Ocean Sands Beach Inn

Recent guest reviews

This hotel was off the beaten path, across the street from the beautiful beach and less than 10 minutes away from Olde Towne St. Augustine where you can catch the trolley. Publix is about 1 mile away from the hotel. Even though we didn't have an ocean view, the room was comfortable with a big tv, refrigerator and microwave. The staff was very friendly. Would stay again.

Very nice hotel across the street from the beach. Quiet beach. Very friendly staff.

Stayed for three nights. The staff were extremely friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. The hotel is just a street from the beach - makes it perfect for beach walks.

This hotel is small but very well kept. The check in and check out process was painless and the staff was very helpful. The room was fairly large and the beds were comfortable. Very clean. The only complaint i would have about the room was the coaseness of the towels. It was like drying off with sandpaper. Other than that small detail, our stay was perfect and the view was wonderful.

The place was quiet and more affordable than other options in Vilano/St. Augustine area.

The room was ok. Tv didn't work. Beds were ok. Room hadn't been deep cleaned in a long time. Had a picture of Natalie Portman taped inside the lamp...? Way overpriced for the room. Water coming out of the shower smelled awful. I can't really think of a positive.

What a gem to find! Ocean Sands was a short drive from the downtown area and just steps from the beach. The staff was very attentive and friendly and the room was very clean. Cant wait to go back!

I loved, loved, LOVED this place. The staff was like family by the end of our stay. Debbie was like the sister I took with me! Awesome location between the beach, river and Old St. Augustine. Hotel was older so I felt the cost was a bit over priced, but I will be back! OFTEN! Side Note: Handicapped Room was perfect! Large shower, only one large bed, easy outside access. Unfortunately, the environment isn't very wheelchair friendly. I won't be taking my wheelchair child with me. Paradise for other kids!

Beach was right across the street. The jacuzzi was an incredible touch!

The Ocean Sands has great room views of either the marsh to the west or the ocean to the east. Rooms are spacious and confortable with small balconies. The balcony chairs are WalMart rejects, however one collapsed under me (I weigh 180, not 320!). Breakfast is included, including cereal, waffles, sausages and powdered eggs. One has to walk across A1A to get to the beach, which can be a bit harrowing with the traffic. Beach is beautiful, though, and I can't imagine it ever getting crowded at this location (no parking). Nice place for a weekend getaway on a budget.

Hotel staff was very nice and so was the location. Place would really be great with some basic improvements to the hotel.

The staff was great. Vey helpful. Nice size room and right across from the beach! Only downside is that it's right on a busy road that you have to cross to get to the beach. A small price to pay for the overall value of the stay though!

If you need a relatively clean place to stay near the beach, this isn't the worst choice. It isn't the best choice either. The rooms are across the street from the beach but you have to walk along AIA to get to the beach entrance, which is a little dangerous. There is a pool but it's literally in the parking lot, which is odd and not at all relaxing. The person who checked us in that evening was in a hurry to finish the shift and get to a party, so the service wasn't great, but the person in the morning was a bit more friendly.

Very small room with too much furniture. Eating area same problem. Best part was having the beach across the street and short drive to historic district. Place is very date and needs a facelift.

Nice customer Service, Very people orinted, nice accommodations, VERY Cousy little hotel, me and my girl will no hesitate to go back!!

My family stayed at this motel. It was nice little place. good breakfast. Rooms where really clean. Beach access doesn't get any better. The staff are beyond nice. If I had one complaint the rooms and pool are on the small side but hey you have a beach across the road and I'm not living there. Comfy beds. 3 miles from downtown St augustine.

Good.. Friendly... Only thing ... Oceanfront is on highway

The hotel was as described and was comfortable. It was located across the street from the beach; however, we could see the ocean well from the top floor where we were located. The breakfast was fine, but was missing fruit. Seems like that would be a standard thing that comes with a continental breakfast. Also, we were promised wireless connection and we didn't have that while we were there. Over all I would stay there again.

The hotel has a great location to the beach literally across the street and a very short drive to historic downtown St. Augustine. The rooms are basic which was fine with us but with all the humidity in Fl. I would recommend tile floors instead of carpeting because there is a definite moldy smell in the room. Overall, a good stay for a weekend getaway if you are just sleeping there.

Very old and run down. Definitely not a 3 star hotel. Ok for family on a tight budget second floor has nice view of ocean. Easy ocean access.
