Very old. Needs upgrade

Parking and location

Elevator out of service. We were assigned to a 2nd floor room. Told a first floor room was not available. With arthritic knees, used stairs that had a handrail that was so loose I could have pulled it out of the wall with little effort. 2nd floor had very loose, dirty carpet in the hallway with an unpleasant oror present. Room was fair but the refrigerator did not work. Was told they "didn't know we wanted a refrigerator". Had to change to another room with a functional refrigerator. Had planned a 5 night stay but decided to leave after 1 night for the above reasons. Told we would not be charged for the other nights. As we were loading the car an employee offered a 1st floor room and declined offer.

When I checked in the motel charges were about $65.00 but they tried to get approval for almost $20.00 over that amount. There was nothing on line or even when I checked in to inform me of that cost. The paper I was going to sign did not show any additional amount, only the $65.00 . They seemed rude to deal with when I asked why the additional amount of money. He picked up some type of a card on his desk saying they would get approval for incidentals but it did not tell me how much. I had calculated down to the penny what I would need for the trip and an additional $20.00 I could have covered had I known about this ahead of time. They whole check in time took almost 45 minutes.

I was in the area to attend testimony night at my daughter's church camp, as I am over that age group of girls at home and wanted to share that experience with them. I needed a place to stay for the night, not wanting to drive all the way home, only to have to come back the next day. The price was right, and the gentleman at the front desk was very nice...but ugh...it had that bleach water smell the minute you walked in, and then my room was all dank and musty...and humid even though it was cool. The bed felt like a concrete block and my back has been hurting ever since. The room was clean enough...just that awful smell and horrible bed. I won't be staying there or at any other Days Inn again.

We ended up not staying at this motel. We had applied for a non-smoking room. They reserved a smoking room instead. When we asked them to change us to a non-smoking room they refused and would not give us a refund. So we had to pay them for a room we did not use and had to go to another motel for a room.
