The hotel was basic. With the air conditioning running we didn't really hear the trains. The beds were comfortable. The only problem we had is food. Good restaurants are all 20 miles or more away and don't eat the hotels Continental breakfast. The milk was sour and the sugar had ants. Another guest described the eggs as cooked Sponge Bob.
We were visiting the Laura Ingalls Wilder museum nearby in Mansfield and stayed here. The hotel backs up to the train tracks, which are used frequently for primarily freight trains. If you are a light sleeper, this could be a problem; I loved the sound of the train. The hotel is clean, provides shampoo/soap, and has decent-sized rooms. It's perfect for people who just need a place to sleep.
We just needed an overnight room Our room was clean and a nice size. We used an AARP discount and paid $75.62 for a week night. Three warnings: 1. The free internet was spotty and kept going in and out 2. There is a railroad track behind the hotel and it seemed like a train went by every hour complete with the train horns. We travel with a white noise machine, so we slept fine. 3. When I got into the shower, I almost fell. There is no traction on the floor of the tub and it was very slick. They need to fix this ASAP.
Stayed 2 nights here during the Jeep Jamboree. I was impressed with how well kept the hotel was, you can tell the owners care about the property. Check in was quick and easy, the family that runs the hotel are very friendly and accommodating. I'd stay here again.
Memorial Day Weekend, 2017. Read some reviews online and thought we would try it. We were heading west and if I had it to do over again would keep going to Springfield. The rooms were good sized, the beds were comfy and the place was clean. However, the showers were cold, and never warmed up even after four people took a shower. We had to be some of the first ones up as it was a Sunday at about 7 a.m. I told the front desk lady when we checked out about 9;30 and she got someone else who tried to convince me there wasn't an issue and it had been fixed. After a little arguing I got him to deduct some $$ off the price of the room. We originally paid $86, which included taxes. While the manager was busy trying to convince me that there really wasn't a problem with the hot water, some other guests who were eating breakfast in the lobby said neither they nor their friends had hot water either. The breakfast was sub-par as well. The eggs were so disgusting I couldn't eat them and the coffee was extremely weak. There was no fruit either. The fruit loops did taste ok th9ugh. The orange juice looked like that "fizzy-bubbly" drink from "You don't Mess With The Zohan", so I skipped it as I don't tend to drink things that fluoresce. My kids tried it and said it was "gross".
Pleasant and polite staff. Clean rooms. Ok beds, with a small pillow collection. Our in room coffee pot was broke. Did have microwave and refrigerator in room. It was what we needed for a night passing through.
We stayed at Americas Best Value Inn again and throughly enjoyed it , Since our last stay I have had a stroke and was on 2nd floor of hotel and was gihg to get ice which is on 1st floor - manager came out of a room which he was checking and was walking with me and talking . He asked why I had to use cane so I told him about having stroke - he took my ice bucket and told me to wait right there and he would bring ice back to me which I thought was very nice . The people at the hotel seem to go out of their way to make your stay as nice as possible . We will be in Seymour at least once a month until the end of the year and I plan on staying there from now on . The hotel was completly booked but you did not hear kids running up and down hall or doors slamming all night long .
Room was clean; stayed on second floor because the lady at check in claimed they were full on the first floor. This was a bunch of bunk, since I was one of about a ten vehicles that night. No elevator, so I had to lug my stuff up the stairs, but no big deal. I was going to ask about this the next morning, but never actually saw anyone again behind the desk. Always no one there when I was in lobby. All in all, an ok place for a small town motel. Just don't expect anything more than a clean basic room with skimpy towels. Trains rumble by throughout the night.
We just returned tonight from our trip to Seymour, Mo. We stayed at Americas Best Value Inn Seymour and throughly enjoyed our stay there . The rooms were very nice for the price and very clean . The staff was extremely polite whenever we saw them . We had a very good breakfast at the hotel and it was free -- we had scrambled eggs -- sausage -- biscuits and gravy -- bagels -- waffles-- danish -- and cold cereal also orange juice , coffee and milk . Needless to say we had enough of a selection to choose from . We will be back to stay there the next trip back to Seymour . Thanks for an enjoyable trip .
We spent 3 nights here. The rooms were very clean and odor free. The towels were not the greatest, but sufficient. Our rooms were upstairs (no elevator). I have noticed often upstairs rooms are cleaner than downstairs ones probably because they are not occupied as often. The motel is small -- maybe 30 or so rooms. It was basically empty when we were there. Still, it is not bad especially since it is essentially the only one for miles.
