old plantation. Hiking - You can hike the back way from jade mountain to anse mamin. Its about a 30 minute hike - very hilly - but beautiful scenery. Volcano/botanical garden/jade farm tour - this tour was included in the total romance package and was the only time we left the resort. Overall somewhat disappointing - the volcano was cool but you just look from afar, the gardens were nice but crazy crowded. The farm tour was the best part. Spa - a couples massage came with the package. It was ok but nothing special, wouldn't have done it if not included. Rooms: Furniture was high quality and tasteful, rooms were very clean despite the open forth wall and birds/lizards constantly in and out. What you would expect from such a high end hotel. The infinity pool is the best thing ever. Its not heated so its cold in the morning but is awesome in the afternoon when you come back from the beach. If you are on E or D you WILL hear music blasting from the restaurant from ~7-10 every night. Resorts and cruise ships run tours down to see the pitons constantly. These boats BLAST music like you wouldn't believe. You will hear on and off in the rooms from ~12-6. Its amazing how loud this music is but nothing you can do about it. JE1/E3/D1/D4 - These are the end rooms on the top two floors. They have the best views but are easy to see into from the rest of the resort. F Floor - these don't have a pool. Might as well stay down at anse chastanet. JE2 was our room - the top middle. It was very breezy with great views but had the noise problem from the restaurant. We'd stay in the B/C level next time. We'd probably stick with a star level room, we toured moon/sun/galaxy rooms before we left but they didn't feel that different from our star and not worth the extra cost.
Room: 5 stars - but... if you don't have the room with a pool, you do not have access to a pool. So book a room with a pool. Service: 5 stars. Christus was an amazing host, did a wonderful job to make our experience better. Staff is on you like white on rice. Food: 4.5 stars, not out of this world. But, still pretty amazing. Views: Top 5 in the world. Tips: Add foam rollers in the gym.
We stayed here for a birthday trip that was literally booked 3 days in advance. Jade Mountain and St. Lucia were on my "bucket list" but my husband had me convinced that since it was a last minute trip we were not able to stay at Jade Mountain. Imagine my surprise when I found out on arrival in St. Lucia that we were indeed going to Jade Mountain! We were upgraded to a Sun Sanctuary and it was amazing. It was indeed the most beautiful room we have ever stayed in. You just can't beat that view and the beauty of the open air environment. Speaking of the open wall - it is so nice. Yes, you will hear birds in the morning, yes you might have a bird or two hang out and look for food or take a sip from your pool. But the room is very private and there is very minimum noise that you hear from other rooms. The only times we would hear other people would be the odd loudmouth out on the bridges as they were coming and going from their rooms. We used the mosquito coils provided and the net on the bed and didn't have a bite the whole trip. We were there at the beginning of November and the pool temp was perfect. The only time it was chilly was one night after a rain. Our sanctuary got a lot of sun and I enjoyed sunning and reading in the room, with an occasional dip in the pool. We did the All Inclusive package and it was just that - the only things we ended up paying for at the end were souvenir purchases that we charged to the room. We enjoyed all of the restaurants on property and while there were a few misses food wise it was still very good. Service could be slow at times, but I think that's just "island time" and we have seen it in other Caribbean locations. We spent our time at the beach, we tried both. While we enjoyed the Anse Mamin beach - it was very quiet and peaceful, with fabulous beach service and lunch, the facilities are a little rustic. As long as you are prepared for the rustic restrooms, you should be fine. We also enjoyed Anse Chastanet beach and the snorkeling right off the beach. We took advantage of our package and did the guided snorkeling tour and the volcano/farm tour, all of which we enjoyed. The spa treatment included in our package was very nice but not fantastic. The spa itself is a little small but everyone was so friendly. All in all, the resort is beautiful and very luxurious. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and top of the line experience.
Travelled in December as a couple! It was amazing and breathtaking. The service at Jade Club Restaurant was amazing. Breakfast views were incredible and all of the staff were very pleasant and helpful. We will be back soon!
Staying in this hotel is a treat!! Each room is a sanctuary- the rooms are open to the elements and are exquisite! The rooms are spacious, the bathroom open to the views and each room has a magnificent large private pool which over looks the beautiful view towards the Piton mountains. The tranquility was intoxicating! Each room comes with a butler- we had Davidson he was incredible!!! The resort is attached to another resort on the beach which is also gorgeous. Guests can choose to eat dinner in your sanctuary or there are other restaurants to choose from which are all as good as each other! The food is incredible, fresh and delicious, the staff so helpful- nothing is too much trouble and they are all friendly and kind. The beach offers gorgeous sunlounges and umbrellas as well as activities. Diving is popular and the staff in the Dive shop are amazing- special mention to Zita and Xavier. All the staff are proud of their country and their jobs. The hotel is an amazing structure to behold- using as much of native resources, it sits effortlessly in the mountain, where guests feel part of the incredible landscape!! We are so grateful to have stayed here!! Highly recommend!!
