Jurys Inn Sheffield3.0 out of 5.0

We came up to Sheffield to work at a sport event and were put up in Jury Inn. We were process at arrival with in seconds and the hotel staff were extremely helpful. Our room was clean and inviting. One drawback is no on site parking but there is two car parks across the road from the hotel. The hotel can verify your parking token at reception which means you have to pay £7.00 which is quite a good saving. Breakfast was good and the food was hot, the bacon was a little over coooked and was hard, Otherwise breakfast was good
Was our second visit which is a recommendation in itself. You are made to feel very welcome at this hotel. Chocolates and a hand written welcome note in room is a rare but nice touch. Stayed on top floor in newly refurbished room. Found room a bit hot under thick duvet but room was clean and tidy and bed very comfortable. Staff were very professional, friendly and enjoyed good banter with Lee the bar manager. Location of hotel could not be better. No dedicated parking but couple of secure multi stories within 200 metres, one which has a discount arrangement with the hotel
I was visiting jury's Inn sheffield from 10th to 13th February. It was great to see everyone again as it is a real homely feeling. The staff make you feel like family & not just hotel guests. Thanks to Gemma for my lovely chocolates & the voucher for my meal it was a lovely gesture. It was lovely to see the staff again & I would like to wish Charlie all the best in her career if I do not get chance to see her again before she finishes university & goes back home. It was a pleasure getting to know her. Lee was his usual helpful self & it's always nice chatting with him. Thanks to Aidan & Roberta for assisting me at breakfast. The Oriental Stir Fry cooked by Mamood was the best meal I have ever eaten. I apologise if I have missed anyone but all the staff always do an excellent job & makes my stay enjoyable. Patrick Murphy
As per the title, I can not praise the warm hospitality shown by the staff when I stay here for business. It is not superficial, it is very genuine and welcoming and makes the stay that most special. I have stayed in 5 star hotels and believe me, the whole experience can feel detached and soulless but Jurys Inn staff seem to be a happy family, from the excellent reception staff to the guys and girls at the bar, who have always got a good laugh and story to tell. There are very responsive to your needs and nothing seems to phase or bother them. Just an excellent customer service experience. Food is good, with a wide variety of selections for any particular mood your in. Rooms are comfortable, clean and quiet enough to drown out any traffic outside. Breakfast is good and again served by some great characters from the morning team. Only issue I have with it is, if they could cook the sausages all round instead of just one side. This hotel might look on the outside as another generic modern hotel but what it lacks on the outside more than makes up for the warm, comfortable and happy experience you receive from the Jurys team. Superb stay, can not recommend it or them enough.
Great location right in the centre, very helpful and lovely staff, nice comfortable bar but the rooms were very basic and the bathroom extremely dated. Quite a noisy hotel with a lot of young people coming in very late. We had breakfast at Browns around the corner which I highly recommend. Cheaper than the hotel too. I would rate this hotel 3* maximum and 2* for the rooms.
Fine for business and a short stay, but other nicer and better hotels in Sheffield for around the same price. Location is pretty good for the town centre; the staff were nice, although check in was a bit poor. Room service was quite slow considering I ordered early and the food wasn't presented or cooked very well which was a shame. Not sure I would stay again as rather pay a bit more for a nicer hotel when on business, like the Mercure St Paul's or Holiday Inn.
We stayed over night as e was attending a venue close by everything we asked help for was seen to straight away and the breakfast was lovely too I was a bit worried about the walking distance with the car park but it was literally right across the road
I stayed here when first moving to Sheffield for university, and it definitely gave me a good first impression of the city. The staff from reception to restaurant were all very friendly and helpful, and the room was cozy and comfortable. The best part is probably the location for the price you pay. It is about a 5 minute walk to the City Centre of Sheffield, and about 10 minutes to the train station, yet still manages to be very affordable.
Needed somewhere close to station and University, this was closest and cheapest of those available, and for an overnight stay it did what was required - the hotel noted the hotel was undergoing refurbishment, so we didn't need to make an issue of the chipped and damaged furniture as no doubt this will be replaced in due course. Breakfast was a good selection in a calm and quiet atmosphere
I’ve had 4 nights at the Jury’s Inn. I wasn’t expecting great things for the price I paid. How wrong. First the welcome at reception was warm, friendly and extremely helpful. I wasn’t expecting a fancy room and I got what it says on the tin. It was warm, clean, really comfortable bed and ample tea and coffee! I went down to the bar the first evening to be welcomed by Lee, if you imagine a great pub where the landlord knows everyone and knows what they want.. That’s Lee, I sat happily drinking my very inexpensive beer, as Lee welcomed every guest by name and if he didn’t know their name... He soon did.. This isn’t the service you get in hotel chains usually and his congenial and professional service was second to none. When Lee was off Will maintained the great service with an equally friendly and professional manner. These two alone would be enough to give it 5 stars, especially given the type of hotel it is. I dropped a star because of the food.. a shame.. I ate twice.. Empanadas really nice.. First meal I had the ribs, so undercooked they were inedible and were sadly returned to be replaced by a burger which was really nice but seemed to be served in a ridiculous wooden crate.. i have no idea what the idea of that is, it looked a bit lonely to be honest. Second meal.. chicken and chorizo empanada.. followed by half raw chicken. Real shame, if i was rating this place on the food ..sorry it would be 1* Underdone chicken isn’t great! I will definitely be back but I’ll stick to eating at the pub across the road.. Don’t worry Lee / Will I’ll still be in for beers 😁
